1. Alt-PgDn inserts glyph after moving to next spread

   InDesign 16.0 x64

   Normally (and on the MAC), the user can press Alt/Opt+PgDn to center the next spread on the screen.

   This is now broken on Windows. At least on the 2 PC's I use, both of which are up to date on Windows and Creative Cloud.

   What happens now is that when the Alt key is released, a glyph is inserted into the text. And this causes the display to jump back so the insertion point is visible on screen.

   Of course, if I'm not currently editing inside a text frame, the glyph doesn't appear, because there's no place for it to go.

   This new problem prevents me from using Alt-PgDn and Alt-PgUp to navigate one spread at a time while I'm editing. For some reason, InDesign processes the navigation command (when NumLock is OFF) and thenprocesses the same keystrokes as if the NumLock were ON.

3. Filenames and Thumbnails on the Home screen are on top of each other

   Version of Adobe InDesign, InCopy or InDesign Server: 16.0
   Steps to reproduce the issues: Go to Home Screen
   Expected result: See recent files
   Actual result: I see the recent files but I can't read the filenames properly because they are on top of each other. The thumbnails are not aligned as well. Please see attached screenshot.

4. Hyperlink window not working

   Hello,

   I'm working on a file from February 2020 that contains hyperlinks. Every time I click to use the Hyperlink window to edit/update urls my InDesign locks up. However, when I try this in a new file I created in December, I'm not having any issues with the hyperlinks window/tool.

   I'm using the latest version of InDesign CC (16.1).
   I open the file, click the Hyperlinks window and the program locks up to where I have to force quit.

   (Not sure if it matters - I'm adding this comment from my Mac, but I'm trying to do this work on my PC, which is my work computer.)

   I'm working on a file from February 2020 that contains hyperlinks. Every time I click to use the Hyperlink window to edit/update urls my InDesign locks up. However, when I try this in a new file I created in December, I'm not having any issues with the hyperlinks window/tool.

6. QuickLook preview?

   Almost every file on my computer is a Space Bar press away from a quick glance to review it's content. Many even allow for scrolling through the pages of a pdf or presentation, but InDesign still only displays and icon. Even with "Always save Preview Images with Document" selected.
   I've seen this issues being discussed back to 2007 and it still hasn't been addressed beyond "use a 3rd party"... that's a terrible answer to missing features.

7. ID 2021 16.1 - Text variable shows wrong content randomly

   When I use filename as text variable on the master template, the variable's output shows an incorrect value. On some pages (even Master) there are wrong letters in the filenames output, on other pages the filename ist correctly. It happens randomly in the same document. I've seen it in several documents.

9. Catastrophic loss of index data

   Yesterday I laboriously created an index of a 60-page document. Today, half of the index entries are gone. And the IDML backup I made of the file shows all index entries as "PN," which, of course, is totally incorrect.

   It appears that the file lost all index entries after page 40, yet I know they were there yesterday, since I entered them laboriously for hours on end.

10. last window size unremembered when application frame turned off

    InDesign on Mac 16.102 will not remember last open document size when Application Frame is turned off. When no document is currently open and I want to open a new document it always fills the entire space on my monitor between the tools on the left and the pallets on the right. I have to manually drag the new document window to the size I want. It's not convenient and user friendly! If the Application frame is turned on - it WILL remember. But as a Mac user I want that frame turned off - like it used to be.

11. Linking a CMYK Illustrator .AI file in an CMYK InDesign imports colors as RGB

    When importing a CMYK Illustrator file in a CMYK InDesign document it converts the colors to RGB.

    This happens in InDesign 2020, 15.1.3. Not certain how long this has been an issue. We recently had to change our links in many files from .AI to EPS / PDF files.

13. Can't read XML attributes from tagged image contained into table

    Can't read XML attributes from tagged image contained into table.

    Hello, I have some problems when I use one script Javascript to read XML attributes of tagged images contained into tables.
    One XML file with data is imported into document with existing XML structure. In attached example there is a simply structure with one tagged text frame. When importing XML data, text frame contain one simply tagged table with one tagged image into one cell.
    In earlier versions of Indesign (up to CC 9.2) this script works fine.
    In later versions this script not read correctly these attributes: in CC2020 version script read container cell attributes; in CC2021 instead script read correct XML element but this element appears invalid.
    If I first import XML file into an empty document and then tag the text frame then there is no problems!

    1) New file from scratch
    2) Add new text frame and tag it with "TEXT"
    3) Import example XML file "imgattrs.xml"

    EXPECTED RESULT: read XML attributes of tag "IMG"
    ACTUAL RESULT: "IMG" xmlElement is not valid.

14. [ID-4218137]Thumbnail of InDesign saved files not appearing after 2019 to 2020 update.

    Can anyone help me with this issue, since I update to the 2020 InDesign from 2019 all my icons in saved files don't show the InDesign thumbnail is this a bug or just me being dumb?

    note -
    -Files still open as normal.
    -Even if I save them in 2020 formate still no icons
    -Other adobe programs since update show Icons.

    Fix for this issue is now available in the latest InDesign Release version 20.1 (Build 20.1.0.71), available via Creative Cloud Desktop application.

15. bug: empty textbox

    InDesign 16.1 x64, Windows 10

    InDesign wraps text incorrectly when layout adjustments are made. Empty text frames occur. Only when the size of the text frames is changed, they are filled with text again.

16. InDesign 16.1 - nested styles read line break as Paragraph return.

    If I place a shift-return in a paragraph with a nested style, the program reads it as a paragraph return and behaves as if the new line is an new paragraph, adding the starting nested style to the new line.

17. hide cursor in presentation mode

    When in presentation mode (shift+w) I would like to be able to hide the cursor. Even if I move it to the edge of the screen, it's still visible and distracting from the presentation itself.

18. '안내선에 스냅' 기능이 윈도우에서 강도가 너무 약해요.

19. Background Tasks Panel - Missing Progress Bars

    Since InDesign 15.1, the progress bars are missing from the Background Tasks panel. Luckily, the percentages are still there but the bars are needed for quick progress reference.

    The issue has been fixed in the latest release of InDesign – InDesign 2021. The fix was also available in the previous version of InDesign – InDesign 2020 (v 15.1.2).
    Please update to these newer versions of InDesign to get the fix.
