1. Track changes slow

   The track changes feature is very slow. If I click on »accept and search for next« (sorry, I’m running a German locale of InDesign) in a long document (100+ pp.), I’ll have to wait for the next tracked change.

2. Applications freezing while exporting/saving

   Hey Team,
   Indesign ocasionally freezes while hitting cmd+e for export. Also Illustrator and Photoshop freeze from time to time while saving or exporting files ...

   1. Indesign 15.03. 64 bit Illustrator 24.1.3 64 bit Photoshop 21.1.3
   2. Can't reproduce - only happening from time to time but every 10 Minutes or so
   3. Expected: saving or exporting
   4. Actual: freeze so that I have to kill the process via task manager (win 10 - uptodate)

   It ist a big pain since 2 weeks or so .. please fix it. Ah and I use shortcuts to export or save. I try if the error still persists when going the manual way per menuclicking.

   Another thing that caught my eye is: After a crash i restart the application and especially indesign doesnt recognize the screen resolution and opens with a veeeery big window ... I need to "fit to screen" to make it apply to my resolution.

   We’ve concluded our investigation and came up with the finding: Either the issue is fixed in the latest release of InDesign or the issue was intermittent in nature at the time of its reporting and is not reproducible now.

   We recommend you to upgrade to the latest version of InDesign 2021(v16.0.0.77) as it is more robust and contains a lot of bug fixes.

3. Handtool Spacebar not working (CC2020)

   When ending Sleep Mode on my MacBook Pro, the Handtool via the spacebar in InDesign does not work nor in any other Adobe Application. No other Application open besides Mail. Restart Applications doesn´t help. Just a whole Restart of the Computer.

   Happens with macOS Mojave (10.14.6)

4. Multiple text line links tab out of order

   Not sure if InDesign or Acrobat issue: Using 13.1. InDesign - Recently noticed that if I have text that flows to 2 lines and that has a hyperlink behind it, in Acrobat, the tags show the link as having two Link-OBJR, but they are the reverse of reading order. So if you tab the page, you go from 2nd line of text to first. So,

   'Go to
   the store'

   tabs as if it is 'the store' 'go to'. The underlying link is fine--no issue there--it's the tab order and tag order (tag order perhaps then impacting screen readers/accessibility???).

   This is in a single paragraph block, so not an issue of Article content out of order--the system is doing this. I think this is a recent bug (last 4-6 months?) --but whether in how InDesign feeds this to Acrobat or how Acrobat interprets, I don't know. I can manually fix in Acrobat but re-ordering the Link-OBJR tags, but it makes no sense that I should have to do so. Any idea what is going on?

5. Slow

   Ever since these latest updates to InDesign, the performance is slow even with Display Performance set to Fast. I looked through the RAM and made sure no other settings were making it lag. I've uninstalled and reinstalled with no difference in performance. There shouldn't be a need to update InDesign so frequently, I've used Adobe products for over 10 years and these updates are making the usability go backwards.

6. Version 15.0.2 - Duplicate folder saving to desktop

   After moving a packaged folder from the desktop, if I go back to edit the file it creates a duplicate folder to the desktop with only the contents of Document fonts (which does not include all fonts). Definitely a concern of saving over existing data.

7. Unable to remove External Plug-ins

   Third party plugins were used in the received indesign file for further edit. Unable to remove those plugins and getting an error message while packaging the file.

9. Problem with changing the cursor to text - Indd 2020

   Hello. After running the latest version of InDesign CC 2020 v. 15.03. x64, I have a problem with changing the cursor to text and to back. It takes about 40-50 seconds. This happens each time you launch InDesign. The size of the processed file does not affect the error. Thanks for feedback.

10. Character Alternates Contextual Menu not working in InDesign with Hebrew Support

    Note the following checkbox:

    Preferences > Advanced Type > Type Contextual Controls > Show for Character Alternates, Fractions, Ordinals and Ligatures

    If checked, whenever a character is selected a contextual menu with alternates should appear (if supported by the font, of course).

    It's working in the English (International) version, but not in the English (Hebrew Supporting) version.

11. Lost information in Links and Color/swatches Indesign 2020

    The information in the windows for Links and Color/swatches (Think it is the name in English) have disappeared. I have tried to restart program, restart computer and various other adjustment, but no result. The information does not show. I have both color and links in my work.

12. Open recent items gone!!

    Up until the last version of Indesign, we could go File > Open Recent and find files that we've been working on. With the latest update 15.0.2 this has now gone :(

    Now I'm using MORE time going through Finder to find these files!!

13. Paragraph bottom border overlaps the text

    As I mentioned here: https://community.adobe.com/t5/indesign/paragraph-bottom-border-overlaps-the-text/m-p/11348398?page=1 the issue occurs when I set a paragraph style with a border and additionally anchor a text frame at the end of it. The border overlaps each time changes to text are made (additional lines, adding a page, deleting a page – everything that causes the flow of the text).

    Some similar issue was reported here https://indesign.uservoice.com/forums/601180-adobe-indesign-bugs/suggestions/38784706-footnotes-in-paragraph-borders-style by swapan.

    InDesign version ID 2020 15.1.1 and PR Installer (15.1.2.221) on Windows 10. The problem occurs since I have started using a combination paragraph border + anchored text frame (more than 8 month ago). For testing I created totally new files with demo content (Lorem ipsum) and totally new styles created inside the new files. The preferences were reset.

    It is easy to manage it manually when you have a single file and only one paragraph bordered. Making any change inside the paragraph adjust the bottom border. But when you have a book with over 30 files with over 30 problematic frames, it is hard to manage it.

14. Hyperlink shows up grey in hyperlinks panel despite the URL NOT working

    When using the hyperlinks panel, links will show up grey when the URL is non existent, they don't show up as red.
    The screen shot shows group 42 which is grey, when it should be a red error.

15. some lines in textbook can no longer be read, whole line blacked out in Indesign 15.1.2

    After updating to InDesign 15.1.2
    some lines in some text boxes are blacked out, text cannot be read anymore
    I used Arial. A few other fonts show the text, but do not remove black line of unused text.
    I can make text white, it will then show up on black background.

17. idml pasteboard

    When exporting file from indd2020 to idml, the pasteboard automatically disappears. Whatever the pasteboard dimensions were before, it becomes 0,0 when converted to idml.

18. IDML export corruption

    This bug produces an IDML file with misplaced or missing elements.

    It stems from having a second master page based on another master page.

    When that second master page (based on another) is applied to a page in document, then saved as an IDML, the resulting IDML file will have misplaced or missing elements on the relative pages.

    TEMPORARY WORK-AROUND:
    While viewing the second master page (based on another), choose Override All Master Page Items from the side Pages menu. OR, simply do not base any master pages on other master pages. The resulting IDML file will look exactly like the original INDD file.

19. BUG - 2020 - Scripting - GREP - Can't replace by empty string

    In Indesign 2020, changing a GREP search result to an empty string doesn't work.

    app.changeGrepPreferences.changeTo = "";

    In a Text search it does work perfectly...
