1. Cross reference page number not appearing

   While attempting to populate page numbers as cross references the leading text shows up, but the area where the number itself should be appears as a narrow blue box with a pound sterling icon beside it. An attempt to create a new document to test and only importing a couple of elements has cross references crash the program as soon as they are created and applied.

2. Paste without formatting crash !

   InDesign 15.1.3 crashes when using Paste Without Formatting.
   I can reproduce the crash.
   Running macOS Catalina 10.15.7 in French language.

3. [ID-4218828]InDesign, InCopy: linked copy and image files randomly broken

   We are a group of 16 graphic designers working on Macs. Our OS are varied between Sierra, High Sierra and Mojave. We work in InDesign 14.03 and 15.02 (with linked InCopy assets), Bridge 9.1 and 10.03, Photoshop 20.0.8 and 21.1, and Illustrator 23.1.1 and 24.1. We work on Box Drive and store our layout files and absolute-linked image assets there. It is critical that we are able to work on each others’ files in a high-volume, high-production environment. We don’t believe this is an issue related to our connection speeds.

   Looking for a resolution to these issues:

   InDesign: Not all image and InCopy files are automatically updating / relinking to original assets on Box. This occurs when both original and different users open the InDesign file to edit it.

   Box Drive: Writers cannot always see ICML and Assignments files on Box Drive (in the Finder) after an Art Director has exported them for the writer to work on. This typically occurs shortly after exporting the assets.

   Bridge: time to load image previews can take up to 15 minutes for some designers.

4. ID 16.0 – Crashing in Split Layout View When Cutting and Pasting Text

   InDesign crashes when doing the following:

   1. Open or Create a document.
   2. Enable split layout view
   3. Create a text frame in each view
   4. Fill one of the text frames with type
   5. Cut some of the type into the other frame
   6. Cut some more of the type from the filled frame
   7. Copy the text in the other frame
   8. Undo the cutting of the text
   9. Re-cut the text
   10. Paste the text into the other frame
   11. CRASH

   This is present in both ID 15.X and ID 16.0 and crashes with documents created in both new and old versions of InDesign.

5. Image not populating in Data Merge

   I have a file in which I merge in a PDF of a page, along with some variable text. I was seeing an ongoing issue where, when turning on Preview, the PDF image wouldn't appear, but there would also be no error.

   After trying a few things, I realized that placing the pdf I wanted (on the pasteboard) while choosing an appropriate "crop to" setting, then turning Preview off and then on solved the problem.

   I often place images with bleed, and the pdf file in question didn't have a bleed box, so I believe it was failing to import because of improper crop settings.

   If that is indeed the problem, I think some warning message would be in order -- merge shouldn't fail because of a setting I used previously while editing a different document.

   Using InDesign 16.1 x64 on a fully patched Win10 machine.

6. inDesign - Banner warning first time using and preferences may have changed

   WHEN NEW VERSION IS OPENED FIRST TIME
   Can you put up a banner the first time that tells me all my preferences may have blown out because this is a new version to remind me to check?
   Would not help me with this blowing out all the time...

7. PDF exports spreads when set to single pages

   In ID2021, when I export this document as single pages in interactive mode, it exports as spreads. When I save as IDML and open in 2020, it works.

8. v. 16.0 updated backwards to v. 15.1.3

   Hi! My team and I uses InDesign on an everyday basis, and today we ran into a problem.

   A few weeks ago we updated InDesign to the newest version (Version 16.0) - but this morning our Creative Cloud told us there's been a new update and then it updated automatically to 15.1.3?

   We tried to open one of our InDesign files, but it told us that it has been created in a newer version and wanted us to update to that version (Or we could just convert our files and maybe face the consequences of losing some of our content).

   The problem is that we already updated to the newest version weeks ago, but our system thinks that 15.1.3 is the newest version.

   Is there anything we can do? We fear we might lose some of our older files if we uninstall v. 15.1.3

9. Emptiing a text frame when making corrections

   Very often, when making corrections of the text, a text frame (not the one I am working on) is emptied and the text moves one page forward creating overflowed text. In most cases it happens on the next page, but sometimes it can be some other text frame -- forward or backward. I can't tell what is the reason of this behavior because it is different every time.

10. Suddenly you can not save your document in any way.

    You get no warning but suddenly tools etc does not work as supposed and you can not save your work in any way.
    If you use force quit it does not say "not responding" though.

    It happens in this new version and with system BIG SUR on iMac

11. save window so small and compact

    The new version of InDesign's save window by default is small and compact. Why did it change? I work on Server's and very robust paths. it's a pain to always expand the window to just see further down a path to save.

12. hyperlinks

    You create hyperlinks for your pages - and nothing appears in the Hyperlinks panel, so you cannot see what you've already hyperlinked!!!

13. idml crashes InDesign 16.1 Big sur - MacMini M1

    I'm running InDesign 2021 16.1 and Big Sur, and a Mac Mini M1 chip. Every time I save an IDML file, then try to open the .idml InDesign will crash upon opening the IDML.
    I can open the original INDD file, but not the IDML.

14. InDesign Partage pour révision ne s'affiche pas en ligne si on est connecté é ADOBE CC

    Le lien URL Partage pour révision ne s'affiche pas dans le navigateur si on est connecté à Adobe CC .
    Il faut ainsi se déconnecter de ADOBE pour pouvoir voir le lien URL de partage de révision et ainsi faire les commentaires.
    C'est très ennuyeux !
    Il serait bien qu'avant de lancer des fonctionnalités, qu'elles soient testées en amont.

15. Überschreiben von PDF-Dateien öffnet anstatt neue die alte Datei aus dem Cache

    Das ist sehr sehr böse und passiert nur wenn man zwischendurch Akrobat nicht schliesst. Gott-sei-dank fiel mir das auf, denn ich wollte daraus eine PDFx3 schreiben und hätte dann die falsche Datei mit Fehlern, die eigentlich korrigiert waren, rausgeschickt.

16. Can't see highlighted input numbers in Medium Interface after upgrading to Mac OS 11.2.1

    I just upgraded my Mac to OS 11.2.1 on Sunday and noticed that when I try to highlight numbers in the medium interface in both InDesign and Illustrator I can't see what I've selected. I think the highlight color is too close to the background color. The attached file shows that Photoshop has an option for "highlight" that is not available in Indesign or Illustrator and I have also included what it looks like when I try to highlight a number. You will see a tiny blue border on the boxes where I have highlighted the numbers.

17. Keyboard Shortcuts dont work often with InDesign

    Using windows 10 - InDesign 2020

    Keyboard shortcuts often will not work, forcing me to minimize or restart the program to get them to work again. Very annoying.

    shortcuts that I am using for example( W to enter workspace mode, Ctrl-Z for undoing and even Ctrl-S to save)

    Adobe, stop adding features until you fix the issues that are present. especially ones that have been around for years or months.

    osx 10.14.6 with 2 rounds of recent Mojave updates / total nightmares/ debacles caused by apple and apparently has lingering issues/bugs.

20. Adobe Publish Online lacks a search bar

    Having used InDesign 16.0.2 to successfully publish my document, I discovered, unlike "other" online publishing tools, the end-user has no search bar. Worse yet, typing "command" + "k" — while it does work in all browsers and in all PDF files — does NOt work in an online published document. Basically, the document is NOT searchable? That is a critical misfire for an "online" publication. Please add a search bar immediately, if not sooner. I love this new publish online feature, but cannot justify an unsearchable web document to my higher-ups.
