nested style bug
InDesign 16.0 and 16.0.1
Mac OS 11.1.1
I am struggling with adding a custom character to the 4th column of the nested style definition. I can pull down the menu to access the presets, but when I want to add a custom character (like Opt+8 for a bullet) it's not working as expected.
If I'm persistent, I can type it in sometimes, and sometimes it takes it but still shows the first menu item (Word).
This is happening in multiple documents. I have reset preferences and installed 16.0.1, with the same result.

WORKAROUND: I've found that if I create a new nested style definition and switch "Through" to "Up To" in the second column before doing anything else, I can enter a character in the fourth column.
I'm running 16.3.2 and it's still a problem.

Same thing here, but I can never get it to accept just a letter, so stuck with a very limited set of choices.

I see this too. The nested style feature seems to be broken. I am unable to enter any custom characters to end a nested style. InDesign 16.1. macOS 11.1 Also can't edit the characters used in other nested styles that I created in the past.

YES! I have this exact same problem. Mac mini - M1 InDesign 2021 - 16.1.
I'm can SOMETIMES get it to work, but only about 20% of the time.
