Ctrl + Alt + X
To use the shortcut "Ctrl + Alt + X" to do a hard space in the text is impossible - it doesn't work at all. When I press "Ctrl + Alt + X" I start some sort of screenshot function. When I chose "Hard space" from the menu it works as it should do.
So please help, I miss my "Ctrl + Alt + X" -function.
1. InDesign 2017.1

3. I expect to get a hard space in the text.

Well... you obviously have some kind of screen shot function associated to that keyboard shortcut. You need to remove that (either the shortcut or the whole program unless you want to keep it) to let InDesign use the shortcut.
This has nothing to do with InDesign or Adobe, it's just a program that you have installed or that came with your computer.Another way is to assign another keyboard shortcut to the "Insert White Space: Non breaking space" menu command. You can do that in the Edit / Keyboard shortcuts... menu of InDesign.
