1. eyedropper options

   I'm using InDesign 2020 and lately when I (accidentally) double click the eyedropper tool in the toolbar, it opens the Eyedropper Options window. There's an "OK" and "Cancel" button. When I click on either I can't close the window. It stays in the foreground in all applications. I can move it around, but not close it. The only way I've been able to get rid of the window is to force quit InDesign.

2. InDesign 2020 15.0.1 CEP panel size bug on Windows HiDPI with scaling > 100%

   On some Windows workstations, my InDesign CEP panel has the wrong size (way too large). This looks like a re-surfacing of the old bug mentioned here:

   InDesign version 15.0.1

   • Steps to reproduce:

   Install this dummy sample 'Hello World' panel into InDesign 15.0.1 on Windows 10 on a workstation with a HiDPI display. Make sure the Windows Display Scaling it set to 100%

3. Adobe indd 2021

   The welcome page has a bug. The filenames are double. In addition to that, we do not get a notice anymore if somebody else is trying to open the same document. Really annoying. Hope you´ll be able to fix it.

4. Saving... way to define

   With the version 16.0, InDesign doesn't find the way to the file when I save it. I have to define it every time, it is not very convenient.

6. [ID-4216162]A splitted footnote with three lines violates keep options and makes a widow instead of an orphan

   1. Version of Adobe InDesign
      This issue appears in every InDesign versions since footnotes are supported.
      Bug reports / feature requests (from CS3 up to CS6) have been ignored in the past.

   2. Steps to reproduce the issues
      given:
      a) a footnote with three text lines
      b) splitting footnotes allowed in the footnote options
      c) keep options: at start/end of Paragraph 2/2 (2 lines at start, 2 lines at end)

   Play with the textframes hight so that the footnote is forced to be splitted. It will only split 2/1, not 1/2.

   1. Actual result
      The footnots splits with 2 lines in the textframe within the footnote starts and ends with one single line (widow) in the next textframe.

   2. Expected result
      a) best choice: hold the keep options!
      (e.g. 2 at start / 2 at end; so don't split a footnote with 3 and less lines).
      b) alternative: make an orphan (full line at the start of a footnote paragraph) instead of a widow; widows are absolutely not allowed (because they ony fill a part of a line, maybe only one word)

   3. Test file, screenshot, video or GIF capturing the issue (optional)

7. bad export of styles' tags

   I have a problem with bag export of the styles' tags to ePUB with the latest InD. It's shortens the filled names of the HTML classes in the CSS file and makes some own different names in the .html files itself. It's quite messy then :(

8. Renaming hyperlinks shared destinations: broken links in exported PDF

   Hello,

   I encounter a serious issue with InDesign 2020 (15.0.3) when renaming hyperlinks shared destinations (linking pages in the same document):

   Those links seem still working in InDesign when clicking a page icon in the Hyperlinks panel (it leads to the proper destination page)
   They don't work anymore after the PDF export in Acrobat (the links are clickable but they lead nowhere)
   I had to re-create all the shared destination links in the document, which is a huge waste of time at least and makes the feature very unreliable.

   Test A

   A 3 pages InDesign file (and the related exported PDF).
   3 shared destinations leading to each page, named Page 1, Page 2, Page 3.
   3 links on each page, set using the shared destinations.
   All works fine in this file once exported as interactive PDF.

   Test B

   Same file as Test A except i renamed these shared destinations:
   Page 1 > Page 1-Renamed
   Page 2 > Page 2-Renamed
   The links using these shared destinations don't work anymore once exported as interactive PDF.

9. Column Rules fail if a Table is the first item in a Text Frame

   (Hmm ... tried to attach an INDD file and I'm told they're not allowed. Really? OK ... will try a ZIP file with the INDD inside. Nope ... ZIP won't work either. Uploading a PNG screenshot)

   Please see the attached sample file.

   On page 1 and 2 you will find a variety of 2-column frames with column rule applied.

   In each case, the column rule will fail BECAUSE the first item in the frame is a Table. But, on page 2 I've added one extra example where a leading paragraph does exist, and because of this the column rule is ok.

   I suspect the problem stems from the basic idea that a Column Rule will not appear in a text frame if there is NO text in the frame. Actually ... I'm not 100% sure I agree with that operation. If the column rule would appear with our without text, then this would solve the problem. But ... that might cause other problems.

   Either way ... the Table is not being recognised as a valid trigger for the column rule to be invoked.

10. Random pdfs displaying weird text placement

    Since Adobe updated my InDesign to 2021, I have been having issues with fonts showing correctly in placed pdfs. Sometimes text will be completely removed. Other times text is displayed enlarged, upside down and reversed. It is not all pdfs. Sometimes it is just one page in a pdf that displays badly. Please fix this bug. It is very annoying when I'm trying to paginate and print files for clients.

11. Coloured background in text when using other language than English

12. Visibility of levels of embedded AI files are not kept

    When I use an AI file with multiple layers, InDesign 2020 (v. 15.1.3) doesn't keep the right visibility of layers when I update the AI file. The same is true when I re-open the InDesign file.

    Same for InDesign 2021 (v. 16.0)

    Not sure if this also happens with multilayered PSD files, I didn't checked yet.
    Tried to recreate the file from scratch, no way to solve the issue.

    The problem never occurred in previous version of InDesign.

16. New Document Setting

    While setting for a new document, if i pick letter or tabloid size and then create, it wont open. I can only open a document from the "Recent" section, or the three preset sizes which are iPad Pro, Web 1920 or A4.

    But i can't really set the size i am looking for.

17. Page Size Changes- Sometimes don't work, sometimes bug, InDesign is as confused as I am.

    I'm using InDesign 2021. I have been using the option at the bottom the Pages window ("edit page size") to change the size of my document from US Letter to A4 as I offer both sizes of printables in my shop. I noticed tonight that this sizing is being buggy. I went to change my Letter size doc to an A4 size, but A4 was already checked. The rulers confirmed my doc was in Letter. I then tried to change it, but no selections held from that menu. Finally, I just went to the "adjust layout" menu option and changed it that way.

    Is this an InDesign bug, or some kind of user error? All my pages are consistent with one single master.

18. Adobe Fonts not activating

    When I need to activate a font from Adobe Fonts directly from Find Font context menu inside InDesign, it keeps loading indefinitely but never actually activates.

    The only solution is going to Adobe Fonts web page and activate it there.

19. File Info box not displaying CC2020 15.1.1

    File Info box not displaying when trying to add metadata. CC2020 15.1.1, Mac OS Catalina 10.15.5, external Dell monitor. I have tried reopening and overwriting preference files then restart. I have tried deleting library cache for cc15 and then restart. I have disconnected external monitor and restarted. Only solution has been to reopen as cc2019 doc and add there, but some clients make additional changes in 2020 and send back so I still have same issue. I keep having to force quit to get program to restart each time I try and open file info.
    I saw someone had issue in 2019, but no responses had been noted. Mine DOES work in 2019, but bugs in 2020, so I try not to use it.

20. Round Picture Frame with Inner Stroke Leaks

    Using a circular Image Frame with an Inner Stroke, let some of the placed graphics (in this case an .ai) leak outside.

    This makes it useless, and causes the need to add extra elements to cover the artifacts.

    It is visible in both InDesign preview (High Quality) and the exported .pdf.
