hyperlink conflict when exporting epub
Indesign 16.01
manual back-linking of endnotes: since indesign does not generate back links from endnotes in exported pdfs (unlike in epub), I made a manual backlink by defining a text anchor on the endnote reference in the text and hyperlinking the number of the endnote to that anchor.
After doing this however, if i then try to export as an epub it seems the manual hyperlink causes a conflict with the epub export, which results in the program freezing indefinitely requiring manual shutdown by ending task in Windows (10. 20H2)1 vote -
Trouble Exporting pdf from InDesign
Trying to export via PDF presents (Like I have done many many times before) Made a few minor changes to the document and now Indesign refuses to export and brings up the following error message (see image.) This is with latest version.

The Book panel does not remember its size and location
The Book panel is the only panel in InDesign that doesn't remember its size and position when you close and re-open it.
Steps to reproduce:
- Create a new book (File > New > Book). The book panel is shown at the centre of the screen. No need to add documents to it.
- Move the panel to another location on the screen, and change its size in the usual way (click-drag on a corner of the panel).
- Save the book and close it.
- Re-open the book.

15 votesBook panel is a special type of panel that is always associated with the .INDB file – unlike other panels where there is no actual association with a file on disk. The panel also shows the name of the Book file. If that INDB file is deleted, then the panel does not have any meaning.
Only when the Book file is opened is the Book panel available. So it can’t be part of a workspace & thus its size and location also can’t be fixed as there could be multiple Book files that can be opened simultaneously.—

buttons and forms text color
The Buttons and Forms Palette only allows for text size and font but not for text color and alignement (other than left) for creating forms for PDF these functions are essential to have !!!

Downloading PDF after publishing to Adobe
when i publish the document to the Adobe - Cloud; it does provide me option to download to PDF; however that PDF is not interactive PDF.. is there a setting for that ?

Helvetica Neue Packaging Issue
Issues after updating to the latest version of InDesign. Helvetica Neue is not being recognized after update and will not display correctly. Screenshots attached for reference. Most typefaces are TTF. Was packaged and printed correctly on last version and now facing these issues.

InDesign: Nach Update auf 2021 ist komplettes Dokument zerschossen
Hallo,
nach dem wir von 2020 (15.1.2) auf 2021 (16.x.x) upgedatet hatten, hat es unsere kompletten Magazinseiten zerschossen. Headlines // Fließtexte etc wurden komplett durcheinander gerührt und nicht mehr an der richtigen Stelle stehend angezeigt.Unsere kompletten Stilvorlagen (Absatz- und Zeichenformate) wurden total zerschossen.
InDesign erschwert uns von Update zu Update unsere tägliche professionelle Arbeit.
Wir sind nun erstmal wieder auf die alte Version gegangen, das hat zum Glück funktioniert – aber der Frust in der täglichen Arbeit bleibt!
Wir können nicht ständig unseren kompletten Workflow umstellen! Das geht einfach nicht.

ID very slow on creating packages
ID 15.1.2 on MBP 15" 2019 macOS Catalina 10.15.6
Since updating to ID 15.1.2 creating packages (File > Package) takes sooooo much time – especially collecting image files into the Links-folder. Feels like using a last century internet connection to copy them instead of a ssd. Really bad: There's no progress shown on the progress bar. The only way to figure out that ID still works ist to check the Links-folder again and again where you can see the files dropping in one after another …1 vote -
Some spreads gone grey and only export as blank pages in 15.1.1
I have a 48-page magazine about to go to print and three spreads have suddenly gone grey - as you see in screenshot. In the Pages panel they appear blank and when I export them - also blank. Getting worried...
Separately, the "Fit Page/Spread in Window" instead zooms in to 2,642% magnification.

PDF exports spreads when set to single pages
In ID2021, when I export this document as single pages in interactive mode, it exports as spreads. When I save as IDML and open in 2020, it works.

unwanted space at line beginning (Thai language)
when paragraph contain Latin text or number or space at end of the line, many times when shrinking or expanding text frame, indesign cut the line and put space at beginning of the next line where those Latin text or number goes.

Preview screen messed up
Preview Screen is not displaying file names correctly.

Share For Review, only getting shape tool and pin tool.
In share for review, I only see the pin tool and the shape tool. All of the other reviewing tools that I should be seeing are missing. They appear briefly and then disappear.
2 votesIf the Share for Review was created using the previous version of InDesign – InDesign 2020 (v 15.1/v15.1.1/v15.1.2), then only 2 Tools are visible in the browser – Pin and Draw.
The new Text Tools in Share for Review – Highlight, Strikethrough, and Replace are available ONLY if :
1) Share for Review is initiated from InDesign 2021.
2) Opening a document that was created in an earlier version and initiating Share for Review from InDesign 2021.
3) For Share for Review created from InDesign 2020 (v 15.1/v15.1.1/v15.1.2), you click on the Update Link button in the Share for Review panel in InDesign 2021. (You may have to hit the Refresh button in the browser if the Review was already open there).—

When I'm trying to place for example photo in frame (cmnd+D of File -> Place...) nothing won't happen. Just rolling the beach ball...

IndexOptions are lost in IDML when you use styles in a style group
Version Indesign 2020
Steps to reproduce.
1. Create a document with an index
2. Create styles for the index in a style group
3. Generate an index with the styles that are in a style group
4. Save as IDML
5. Open the IDML
6. Try to generate the indexExpected result: The settings/options in 'Generate Index' are kept as they were in the original file.
Actual Result: The options are reset to the default styles, not the styles inside the style group.

InDesign 2021 is not displaying my documents correctly
I just opened my CV created in InDesign 2020 and after the update to 2021 font styles have changed and text is partially not displayed at all. This leads to the document's layout being off and not usable.

Arrange object after unhide
Using Adobe InDesign 15.0.1 x64 (CC 2020), after I unhid several linked image objects, I was unable to arrange those elements forward or backward to make it visible on top of other elements. The objects were not locked as I checked several times and even copying / pasting them would not allow me to rearrange them. Restarting solved the problem after I spent 20 minutes fighting with it.
