  1. spacebar

    spacebar in indesign file doesn't work for typing a space. it works in other programs, and other indesign files. it works in command menus like the find menu. it does not work in this one particular document. I am not able to type a space between words. I have to hit CTRL+space to be able to type a space. this is a really difficult change in flow to get used to. I don't know if a hit a function that accidentally set this to be the norm. please help. I want to be able to type spaces normally...

  2. I can't open files created by Indesign cs5.5

    i created files with Indesign cs5.5 but i can't open them with Indesign cc14 15 or 16. What is the solution ?

  3. Indesign 16. Problema con sangrías de texto y objetos con contorneo

    Cuando una caja de texto o imagen con contorneo mueve texto sangríado (en el ejemplo, sangría en la primera línea) la sangría de la primera línea desaparece.
    Ver en la muestra los ejemplos correctos dentro del circulo superior y los 2 inferiores en los que la sangría no se muestra correctamente debido a la caja de imagen con contorneo que se ve a la izquierda.

  4. 'Share for review' showing name of a previously shared document, hasn't recognised which document to share

    InDesign 16.0
    Mac OS 10.15.7
    Chrome Version 86.0.4240.183

    Share for review should respond to whichever tab is in focus

    Steps to recreate.

    1. Have 2 InDesign documents you want to share for review
    2. Open one of the files
    3. Go to share and review, see the filename populated in the panel's field
    4. Create the share
    5. Open the other InDesign document
    6. Go to share and review

    Expected: Document that is in focus in the open tab is the file that is being shared

    Actual: Previous file's name is still populated. Changing it and sharing creates an error.

    And now this has happened, restarting…

  5. type tool behaves as selection tool

    Hello guys, I'm experimenting this issue in which the Type tool is behaving as the selection tool.

    Instead of selecting text, by double-clicking or click and drag, it just moves the text frame around. Double click is not highlighting the text either.

    I'm running Indesign 16.1.0.20 on Big Sur 11.2.1

  6. %CCX_FNFT_DIALOG_NAME error indesign 16.1

    When i want to open a new document/artbort etc. in Photoshop, Illustrator or Indesign the following pop up appears.

    I am not able to create new documentes.

  7. Text cursor not displayed in InCopy on MacOS 11 (Big Sur)

    I know that InDesign 2020 (15.1.2) and InCopy 2020 (15.1.2) are not and will not be supported on Mac OS 11 (Big Sur), but nevertheless we are doing some testing because. Our customers may upgrade their Mac or buy a new one with MacOS 11 installed and expect that everything works as before.
    So we are doing some basic testing to be prepared.
    For InDesign 2020 (and 2021 prerelease) it looks fine. No big surprises.

    In InCopy however I am running into a strange glitch: the text cursor doesn't show up in all view modes (story, galley, layout).

  8. CC 2020 + Catalina makes computer really slow

    On a brand new iMac (Catalina), opening CC 2020 apps makes everything lag. When Adobe apps are not open, computer performance is fine. According to the Adobe Support Community, this issue seems pretty widespread and Adobe's suggested fixes do not help.

  10. Pages Palette Bug

    Hello,

    1. Create a new document with 5 pages.
    2. Draw out a text frame on each page and insert a number starting with "5" on page 1, "4" on page 2, "3" on page 3, "2" on page 4 and "1" "on page 5.
    3. Now try to sort the numbers into the correct order (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) by dragging the thumbnails to the correct place in the Pages palette. You will not succeed because the respective side always jumps one position too far. I reported this bug over a year ago and it still isn't fixed! (Indesign version 16.1)

  11. The UI is not scaling correctly on Windows 4k screens - UI too small

    Hi, I am having problems with the UI Scaling on InDesign on my 4k laptop. I am using the recommended system scaling of 250% which works well with other apps except for Adobe, most noticeably InDesign. I pay a premium price for Adobe CC which should be reflected in their products. The UI is way too small on InDesign compared to Illustrator and Photoshop.

    I also have problems in all adobe apps when using an external monitor to expand my screen size. Dragging the apps from one monitor to the other does all sorts of weird things.

  12. Id CC 2020 pdf export failure

    I get an error "Failed to Export the PDF file" when exporting file previously created in Id CC 2019.
    Id does not give any details about the error. It simply stops exporting. I've never seen such a message before (I've been working with Id since version 1.0).
    The same file is exported from CC2019 without any problems.
    Windows 10 with all updates.

  13. Swatch pallet not showing current color in use

    Since the latest update to version 16.1 the color swatches do not show which color is currently in use. You cannot toggle between the fill and border either in that pallet. The color swatches work in the top menu and the left tool bar but not in the pallets.

  14. Variable fonts: Feature Variations not working

    In the current version of Adobe CC, Variable fonts’ Feature Variations are not working. Please have a look at the Trial version of my typeface Pangea (https://fontwerk.com/de/fonts/pangea-superfamily):

    Axes for Weight, Italic, Apertures, Extenders, Inktraps and Spacing are working, but as soon as you move the sliders of the the last axes (Single-storey a, single-storey g and Straight l) the font is marked as missing and jumps back to the basic style.

  16. won't open 2020 indd file

    Won't open Indd 2020 files when doubled clicked. Can't make Indd 2021 default program to open InDesign files. Have to open using File > Open menu. All InDesign files have blank white page icons next to them (windows 10). Uninstall/Reinstall doesn't fix problem.

  17. saving issue

    When I open my existing files in newer version. and while saving it does not save the files using the same path .

    just give a recent path of the file that were used before. So i have to again search the path and replace my files

  18. InDesign 16.1 icon shrank

    Just updated to InDesign 16.1. It appears that the app icon underwent significant shrinkage for some reason (at least on Mac, macOS 11.2).

    Please restore its original size!

  19. Viewing page with linked image causes file to be marked as dirty (needs saving)

    InDesign version: 15.1.1
    Additional versions tried: 15.0.3, 15.0, 14.0.3
    MacOS Mojave (10.14.6) on two different computers

    To reproduce:
    1. Create a new empty document.
    2. Add a second page to the document.
    3. Place Image, onto the page you're viewing (I did a PNG)
    4. Save and close the document.
    5. Open the document.
    6. Wait 2-20 seconds, doing nothing to change the document.

    Expected result: document opens to page with placed image, nothing else happens / changes.

    Actual result: document opens to page with placed image, and after a delay the document is marked as changed (asterisk appears in…

  20. Selection Tool cursor disappear issue

    After few hours with no activity on Mac with Silicon disappear the Selection Tool cursor on the artboard. Quit the app and reopen it works as a solution for now.
