1. InDesign CC 2018/High Sierra - Cannot package files

   Since updating to High Sierra I am not able to package files. The error message is simply "Unable to package the document. InDesign cannot access '(file name'.indd).

   I am using InDesign CC 13.0.1 on macOS High Sierra 10.13.1

   Don't know if this is of any use or not, but also if I try using my bulk packaging script, the error I get is "undefined is not an object (line 186)

   Hello All,
   The issue has been fixed with Apple’s MacOS High Sierra 10.13.4 Beta (17E139).

   You can try out the fix by updating your machine to the beta update from Apple.
   Let us know if the issue is fixed for you after aforementioned High Sierra beta update.

2. Input field sizes in the "Document setup" pop-up.

   The sizes of width and height input fields are different. Make them the same.

3. InDesigns gives me random stuff when clicking on an option

   Recently, I'm in for a surprise when trying to use InDesign. I click on a certain option, and something random pops up, for example while typing this, I'm clicking on "Window > Pages", I'm getting redirected to Adobe website to buy InDesign (note, I already bought the license). Clicking again, redirected to another InDesign file, clicking another time, now I get my Table Style, basically I get everything except the Pages.

   It's always a surprise what I get and I don't know how to get rid of this issue once and for all. This is the case for every option. Sometimes something random happens, something nothing happens. All my tools seems to work normally, so there's that.

   This is the third time that it happened to me. Closing and reopening Indesign seems to work, although that's not really something that I want to do all the time, but it's necessary since this pretty much breaks the whole program.
   I don't know what causes this, leaving InDesign open for the night, maybe? I have no clue.

   I was working on some stuff for work yesterday, the InDesign files are stored on a server. However when going home, I didn't close the InDesign files, but I did get disconnected from the server, now I'm back at work connected with the server, InDesign still open. Not sure if this is relevant, I honestly wouldn't know why InDesign is acting so weird. If I had to give a timestamp on it, I would say it first happened a month ago? Might be little more or less.

   I've inserted a screenrecording. Sometimes nothing happens, sometimes I get something random (which seems to be most of the case from my experience).

   In InDesign, when I use the ^t shortcut to get the type control panel, I lock up and then have to go to Task Manager and close InDesign. (InDesign 14.0.1 x64, Windows 10 Enterprise Version: 1803)

5. Can't move multiple objects after 14.0.1 of Indesign. And it's sloooowww!

   Trying to move multiple objects, mostly boxes of type. One or several items does not move although selected. Upon undo and trying to move again, other objects doesn't move. And it has gotten so slow but that might be after Mojave 10.14.3 and not Adobe :)

6. Swatches panel locked in Adobe InDesign CC 2017 Win 10

   When editing colours into the swatches panel, the entire panel will be blocked, the colours greyed-out. After having deleted the cache it's OK for a moment, but the problem re-appears regularly. In the specification panel the colours can be nevertheless selected. Who knows the solution to this problem?

7. Indesign CC2019 (oct) - "Do you want to save changes to "-/*TempScratchDocument*/-" on close

   Indesign 14.0.1 x64, german, Windows8 as "Admin"

   On closing Indesign with its "×" button, a dialog popped up asking:

   Do i wanna save changes to "-/TempScratchDocument/-", Yes | No | Cancel.

   This is the first time i have this error. I can not recreate it. Prior to the error i did: made some changes to an open documents spellchecking and hyphenisation settings. I also edited a paragraph format in the doc to use Duden instead of Proximity as Spellchecking/Hyphenisation. I let it re-calculate the flow of the document and saved the document. I closed the doc ument and made changes to indesign default Spellchecking and Hyphenisation settings, setting German to "Duden" and "Duden (Press)" as defaults. I then wanted to close Indesign, when the dialog popped up.

   It was NOT a crash, just this weird Dialog.

   The spinning icon dots are off-centred and rotate awkwardly. It's only visible briefly, but looks clumsy in a premium app.

9. Indesign CC2018 crashes on Cmd-V

   I'm working on my masters and using a Split Window to copy and paste text from the same document into a list of references. Cmd-V crashes Indesign. With no warning, or hang, it literally shows me the desktop, no save, nothing. Thankfully auto recover sorts it out, but this is something Adobe needs to look at. I can't tell if there is anything special about the text other than it was a web link and had a paragraph style.

10. paragraph lines don't fit rounded frame-line

    When using rounded corners on textframes, paragraph-lines don't fit to the right frame.
    We use it with 0,5-pt-framelines and there is a small distance between both lines.
    Depending on typesize (and perhaps on other parameters), the distance has different measures.

11. Menu Items Opens Webpage to Buy InDesign

    Indesign CC 2019
    Multiple clicks on menu items with the same results.
    When clicking on menu items the menu item should appear.
    When clicking on Type>Tabs, About InDesign opens a webpage (see attached) to buy Indesign. Each menu item goes to the same webpage. First time I have had this happen.

12. Gradient Angle Resets to Default when Changing Color in Gradient Swatch

    I have an object selected that has a gradient swatch applied to it, and the gradient goes from top to bottom. I then go to the color menu and double-click the gradient swatch. Now when I click on one of the two color squares in the gradient swatch the angle of the gradient on the selected object will revert back to its default angle (left to right). This only happens to objects that I have selected. Both on my macbook and windows pc. InDesign version 14.0.1

14. Inaccessible URL Link in preflight panel

    Inaccessible URL link option in Preflight panel is not working after implementing Adobe CC version. It was working in CS5 but in all CC version still CC 2019 is not working.

    For Digital purpose we need this option. I attached screen shot for your reference

    In the attached screen shot there is one dead link it shows red color in Hyperlink window, but the indesign preflight panel shows No Error. If its working properly mean it need to be show error

15. Shortcuts and keyboard keys stop working.

    CC2018, Windows 10, latest update as of 01/18/18, x64 system with 12GB RAM. I often have to close and reopen documents or InDesign itself for shortcuts and some keys to work. There does not seem to be a common cause or specific file(s) that sets it off and it may or may not happen to all open documents if more than one is open. Generally closing the document and reopening it helps, but there have been times where I have to restart the program for anything to work. The issue includes any shortcuts and sometimes keys such as the arrow keys when trying to edge a graphic or text box over. Generally, I am able to type in the file name if I am trying to save my work before I close the program, but there have been times that my keyboard is disabled there as well and I have to save over what I have open, rely on the auto-backup file, or duplicate the file in Explorer and rename it so I don't lose the original file. This has not been an issue in any other programs except InDesign and has only been in the past few weeks. The crashing since the last update has subsided, but this issue has not. I would love to know how to fix this.

16. Can't drag objects

    I am unable to drag objects/textbox/etc in InDesign. I can resize using corner handles but I'm unable to click and drag object to desired location I've uninstalled, reinstalled, shutdown, restarted, cleared all settings, etc and nothing seems to work. I have never encountered this issue in all my years of using InDesign. Please help!

    Addressing this problem has been tricky for us given the random nature of the issue.
    Determined to resolve the issue, we had launched our investigation into the matter to identify the root cause and fix it.

    Many of you must have received email from us seeking more details about the issue.

    We have concluded our investigation and came up with the below mentioned finding:

    It was found that, most of the times, users were trying to drag an empty polygon which was leading the confusion because the legacy behaviour of InDesign allows dragging of polygon only from its edges or the centre most point.
    If the user tries to drag it from any other position, the object cannot be moved.

    We have tried to improve the user experience in this regard. You can try the same in InDesign’s latest version id 14.0.3.

    Please download and install id 14.0.3 and let us know your feedback on the new experience.

    Note:
    If you are unable to drag other types of objects (other than empty polygons), please check the memory usage of your system. It has been observed that when the memory usage reaches the critical level, dragging of the objects become difficult.
    As a workaround, you may either try to close some applications or restart the system.

17. Endnotes in text flow - Not on a separate page

    Import endnotes as plain text in the text flow. NOT on a separate page! How hard is this to understand? I groom text in one document and then copy and paste the magazine article/book chapter into another Indesign file. I can't do this if you put the endnotes in a separate text flow. It's really terrible! Dynamic notes has just been a complete failure!

    When exporting a PDF, the progress bar has two frames reversed. As the progress bar moves downwards, it goes from leaving the four bottom lines filled, to the bottom three, bottom two, then an empty bar, then one bar filled. Those last two frames are out of order.

19. Export to Fixed Layout EPUB - Poor Image Quality

    I am currently working on a graphic novel project that I am planning on submitting to apple books as an epub file. The files were created in adobe illustrator and subsequently, linked into adobe indesign to create the final published product. I have noticed that the image quality when exported to epub is far inferior to when that same file is exported to a pdf file. That is regardless of the alterations that you make to PPI or other options (such as altering between PNG, JPG and other file formats) prior to exporting to epub. I have adjusted the PPI to 300 and still the color of the document and the overall image quality lack. I find myself having to ***** open the epub to exchange out the indesign generated files for files that I optimized in illustrator (which can be a painfully tedious process if you have a ton of pages/images to optimize). These newly optimized files look far better at a fraction of the size of the indesign generated files. I located this forum thread from 2011 that actually seems to correspond to my problem (https://forums.adobe.com/thread/871355).

20. No Font Spacing Between Words in InDesign 2019 14.0.x-2 on Mojave 10.14.x-4, Works fine in InDesign 2014 (v10.0.70) on Yosemite (10.10.5)

    Basically, InDesign is unusable with Gujarati Sangam MN on the 2019 version but on 2014 (v10.0.0.70) version on my old Mac (OS X Yosemite, v10.10.5) it works fine.

    What's causing this issue?

    We've tried the following:

    • Contacted Adobe & Apple support: Apple said to contact Adobe, Adobe was unhelpful, they suggested we look up if the font was installed it it is on the new Mac using Font book.

    • Updated Adobe InDesign 2019 to 14.0.2.

    • Arial seems to work, so maybe it's something to do with this font on new Macs or InDesign 2019?

    • Unrelated (because CC was showing trial expired from dropdown but a new account let us test the new update for 7 days, still same issue): https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/limited_access_repair_tool.html#

    Also noticed some images aren't rendering properly coming from Adobe InDesign 2014 to 2019.

    We simply cannot buy InDesign 2019/CC if this issue hasn't been fixed or can't be fixed.

    PS: Is there a way to move all the font options back to the top of the window like in InDesign 2014, rather than on the right?

    Adobe InDesign 2014 on old Mac Yosemite 10.10.5, renders fine (I made the file in this version and have been working with it ever since):

    As you can see the spacing between words is perfectly fine, very annoying how Adobe InDesign 2019 isn't accomodating for this out of the box.

    Any how, I'm thinking of just choosing a template from Adobe Stock templates to redesign this resume, since it's proving so problematic and is due to a refresh. This current resume I designed from scratch in Adobe 2014, but it doesn't seem that portable to 2019 version.
