  1. inDesign not showing all typekit activated fonts

    Typekit shows fonts activated but they are missing from "find font" windows.

    Font in adobe typekit.
    Font: In adobe type kit, turned ON.

    Font: shown as MISSING in indesign
    Font: not able to replace because it does not show up in "FIND FONT" dialogue

    Available in standard pulldown tab.

    ATTEMPTS TO FIX:
    1 - turned off suitcase
    2 - cleared font cache and rebooted
    3 - unsintalled indesign and preferences, reinstalled fresh
    4 - installed this patch https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/font-manager-crash.html

  2. InDesign Script - find/replace - store in a variable what is in "find what", "find format"

    Tested in InDesign, any from CC to CC2020.

    I was needed a script which can store whatever is there in one or more variables the following:
    - the format from "find format",
    - the format from "change format".
    The code below doesn't works if the paragraph (character) style is in a group style.

    var currFindPrefs = app.findGrepPreferences.properties;
    var currChangePrefs = app.changeGrepPreferences.properties;
    //do something
    //reset preferences
    app.findGrepPreferences.properties = currFindPrefs;
    app.changeGrepPreferences.properties = currChangePrefs;
    The variables can't store the style that are in group styles.
    Only those that are outside of any group.

    Indesign import this PDF and export PDF, result: images are cropped !!!

    Same result Acrobat Pro optimising this PDF !!!

    Acrobat Pro or Indesign print this PDF ok !!!

  5. 15.1 MacBook Pro Fan now running full time since updating to latest version.

    Since installing 15.1 and the update the fan is now running full time. This was not the case in the previous builds of Indesign CC

    MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2019) 2.4 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9 64GB RAM

  6. Language issue

    Is there a way to change the Korean version of this Adobe Indesign to English version. I am a Filipino newsletter lay-out-editor and using the Korean version makes my work totally impossible. Thank you.

  7. 15.1 High Sierra data merge- wont load file when colon (:) is in header

    On selecting data source it does nothing. comma-seperated, tab seperated. All the same issue, the records and headers won't show. Like nothing happens.
    I do get my import options. They don't make any difference either.

  8. PDF Export turns white pages black

    After exporting files (PDF/X-3) out of InDesign CC 15.1 the paper white pages appear black...

    To identify the cause of this issue, we had started our investigation with the aim to resolve it. You might have also received email from us seeking more details to help in our investigation.

    We’ve concluded our investigation and came up with the finding : Either the issue is fixed in the latest release of InDesign or the issue was intermittent in nature at the time of its reporting and is not reproducible now.

    We recommend you to upgrade to the latest version of InDesign 2020 (if you’re not already on it). It contains a lot of stability fixes.

    If you still face this issue even after updating to the latest version of InDesign, please submit the crash report to us. (The guidelines to submit crash are available at (https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/submit-crash-reports.html)

  10. essentials classic hyphenation missing

    I am using essentials classic as I always do, and when you select the paragraph section on the top bar, there's usually a hyphenation button which when clicked, stops it from being hyphenated, but its randomly gone, one second it was there, i pasted text into a text box and now it,s gone. Any clue how to fix this! I have found other ways of using it but the button still hasn't come back!

  15. Indents incorrect when importing Word document

    When importing a Word document that contains some indented paragraphs, the left indent being set to 5mm in Word (for example), once placed in InDesign, these 5mm indents typically show as 4.992mm. This would not neccesarily be a problem except that Find/Change in InDesign will not recognise an indent to 3 decimal places and therefore this cannot be located easily and fixed. This is proving to be a big problem in my workflow as I cannot automate the process of re-styling these paragraphs using InDesign Paragraph Styles with Find/Change.   16. InDesign 15.1 : Workspace doesn't load. Document not launching from Finder.

    When I double-click on an InDesign file to open it , InDesign opens, but the document doesn't launch. I have to open the document within InDesign. AND each time I open a document (if no other documents are open) all my palettes disappear, I have to reload my workspace -- even if I had been working in a different document, but had closed it. (Running OS 10.13.6)

  17. In the latest update 15.1 - text and graphics of previous files display pixelated

    I ran the latest 15.1 update to InDesign. I opened several existing file all with text and graphics (images and placed EPS files). In each file, either the text appears aliased and the graphics look ok, OR the graphics display pixelated and poo quality but the text renders correctly. Changing the "display performance" slider make no difference.

    I opened a brand new document and typed in some text and imported a graphic and all displays correctly. But if i create a new file and copy and paste text and graphics from one of my previous files that does NOT display…

  18. copy/paste of URL loses character style

    ID 15.0.2; Mac OS 10.14.6

    1. copy a passage containing a URL formatted with a character style

    2. paste the passage

    expect char. style to be retained

    actual: char.. style is eliminated; reverts to [None]

    This happens when char. style is named 'Hyperlink' or when a char. style with another name is used.

    Related issue: 'New Hyperlink from URL' always creates and applies default char. style Hyperlink unless I name my char. style for URLs 'Hyperlink'; 'hyperlink', for example, will not be applied.

  19. Text-fields behave strange after InDesign 2020 update

    Since the release of InDesign 2020 there frequently appears a circumstantial bug, that is not reasonable in any way:

    When i double click (edit) or just copy any text-box, suddenly the content is moving downwards (about 3pt), so that it disappears in overflow text and has to be realigned. It even happens when I copy and paste those Elements or duplicate the whole page, so one of the most fundamental functions became futile (image "Adobe-Indesign-Bug-duplicate.jpg")!

    Additional the maximum height of the box, before the text disappears in overset, isn't depending on the contents height like in older versions, but is…

  20. Print thumbnails to postscript — file unusable

    When I print thumbnails [or a booklet] to a postscript file, InDesign 15.0.2 creates the file, but it cannot be read in either Preview or Acrobat.

    You need to allow for a useable PS/PDF export for sharing thumbnails or booklets with colleagues who do not use InDesign.
