1. [Copyright-Notice] Automatic Caption for images

   When creation an automatic caption for images it is possible to chose the option "Copyright" but this actually referts to the IPTC - Core "Source" (Quelle) and not the "Copyright - Notice" which is used by Adobe Stock.

   So it is not possible to automaticly use the Adobe Stock Copyright notice because InDesign seems to read the wrong MetaData field.

2. Problem with Object and Table menu

   I'm running the latest version of InDesignCC 2020 v.15.0. Every time I go to the Object or Table menu, InDesign crashes. This happens every time, I had that problem in the previous versions of InDesign, but it is getting really bad now.

   We’ve concluded our investigation and came up with the finding : Either the issue is fixed in the latest release of InDesign or the issue was intermittent in nature at the time of its reporting and is not reproducible now.

   We recommend you to upgrade to the latest version of InDesign 2020 (if you’re not already on it). It contains a lot of stability fixes.

3. InDesign makes incorrect QR code words and we can't decode QR codes correctly.

   Steps to Reproduce:
   1. Object->Make QR Code...
   2. Input strings "問題は日本語を正常に扱えるかどうか。".
   3. Result QR Code is incorrect.

   Actual Result:
   Sometimes, we got the wrong code in Japanese locale.

   Any Workarounds:
   Here is Japanese character strings "問題は日本語を正常に扱えるかどうか。".
   This was coded into the InDesign try and get "image1.png".
   Then, we try to decode it at ZXING decoder. Here is a decoded result (image2.png)

   The top has been encoded in the beginning have you because of 8-bit byte mode from the head with a "0x4". Then, the character codes are used here is UTF-8. Until "... 正常に扱" it has been encoded successfully. But it can not be decoded completely normal the next "え"(12th character) or later.
   In fact, this string is a mode change in a 35 byte. And, now, the used is "0x8" So KANJI Mode. Subsequent bytes will be the number of characters. "0xa" So 10 characters. And compressed into one character 13bit in this mode. Actual rest of the string is "えるかどうか。" 7 is the letter does not match the number of fundamental places because. The code itself will be inferred from the simple result of decoding.A byte sequence that has been obtained is decoded as SJIS but UTF-8 has over encoded as it is. The character code must perform the encoding by converting to SJIS from KANJI Mode. 7 is why this in a letter 21 bytes because it is each of the three-byte count of and 10 characters to compress the two-byte set to 13bit come out.
   A decoder is handled by SJIS because of KANJI Mode. So characters are garbled.

   KANJI Mode makes incorrect code words in InDesign and why mode change in a 35 byte?
   In case of "問題は日本語を正常に扱えるかどうか。" all characters are non-Ascii code range and all characters in SJIS code range. It must be encoded KANJI Mode if using KANJI Mod.
   However, I think it is better to encode 8bit byte mode with UTF-8 all characters.

   I recommend discarding KANJI MODE. I think all characters to be encoded 8bit byte mode with UTF-8 characters is the better way.

   Please upgrade your InDesign application to the latest version to try out the fix.

4. return, tab not working after placing object from library, until mouse is clicked somewhere in text

   InDesign 15.0.1, Mac
   After placing item from libary inline into the text, tab and return keys have no effect until the mouse is clicked somewhere in the text.

5. Tired of Adobe cloud and syncing

   I have had it!
   I have so had it with you Adobe! I'm not even connected to the internet, I'm OFFLINE!!!! In InDesign, when I work with a freaking Google font called "Lato," I expect only the Google Font to be on my system fonts. Yet, you, yes, YOU want me to connect to the internet so that the font "Lato Medium" is synced into my design, which I did not even request to be synced in the first place. I never wanted the **** font, yet you force it down on me. InDesign keeps telling me that the font is missing, but I override it every time with "Lato Bold."

   So, I'm offline, and in my paragraph styles, I replace the font "Lato Medium" with "Lato Bold" and when I apply the paragraph style that has "Lato Bold" applied to it, the paragraph reverts to "Lato Medium" and InDesign keeps telling me that the font is missing. BUT I JUST REPLACED THE FONT WITH LATO BOLD!! I delete the old paragraph style, create a brand new paragraph style, choose "Lato Bold," and still the paragraph reverts to "Lato Medium," which continues to tell me that the font is missing. How in the world of any design program does THIS HAPPEN!!!!!!!!????

   You better get your software sorted, because all you care about is making more money than actually caring about your customers who pay loads of money per month! Why are you like this? I don't understand! I know there are people working at Adobe who do care about making your products better, but you corporates up there who runs the business are too **** stubborn to care about the people that want to use your products.

   I am done with you! Until you get your head out of the clouds of pride, and lower the price and actually listen to your clients for a change, I will never, ever refer anybody to Adobe and I will never use you again! Good Bye!!!!!!!

7. [ CC-2019 and 2020 ] The Convert-Endnotes-To-Footnotes Disaster SCOPE: SELECTION

   Hi together,
   I'm using the menu dialog, not the context menu, for converting endnotes to footnotes. Scope: Selection

   The result is not as expected.

   3 out of 7 endnotes were not converted to footnotes.
   1 additionally was converted, but the corresponding endnote was not removed.

   Trying again with a different selection of the remaining endnote texts:
   Now the first endnote could be converted, I assume because I selected all the endnote text. However the remaining endnotes couldn't be converted.

9. EPUB; Exporting a numbered list to a reflowable pub

   When working with "numbered list: in Indesign, paragraph style work great.

   However after working and exporting it to a reflowable Epub it doesnt respect alignment and moves inward. I have looked up for anyone who has encountered the same problem making sure I wasn't the only one and yup there are others with the same issue.

   I would like not to, for every numbered list in every book, to convert numbering to text. This is something I have seen as an issue since someone commenting since 2014 and not receiving any solution.

   I need to know if there is some type of work around please and thank you

10. [ID-4236500]Repackaged book-document cross-references do not update file path

    A series of documents in a Book have cross-references to one another. All are correct and working properly.

    I create a new package for my publisher and test the cross-references:
    they are pointing at locations in my original files rather than the ones in the new package.

    Since those files exist, the cross-references have good status. Moving that package to a new computer breaks them, of course.

11. Can not start InDesign 2020

    InDesign CC2020 15.0.1 is not running on iMac 27-inch, 2017, MacOS Catalina Version 10.15.3
    When I try to start InDesign, nothing happens.
    In the "Activity Display" of Mac OS, InDesign appears marked in red and cannot be restarted or stopped there, I have to force to quit and to wait some time until InDesign is finished.

    Maybe it has a connection to the following: Photoshop works, but it needs to be terminated with force to quit via the "Activity Display" of Mac OS.

12. Packaging dialogue location default

    Please have the document packaging dialogue default to the folder the InDesign file your packaging from is located in. Up till InDesign 2020 this was the default, now it is packaging things wherever something was saved last.

13. InDesign tries to display interactive help while a script is running

    I've done a fresh install of InDesign and I run a (lengthy) script. InDesign is trying to display some interactive help (and failing to do so) while the script is running.

    Interactive help must be suppressed during script execution!

    The empty help frame stays visible while the script is running.

    This is on Windows 10x64 with InDesign 2020 15.0.1

14. Word Lookup / Search with Google for text

    How about adding a 'word lookup' OR 'search with Google' for words while working with text copy in Indesign and InCopy? I know there is a default dictionary integrated, but I'm talking about the way you can search any sentence or word in the most browsers just by right-clicking.

    Basically, just a feature to add a search engine for text lookups directly from Indesign and InCopy - it will help a lot working with text copies and editing text stories directly from the program.

15. optical margin alignement

    The settings for the optical margin alignment are changed after a program crash (InDesign 13.1.1.): Either (more often) the option is deactivated, but occasionally it is also activated. The text will be wrapped completely new accordingly.

16. Loss of typographic enrichment (italic, bold, etc.) on import .docx files

    On CC2019 14.0.3 but also on previous versions.
    When I import a Miscrosoft Word text I sometimes lose part of the enrichment. On the attached example the majority of Bold are kept but some are gone. This is very problematic when working on documents of several hundred pages.
    The problem occurs with .docx files but not with .doc files.

    Textwrap from old saved document takes spacing from paragraph indent...Thus you can see the very wide right margin for image.

18. Linked in file not showing missing font error

    I have designed several booklets for a customer each targeting a specific audience. Some of these pages are the same like this back cover file which I have made using inDesign and is placed as the last page of all the booklets. When I make a print layout setting up the pages [12/1] [2/11] ... to print as a booklet I place all the pages from the indesign file for each book. This means that my print file references a design file which references a variety of pages and fliers of pdf, ai and indd types. I recently had some upgrades at work which turned off all the fonts managed on a server. Looking at the preview of my print layout file it was obvious that I was needing to activate a font, but inDesign says nothing was missing. I had to open the back cover page file itself before inDesign recognized there was a font problem. This is a very dangerous omission considering if I get in files from a client to print I might not need or want to open their single page originals, but just place them in the order needed to be printed as booklets.

    I have designed several booklets for a customer each targeting a specific audience. Some of these pages are the same like this back cover file which I have made using inDesign and is placed as the last page of all the booklets. When I make a print layout setting up the pages [12/1] [2/11] ... to print as a booklet I place all the pages from the indesign file for each book. 19. not displaying all fonts

    I install fonts from various sources and with various methods and INDD never shows all the fonts in the family. I just installed all 18 fonts from Montserrat through the Typekit site and INDD display 14 installed fonts. Same thing using Extensis Suitcase. I can activate 10 fonts and only 6 will display. Where are the rest of my weights?????

20. Google sheets in xlsx but still "Cannot place... no filter..."

    I try to place a spreadsheet created in Google sheets and saved as xlsx and I get the error message "Cannot place this file. No filter found for requested operation". I am using a Mac & Mojave 10.14.6. My copy of InDesign is subscription.
