Text rendering bug – the edited text is rendered over older version of the text
I work on a book. While editing the book, I face constant rendering issues: the updated text is rendered on top of the unaltered text. It happens irregularly many times a day. The problem is not document oriented nor platform specific. I started to make screenshots in March and the bug is still present.
It is very annoying. The only solution is to switch to Selection tool and the change select the Text tool. If you seriously edit a document and you face rendering bugs every five minutes, it is pain **********.

Same here. I've seen it since I started doing books with InDesign 2020 and the problem still exists in 2022. My coworker has the same problem so that's 3 computers now. All macOS... Sierra, Catalina, Big Sur and Monterey.
Usually it's just a delay of a couple of seconds before it refreshes but often text can be "overlapped" or even entirely disappear until you refresh, such as switching to preview mode and back again.
