1. appliedLanguage property of text-related objects returns language from application, not document

   When I do configuration for a language in a document, such as setting doubleQuotes, this language can be found in the document object's list of languages and has a different id than the language with the same name in the application object's list.

   But when I access text inside the document – regardless what I inspect, paragraph, words, character, textStyleRange – I expect to get the language properties as set in the document, but instead I get those as set in the app.

   I believe this to be a software bug.

3. Stock image names are too long

   When using licensed Adobe stock images, the names from the catalog are entered as the file name which causes the files to not be able to be packaged, resulting in an error. I suggest making it so that the files enter the library as Stock #s instead to avoid this issue.

4. Lagging and glitching mouse pointer

   The problem comes when I expand or move a text box: the mouse glitches, the entire page lags and becomes half black, so I can't do anything properly.

   I've just reinstalled InD and installed all the updates or drivers coming from the OS (I have a 6 month Lenovo PC with Windows 11). I'm not using InD with browsers or other programs open. Sometimes, InD seems working, but when I restart InD after turning off the PC, the lagging and glitching mouse is still here.
   
   I have no idea of how fix this... it's exhausting because I can't paginate anything without causing an epileptic attack to my PC (and to my poor eyes). It's strange because I'm using InD since may 2022 with no drama... in one week it became my nightmare.

   Can anyone help me please?

5. Ver18.0でレイアウト編集、ルビ打ち、日本語用の級、歯の環境設定などがすべて出来ません。

   新規作成で日本語縦書き設定もできない状況でしたが、アンインストール後、再インストールした結果、問題はなくなりました。

8. alternate layout - copy text variables (just like styles to new group)

   I had a job that was originally designed to be a PDF online in color. Then at the last minute, the client asked for a B&W version for print (to keep costs down). They still weren't done editing so I made an alternate layout and checked "copy styles to new group", then made all the color adjustments to those styles and the new B&W master pages. However, I had a running header in the original version. Well, the running header on the B&W version picked up the last section head from the color version, making the B&W version incorrect. I fixed it by making a new B&W version of the text variable and replacing it on the master page. It would be nice if, when making an alternate layout, if the text variables could be copied (and name appended) automatically.

9. Buttons Reverting to Top-Most Destination

   I set up all of my buttons on different parent pages and amended pages based on parent pages, gave them all unique names and set their destinations. They worked perfectly for precisely one export to interactive PDF and then most of the buttons reverted to the top-most destination in the list when I reopened the document.

10. Layer selection window size in import options

    When importing a .psd or .ai file, the layers selection window is ridiculously small (you can only view 4 layers at a time), making it a real pain to select layers on a big file. Please, at least make it resizeable.

    2. In table cells we put the € sign with an eighth-fourth as numbering in a paragraph format, so we don't need to type in the € sign every time. Since InDesign 18.0 the text disapears (column 1) when inserting a new text (price), as if the column seems to be too narrow. When converting the numbering into text (column 2) the text appears again. With the numbering function in it you cannot make the column smaller. There ist always a big space before the text (or after when left-aligned) (column 3).
    3. We would like to to continue using the numbering function in tables and have the column as narrow as possible.

12. workspace issues with 2023

    Every time I open (or create) a new document in Indesign 18.0 x64, I get automatically taken to the touch worksapce (which is never what I want). Then, when I click on the correct workspace, it also opens this weird "structure" thing. Even if I close it and resave the workspace, it'll open it again the next time I open a document. This is extremely frustrating.

15. Source Sans issue

    Source Sans or INDD has changed from version 17.3 to 17.4. All of the type gets baseline shifted down when you create a new file or if you open up an existing INDD file with Source Sans. It all pushes down inside the text window.

    Either an INDD problem or Source Sans coding has changed. Please resolve--its our house typeface.

16. CMYK JPG export does not preserve the correct dpi export information

    To demonstrate this bug, I've made an A4 landscape document as shown in image 1.
    If I export this to an RGB PNG using the settings in image 2, the image exports as expected and all figures - including the ppi - are correct as shown in image 3.
    If I export this to a CMYK jpgs using the settings in image 4, the image exports but the expected ppi of 300 ppi is incorrect and it has exported at 72ppi, though the pixel dimensions are correct (shown in image 5).
    If I export this to an RGB jpg using the settings in image 6, the image exports as expected with results displayed in image 7.
    Maintaining the ppi is important when later placing the cmyk jpg in other applications, as expected placed size is now incorrect.
    I've also attached the three exports used in the demonstration.

    To demonstrate this bug, I've made an A4 landscape document as shown in image 1.

17. When changing (only) the color in the character style the text is changing from place

    When changing (only) the color in the character style the text is changing from place. Indesign version 16.4.2, MacOs Mojave 10.14.6
    When I do this by hand there is no problem. For me this is a huge problem because it is the link color in my whole document.
    I am a user of Indesign from the beginning (1.0). I looked and tryed many things and it was never a problem. Hope you can help!

18. delete text crash

    Opened and made a copy (Save As) of an existing doc in ID 17.4, moved to ID 18 when it became available. Replaced about 2/3 of the existing material with new text or images. Found one specific text box that crashed when I tried to delete it. Tried deleting the text in the box, another crash. Tried deleting text in chunks, and got down to just one letter that was causing the crash.

    Fix not required. This is a result of regularly importing Word docs from other people. (The proof is the document recovery notice: the recovery called for links to 1400+ items, when I know that the doc should only have 60 at most.) Also a result of duplicating a doc instead of using a template.

19. DAY 62 - Slow Publish Online document loading - Case ADB-25741223-T9S3

    I'm getting very tired with this - Publish Online still slow loading, feel it's like knocking your head against. a brick wall!!!!
    Since I first reported this major slow-down 62 days ago, it's speeded up a little, but now today, back to the slow stuff. Please, please, please Adobe - listen to what I'm saying, you have a problem with your Publish Online server setup. It used to be incredibly fast loading, now it's sloooooooow!

    I keep getting told it will be resolved in the latest Indesign update - of course it isn't, it's the servers where the documents are stored - that's really simple to understand isn't it?

20. Error encountered while reading TIFF image

    Adobe Indesign 2023 (v18).
    When render TIFF images from Blender using the Deflate (ZIP) option.
    All other compression options gives images with black background and no transparency.
    Up to v17 Indesign 2022 these images imported just fine.
    When doing a resave in Photoshop with no changes, the images imports fine.
