  1. Unknown error while exporting PDF. Indesign v16.0.1, macOS 11.1 when turning on bleeds and flattening transparency.

    My friend on Windows had no problems exporting the same document in the same settings.

  2. Endnote references are not importing when placing word documents

    I am placing a word 365 document into InDesign 2020 with endnotes ticked to be included and the endnote references are not importing. In the past the endnote references will display in-text and a full endnote reference list will display on the last page in one text box. I have tried using 2018/2019 with the same result. This appears to be a new bug. I have attached screenshots of the Word document with endnotes displayed and the InDesign document after placing the same word document which shows the endnotes have not been imported.   3. [ID-4216943]Slow InDesign

    This latest update for late August/September is really really really slow. It lags crazy. It's not efficient to work in. Even with small documents.
    It's the most unpleasant InDesign experience ever!

  4. Crash Adobe InDesign CC v15.02-v15.1

    It freezes when openning the program (Starting up Service Registry...) Adobe InDesign CC v15.02-15.1 (Installed Language: English International)

    (But Adobe Creative Cloud for Teams: Photoshop, Illustrator, Bridge and Acrobat DC are fine.)

    My Computer:

    PC Dell Inspiron 5680
    OS: Windows 10 Pro v2004 (64bit)
    Processor: Intel Core i7-8700 3.2GHz.
    HDD: 256GB SSD
    RAM: 16GB
    Display card: NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1070
    Display resolution: 1920x1080 Refresh rate: 60Hz.
    Monitor: Dell S2718H/HX

    The fix of the issue is now available in the latest InDesign 2021(v16.0.0.77). We recommend you upgrade to the latest version for the fix.

    If you are unable to see the update, go to the Creative Cloud application and click on the context menu on the top right and click on Check for App Updates.

  5. Cannot use bold version of Adobe Caslon Pro in version 16.0.1

    In the 2021 version of InDesign, the bold version of Adobe Caslon Pro does not work. It leaves a blank space, and if you click on the opentype box, it says "opentype properties are not applicable." The font itself is not the problem...I cannot reinstall the fonts because creative cloud tells me they are already there. Caslon and all its versions are also correctly installed in my windows fonts folder. I also cannot export to a PDF when I have the bold version of Caslon on a page. I CAN see, print, and use the bold font in older versions…

  6. Won't allow me to create a new document. Acts like it will, but doesn't.

    Make it woirk. Have to open a document, save as, change all the details and then can make a new document.

    Sucks.

  8. Indesign Saving Files

    In Indesign, the Interactive PDF save option needs to specify the file size before saving, how many MB will be. Just like when we save a JPEG file in Photoshop, it will tell you how many MB of the file will be before saving.

    I would appreciate it if you take this suggestion into consideration.

  9. Crashes when copying and then pasting into Photoshop

    Latest version release 15.1.
    Copied artwork that had eps file and spot color. Selected the group. Copied. Tried to open Photoshop screen (was already opened). InDesign then froze. Then crashed. Seperate elements work fine.. Not the grouped artwork.
    Expected results: Artwork is pasted onto a photoshop layer.
    Actual result: Crashes InDesign. No copy is shown to be pasted.

    To identify the cause of this issue, we had started our investigation with the aim to resolve it. You might have also received an email from us seeking more details to help in our investigation.

    We’ve concluded our investigation and came up with the finding: Either the issue is fixed in the latest release of InDesign or the issue was intermittent in nature at the time of its reporting and is not reproducible now.

    We recommend you to upgrade to the latest version of InDesign 2021(v16.0.0.77) as it is more robust and contains a lot of bug fixes.

    We seek your support in our continual effort to improve InDesign.

  10. Disappointed with Adobe

    For me the last 2-3 InDesign updates have been just misery; I cannot work without the spinning wheel showing for every little change I do, so I have had to work on an older version. I was hoping the last update (15.1) would fix this, but no; I had to install an older version again. When will you fix this lagging problem which has been present in every update the last 1-2 years?

  11. InDesign book has .INDD file extension

    I noticed that in v. 15.1.2 an InDesign "book" file no longer has the .INDB extension, but is now an .INDD. If that is intentional, Adobe needs to update the User Guide at https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/user-guide.html/indesign/using/creating-book-files.ug.html

  12. Location of link,indd & export files

    INDD CC on PC win10
    Working with local files and 2 LAN locations.
    1) Sick of Indd updating every week and forgetting file locations.
    2) the two options "Original Link folder" and "most recent Relink Folder" are meaningless.
    I would like to be able to drag a job folder from the network and work on it with Indesign first looking in that local folder for its links, link folder and fonts instead of the original job folder on the LAN.

  13. Block Html Content

    A few months ago Adobe blocked Html content from most sites. I use a lot of Html content in my presentations.
    I would like this type of content blocking to be reviewed.

  14. [BUG] Text from pdf disappears when placing a pdf

    When placing a (PitStop server certified) PDF some texts in the placed PDF disappear (on screen as well as print).
    Only happens in latests Indesign/photoshop/illustrator, older versions work fine.

    PDF has no errors or problems in Acrobat pro preflight and PitStop server.

  15. IDML: missing Font Style property in Character Style after export

    Version: InDesign CC 2020 15.0.1

    How to reproduce the bug:
    1. Create a Character Style with "Bold" Font Style and apply it to a word/character range
    2. Save in INDD file format
    3. Export the IDML
    4. Open the IDML and you will notice that the bold property for the Character Style was lost

    Expected result: the Character Style should be the same as in the original INDD file

    Actual result: the "bold" property was lost during the export process. The INDD file is fine.

    I verified that InDesign CC 2019 14.0.3 is not affected by this bug.

  16. Tab indent of RTL Numbered List does not line up

    See two screenshots attached, both are using the exact same settings, (Default, just changed to Hebrew numbering)
    in InDesign 2019 (14.0.3) Everything is nicely aligned, vs in InDesign 2020 (15.0) it's jagged, and I'm not able to align it in any way (Tabs, Indenting, etc.).
    I'm using InDesign 2020 תומך עיברית, on Windows 10

    Fix for this issue is now available in the latest update of InDesign 2020 – that is, InDesign 15.0.1

    In the Creative Cloud Desktop application, click on the Updates section on the left. You should be able to see the Update available for InDesign. Please update your InDesign application to this version to try out the fix.

  17. Style Override Highlighter not highlighted when in use

    When I make some style changes in my text, the "Style Override Highlighter" marks theses changes. Great feature, no problem at all.

    But when I 1) quit InDesign and 2) start it again, the changed text is highlighted but the "Style Override Highlighter" icon [+a] is highlighted not at all.

    Solution shortcurt: Click on [+a] in character style panel, then on [+a] in paragraph style panel and it should behave the way it should. But it would be better if it'd be working the way it should.

    Since for most of issue the issue no longer occurs, or is resolved after cleaning InDesign cache and preferences, we are closing the issue

  18. Publish Online feature has issues when viewed in iOS 13

    We are using the "Publish Online" feature inside Adobe Indesign to make some of our content available on our website. We've recently received reports from users with Apple iOS 13 mobile devices that the content is not displaying properly on those types of mobile phones. When the content first opens, if you double tap the page zooms in ok and double tapping again zooms out ok. However, if you try to pinch/zoom, the page blows up very large such that you can only see a couple words and you cannot pinch to get back out. Sometimes double-tapping again takes it…
