1. Display performance

   after fighting with the display performance for a couple of days, I finally could preview it changing the settings in general settings. I haven't found any other solution for now but at least it works.

2. Publish Online Embed and Interactivity

   When embedding a Publish Online document in a webpage, "read now" appears in the center of the document, and when the document is clicked, it goes into fullscreen mode. The problem is, once in fullscreen the "read now" button does not go away and prevents any of the interactive features in my document from being used. Once in fullscreen, the "read now" interface needs to go away.

   It may also be useful to change how a user accesses fullscreen from an embedded document. They may not want to use fullscreen but are forced to when they interact with the document.

3. 2023 InDesign PDF:

   Bleeds are not appearing when importing InDesign PDF into 2023 InDesign document using Monterey 12.2.1, even though we have accepted the document bleed settings in the preferences. The same exact file works in the previous versions (2022, 2020, 2019)

4. consecutive Footnote numbering across book file with multiple sections

   Currently InDesign can't have consecutive numbering across it's footnotes if you have a publication made up of a number of book files.
   It always restarts at one.
   That's hopeless if you're doing an annual report where you need consecutive numbering across the entire book.

5. Image catalogue script only has Desktop as a folder option. InDesign 2023

   When I've used this in previous editions, I was able to pick any folder on my computer. Now it only has Desktop as an option.

6. Crash on HTML export when notes contain hyperlinks, and messed up HTML

   Steps to reproduce
   1. Export the attached file starting with "B272" as HTML
   2. BUG: ID crashes
   3. EXPECTED: No crash
   4. QUICK FIX: Remove all notes that contain hyperlinks
   5. RESULT: No crash on export

   Note: The reason for crashing is NOT that many of the URLs contain a colon in a non-standard place. You can enter any URL and it will still crash.

   This problem happens with about 80% of files with links in endnotes. It will not happen when endnotes are converted to footnotes. 20% of the files do export without crashing, but the HTML of endnotes is often messed up.

   POSSIBLY RELATED ANOTHER BUG
   Steps to reproduce
   1. Export the attached file starting with "B617" as HTML
   2. See the HTML of the endnote 18. The last sentence is repeated twice
   3. See endnote 11. The <a> tag is not inside the "hyperlink" span, but appears at the very end, outside of the main "endnote-011" span.

   It could be that ID messes up HTML in endnotes, sometimes so badly that it crashes.

   Using latest Indesign 18.0 on Macos Ventura 13.01 on M1 chip

   Steps to reproduce
   1. Export the attached file starting with "B272" as HTML

7. Indesign crashes when pressing the hot keys for copy

   Indesign 18.0 (Apple Silicon/Intel)
   Mac OS Monterey Version 12.6
   Macbook Pro (16 Inch, 2021)
   Chip Apple M1 Max

   Brand new Macbook Pro, brand new installation of Indesign. It crashes every time I press hotkeys for copy. When it re-opens it crashes again. Everything is delayed and slow when I reopen, so I save, close Indesign and re-open. I get a good 5-10 minute run and it crashes again. Crashed 10 times today.

8. All of the sudden font doesn't appear

   v17.2 InDesign
   MAC OS Big Sur 11.6.5
   Opening documents to make changes and fonts are missing. They are activated in Suitcase 22.0.4 and appear in Illustrator when I open a document.
   Have redone preferences, caches in both InDesign and Suitcase. Tried placing the fonts in the InDesign fonts folder and the Adobe fonts folder.
   Have restarted several times.
   Uninstalled InDesign and reinstalled.
   Not sure what to do! Please help!!

9. bug: stroke and fill not showing / error

   Fill and stroke is not showing when I create a shape / use a template that already has a shape in it.
   Additionally, images held in frames with those effects don't show correctly - when opening a file the placeholder frame which has an image in it will then show with a. white fill over the image, and no stroke effect.
   However, when you export as a .pdf all the file looks fine.

11. disappearing text paragraph style

    I am using InDesign 17.4 under macOS 12.6 on an iMac Retina 5K, 27", 2017 with a 3.4 GHz i5, 32GB RAM, and a Radeon Pro 570.

    When I attempt to create a new paragraph style with an active text selection and check 'Apply Style to Selection', any change I make to the new paragraph style, including simply naming the style, renders the text invisible.

    The expected result, of course, would be to have visible text.

    The actual result is invisible text.

    Relaunching ID, restarting the computer, and rebuilding the preferences file all had no effect. The only workaround I have found is to not select the 'Apply Style to Selection' option, create my style, and then apply the style in the document. From there I am able to edit the style without further issue.

12. Text glitch in paragraph following uneven 2 column text

    This is from InDesign version 17.3 but it's happened in earlier versions of InDesign CC. Text paragraph after an uneven 2-column list is overlapped onto a single line. Happens only when the right-hand column is longer than the left. This error was from a 500-page hardcover book where the author printed 100s of copies!

    BUG/FEATURE: No SEARCH feature for indd.adobe.com documents!
    Details: I'm viewing a wine list for the restaurant Cafe Juanita in Kirkland, WA (URL below). Your indd.adobe.com viewer does NOT have a search feature. Which would be super useful on this 28 page wine list! In addition, there is no download button, so I cannot download the PDF and search it locally.

14. InDesign 23 has screwed my comp.. Can't even open file explorer tabs. Lost access to all work

    After attempting to export a PDF from InDesign with 'Full screen' opening, it crashed and closed InDesign and ever since I have no access to any of my files.

    Everytime I try to open a folder (even ones that have nothing to do with Adobe CC or programs etc.) it just freezes and crashes. So now I can't access anything on my PC. I've uninstalled & reinstalled, reset preferences on boot, saved as idml and re-saved, reset the computer.. Nothing is working.

    So not only am I unable to work today because of this (which means lost money) I imagine I'm also going to have to spend time, and possibly more money, fixing the issue myself. And quite frankly, when I pay this much for software, I expect more than a "I'm so sorry, that's just the way it is. You'll have to redo the work." response from the support team. Especially now it has gone beyond crashing in-program and I do not have access to important business documentation or anything else on my hard drive.

15. InCopy Templates opening new Document with unique assignments

    This is for InCopy but it would be great to be able to save InCopy Templates that open a new Incopy document with NEW UNIQUE assignments. For example, this would allow you to make an InCopy Sign template that has locked down branding, etc but has editable text fields that can be populated by client and saved off as print pdfs for production. The client could then use the template over and over to create many signs.

16. problem with optical margin alignment and world-ready paragraph composer

    1. This happens in multiple versions of InDesign. I've reproduced it in ID CS 6 (8.1.0.420), ID CC 2019 (14.0.3.433), ID 2021 (16.4.0.55), and ID 2022 (17.0.0.68).

    2. Steps to reproduce:
       (1) Open InDesign
       (2) Create a new empty document
       (3) Create a text frame that is 100 mm by 100 mm
       (4) Place Text4.txt
       (5) Go Type > Story > check Optical Margin Alignment

    3. Expected result:
       The left margin should be somewhat ragged because the * character needs to be shifted left to make the margin appear straight. The right margin should be completely even because each line ends with the same word.

    4. Actual result:
       The left margin is correctly ragged. The right margin is ragged instead of being even.

    5. Text4.jpg shows the result with the ragged right margin.

    6. Notes:
       (1) This bug occurs with the World-Ready Paragraph Composer. It does not occur with the Adobe Paragraph Composer. Switching the composer produces the expected results.
       (2) This bug is related to soft hyphens (0xAD). If these are removed from the data then the expected results are produced.

17. Critical PDF Export Issue - InDesign 17.4

    The font "Josefin Slab Thin" is "active", while it simultaneously errors that it can't find it, and continues trying to download the font in the background. I tried exporting the file on 2 different Adobe accounts and had the same issue with this font. Upon attempting to uninstall InDesign through the CC app, the "uninstall" button 'clicks' but does nothing. No loading button or anything.

18. Very slow screen response with Mac OS Monterey

    Since upgrading to an Apple Silicon Mac running Monterey OS with a Dell 4K screen, Indesign has become sluggish when scrolling through documents, especially those with placed images.

    Also, if I highlight text and make a change to the formatting (make it Bold, for instance, or apply a different paragraph format) the change does not appear until I deselect the text. It will show up correctly before I deselect the text sometimes, but more often than not it doesn't.

    InDesign version 18.0 with the latest updates.

19. Cannot open certain files

    I recently installed InDesign 2023. Now I can't open a lot of files through DropBox. InDesign simply does nothing (no error code or spinning wheel, etc., just... nothing). So far the only fix is to download it to my hard drive, but since these are team documents that isn't a good solution. Help?

20. Indesign 2022 menus not working - renders the software ABSOLUTELY UNUSABLE!!!

    Adobe Indesign 17.3 (also happened in 17.4).
    MacBook Pro (M1 2021). macOS Monterey v12.4

    Dropdown menus don't work. If you click, nothing happens, if you double-click the menu appears but, no sub-menus are available. I have uninstalled, reinstalled, tried 17.3 and 17.4, quit, restarted - all to no avail.

    Indesign is unsuable with this bug, this requires Adobe's full attention!!!
