1. Slow start opening files or switching between apps

   The last Indesign version 14.0.1. on my iMacPro 3,2 GHz Intel Xeon W (Radeon Pro Vega 56) running Mojave (10.14.3) shows the rainbow wheel on every startup and on every time switching apps (via command + tab) takes about 30 seconds - impossible to work!

2. ePub incorrect color conversion of placed images

   Mac running 10.14.4
   InDesign 14.0.2 working color space is sRGB
   Image placed has embedded profile of sRGB
   Native InDesign content created with color numbers matching those in image
   Exported to ePub

   Result: RGB color numbers of native object correctly match those of original sRGB numbers BUT those of the placed image have changed. The numbers indicate they have been converted to the active display ICC profile!
   Happens whether object export options on image are set to JPEG or PNG.

   I confirmed this by changing the monitor profile in System Preferences and relaunching InDesign. the exported image's color numbers changed to the color numbers of the new monitor profile.

   Expected result: all RGB content should be converted to sRGB or, less optimally, all RGB color numbers could remain the same.

   Mac running 10.14.4
   InDesign 14.0.2 working color space is sRGB

3. Smart folder (Mac) not showing items

   When trying to place a file with "File/Place", smart folders in the file browser do not load any items to select from. Same also with image relinks.
   Strangely the same thing with "File/Save as" works fine.

5. Accessibility-Tag Tree-Data Merge

   ID 14.0.1, Mac Pro, Sierra 10.12.6
   Tags are not in proper order in exported PDF
   Using Data Merge to create many pages of text and table from large Excel file Col A-FF. Each row produces one page. The first section of the page tags are at the top of the tag tree, followed by the first section of each successive page. Then the Next tags (from the tables) are listed, again by successive pages.
   To remediate, all (table) tags have to be moved to the proper page.

6. InDesign totally unusable for large threaded tables after 2015 version

   Using Windows 10 Pro, high end computer (Ryzen 1800X, 32Gb RAM, NVMe SSD, 1080Ti)

   Create an Excel file with 8000 rows of random data, place into InDesign with as unformatted table.

   Use shift-click to create pages and thread the table to each page.

   Try to scroll without InDesign freezing for 30 seconds. I can't.

   I have tried:
   - Cleaning preferences / logging on different username to have a fresh profile
   - Using a different computer
   - Turning off preflight
   - Using fast display performance
   - Change the composer away from world ready, trying single line instead of paragraph
   - Turned off Type Contextual Controls

   There is ONE thing that works: use InDesign 2015. Nothing after that, up to CC2019 / 14.0.2, is even remotely usable. I do this kind of work a lot and it's a shame the newer versions don't work for me.

7. InDesign 14.0.1 is crashing hourly

   For three days my InDesign 14.0.1 has been crashing almost exactly hourly. It just freezes and I get the spinning beachball. Only recourse is to re-start my Mac. I've uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times. Prior to this, I had downloaded Lightroom... I thought this might have been the initial cause. I uninstalled Lightroom and all my Adobe products. Any ideas?

8. Variable chapter number

   The variable 'chapter number' gives a problem, wherever it is used it is represented as '1'.
   Because chapter numbers and paragraph numbers are not included in the Continuous header, it is useful if it can be displayed separately.
   Is it possible to include this numbering in the variable in the future (as an option)?

9. Problems with zoom on tablets wacom

   The Zoom function (Zoom In and Zoom Out) made with two fingers directly on the Wacom tablet (in my case an Intuos Pro L) or made using the Wacom Touch Ring tablet still does not work in InDesign, for a long time, with different versions of InDesign and with different operating systems (OS Mavericks - Sierra-High Sierra and now also Mojave ...).
   All this is very frustrating, because it eliminates a very important function for those who have to paginate!
   On all other programs (Illustrator, Photoshop and competition programs - Affinity Designer and Affinity Publisher Beta) it works regularly: I have already reported this bug on other occasions and every time there is an InDesign update I hope this problem will be finally solved but REGULARLY, for years now, I am disappointed every time, because the problem continues to exist: please, adobe, DO YOU WANT TO SOLVE IT ONCE AND FOR ALL, since every year I spend a lot of money for your subscription? Or do you want me TO DEFINITELY SWITCH TO AFFINITY APPS that cost a lot less and at least work properly?
   I'm waiting for an answer from adobe, THANKS!

10. tabulator

    When I have a text on a path and I want to set a tabulator it is not possible to insert the number for the position correctly. There is only one cypher you can insert, die second one will not work. On top, there is the behaviour, sometimes when you insert the number, it will insert the text into the text on the path.

    Fakt is, ist is not possible to work with that.

13. Stroke on outside of shape breaks for compound paths

    This bug has existed for some time and is still in InDesign 14.0.1.209 for Macintosh.

    A stoke aligned to the outside of a compound path is on the outside of the outer paths, but on the inside of the inner paths. The attached image shows a stroke on the outside of text, as it should appear, and on the outside of the same text converted to paths. The stroke on the counters of A, O, and R is on the wrong side of the path.

14. panels / windows won't open, InDesign doesn't launch 80% of the time

    Honestly wasn't sure what to file this under. I am running the latest version of InDesign (version 14.0.2). About 4/5 times when I click to launch InDesign, it bounces for several minutes and then nothing happens... and then it stops bouncing and the dot under the app also goes away, yet the app says its open - still no windows. Eventually - usually after about 10-15 minutes of waiting - I have to right click, quit, and start again.

    But this is the part that really bothers me: When it finally does open properly and loads a document, many of the panels just will not open even after I select them from the menu. Most of the time I can't open any windows or panels within the app. And I NEED to be able to open the glyphs and corner options panels, but I haven't been able to open them for over a month, and I use this program on a nearly daily basis. Additionally, the color picker tool within the color popup does not work, but the regular tool within the toolbar does. I also have issues with the align and distribute options appearing and disappearing from the top bar. The options disappear after selecting an object, changing windows or navigating to a different app momentarily, and they will not reappear unless I click the gear icon of the panel and confirm the options again. Sometimes this doesn't work and then I have to quit and reopen the whole thing again.

    I'm running Mac OS High Sierra 10.13.6. I am going to have to uninstall and rollback to the 13.1 version of InDesign for now because I have clients waiting and I need to turn stuff over faster, but if more information is needed I can reinstall. Never had this issue in the 2018 version, but it's been a regular occurrence in the past few updates.

    Could you please try reinstalling InDesign application after clearing up(or renaming) your preferences and cache for InDesign 2019(14.0).
    If you still face the issue after doing the above, please share with us some screenshots and(or) small video demonstrating the problem.

15. 'Remember last export format' still not working

    I posted a bug report on this a while back but I can't find it now.

    This feature still isn't functioning for us.

    InDesign only remembers the format of the last file exported.

    So I just exported an InDesign file as a JPEG, and then when I returned to a file I worked on an hour ago, that I last exported as a PDF, the 'remembered' last export format is JPEG.

    So NOTHING is being remembered across individual files at all.

    This would be a great feature if we could get it working, but it simply doesn't work. Deleting preferences and Saved data files got it working briefly, but it reverts to not working within minutes.

    We're up-to-date with InDesign and running our Macs on Sierra 10.12.6

    I posted a bug report on this a while back but I can't find it now.

16. Links panel

    When you highlight a link in the document, it used to highlight the corresponding image in the links panel, so you could easily edit or replace, instead of having to scroll through the links panel trying to identify the asset from the thumbnail. A minor workflow thing but it makes a difference. Would love to have this feature back in.

17. indesign not packaging, updated to mojave 10.14.6 last week

    Just updated to Mojave 10.14.6, I cannot package my indesign files, it gets half way through and freezes. When I try to cancel, the spinning wheel comes up and the application does not respond, then I have to force quit. Help! I have catalogs to package up.

19. Adding htmlItem then closing document crashes inDesign on Mac

    We are developping a plugin for inDesign and while testing a new feature on a Mac we noticed that sometimes InDesign was crashing. We managed to reproduce this bug in a very simple indesign script that make inDesign crash 100% of the time and I'm looking for a way to get around this inDesign bug.

    The crash occurs when we programatically add an htmlItem to a pageItem then close the document too quicky, It's only on Mac, doing that on windows works perfectly. The crash error seems to be a memory usage problem on inDesign's side.

    Here is the script code :

    other observations :

    -Doing a sourcePageItem.htmlItems[0].remove(); to remove the htmlItem after adding it doesn't change anything, so the problem comes from using the function htmlItems.add() and not having an htmlItem in the document.
    -Delaying the close by using $.sleep(5000) before fix the crash, but we can't rely on it as the delay needed increase with the number of htmlItems added and it might be different from a computer to another due to performances.
    -Saving the document or not doesn't change anything

20. Workspace not loading correctly

    I use multiple screens on my Mac running 10.13.6 OS.
    I continually loose one of my palette sets from view. When I load my custom workplace the character \ paragraph / etc appear as I have saved them, but this randomly disappears - if I go to window and select character the spinning wheel tales 10 - 15 seconds to load up the pallet again and all is Ok for a while, then it disappears again - Tried saving a new workspace many times but always same thin happens - this is only happening after the last update.
