  1. [ID-4208669]QR Code Generator Problems with Special Characters in vCards

    In the actual version of indesign (16.0) there is still an issue with internal generated vCard-QR-Code scanned by an iphone.

    In germany there are special Characters called "Umlaute" (ü, ö, ä) or the "sharp s" (ß). If these characters are used in an vCard generated within the buildin function from indesign, they are replaced with other symbols on the iPhone QR-Code-Camera Reader.

    I think this is only a Problem of the used vCard-Version. I think indesign uses Version 2.1 if you would just use Version 3.0 this issue does not appear.

    Fix for this issue is now available in the latest InDesign Release version 20.1 (Build 20.1.0.71), available via Creative Cloud Desktop application.

  2. Default underline position misinterprets font’s specification

    InDesign interprets the underline position as the center of the line (from which the "thickness" extends outward), whereas the OpenType spec calls for it to be the top of the line (from which the thickness extends downward). This causes inconsistencies with other application’s interpretation of the same font’s metadata.

  3. Dropdown Menu "Type" Text Not Consistent

    Currently using v17.3 and I believe the "Find/Replace Font..." (under "Type" menu bar) should be with initial caps and not what I'm currently seeing. It should be the same style as "Find/Change", right?

    Checked with my fellow InDesign users and seems like it's only me.
    Anybody else has this issue?

  4. Hyperlink panel "go to destination" not linking to html with # to a specific id="anchor-1"

    ID version 17.0

    Hyperlink is to a url containing a # to anchor-1 in an html document. (Fig. 1)

    When clicking the go to destination it should open to that particular id location in the html.

    In the browser the # becomes %23 and the html document does not open, in fact it opens a pdf with a similar url. (Fig. 3)

    Fortunately when creating a pdf the link does work correctly in the browser.

    In v 14.0.1 it would open to the correct place in the html.

  5. Resizing table cell causes InDesign to crash

    1. Adobe InDesign 17.0 x64 (2022).
    2. Resize the single-cell table so that the content overflows.
    3. Content should disappear and overflow symbol should appear.
    4. InDesign crashes.

  6. "Small cap" with some fonts doesn't works

    Version of Indesign: 17.3

    Steps:
    - write a text in Arial (or Bahnschrift, Calibri, Times new roman)
    - select text and activate "Small caps",
    - go to Preference -> Advanced type -> Character setting,
    - Change "Small cap" value to 40% (from 70%),
    - NOTHING CHANGE!

    Do the same with InDesign 15.3.1 and it works.

  7. Crash after sleep mode external drive OS X - lost network vonnection (Indesign only!)

    After getting awake from sleep mode Indesign will constantly (and only Indesign!) crash because of a lost network connection!

  9. Reveal in finder not working

    Reveal in finder not working when right clicking tab at the top of open document. Clicking "reveal in finder" brings all open finder windows to front, but does not reveal the correct file location, nor any files if no existing windows are open.

  10. PDF-Comments Panel - Buttonclicks don't register - click several times + SOLUTION

    Report a minor issue in Indesigns PDF-Correction-Panel.

    SOMETIMES in the PDF-correction panel my mouseclicks on the "accept"-Button wouldn't register reliably and i have to click several times in order for the correction to be made. Solution: The clickable area in the button is wrong. You have to click on the "accept"-TEXT inside the button, you can't click somewhere in the outer highlighted area of the button (which would be the expected behaviour).

    (Bug in latest version of Indesign CC, as of May2022, german locale)

  11. Space Bar Shortcut for Hand Tool frequently stops working (MacOS)

    About once a week I find that the hand tool shortcut stops working.
    Restarting InDesign doesn't resolve the issue, however restarting the computer does.

    Space bar continues to work in all other capacities (including as a spacebar, as I'm experiencing the bug right now and yet still able to add spaces into this text box)

    macOS Big Sur 11.6.7
    (Not updating to Monterey due to cloud services bugs in the operating system)

  12. Vcard QR code : the title text field is not filled in correctly

    If I create a Vcard QR code with Indesign the title text field is not filled in correctly if I scan with an iphone.

  14. Trackpad pinch to zoom stops working

    I'm working on a new 2021 Mac and across all adobe programs pinch to zoom on the track pad will often stop working. I then have to turn the gestures settings on and off either within the app or on System Preferences (it varies on which one works) to reset it. Or I have to quit the app and restart, which is very disruptive to my workflow.

    I am up to date in creative cloud as of today – 22/04/22

  15. Share for Review: 404 Error, I'm the owner but receive no access

    I have hundreds of share for review links that all don't work anymore, neither for me nor externals. They all end up at 404. When I open the indd, I get the message that I'm not permitted to create or update a review link because I'm not the owner — I am. I've tried logging out and back in but that didn't help. My indesign is fully up to date at version 17.3.

  18. InDesign crashes when formatting footnotes

    Formatting footnotes using InDesign 2022 v 17.1 causes severe lag and eventually the program seizes up and must be ended through task manager. Full details here:

    The resolution to the issue was to roll back InDesign to 16.4.1, no such problems with that.

  19. [ID-4206781]Text wrapping has changed to before 2019 use textFrame based indent

    To place a graphicItem with text wrap, it is not an object-based indent like 2020, but a text frame-based indent before 2019.

    16.0.1(macOS10.14/10.15.6)

    2 Steps to reproduce the issues
    1. Make TextFrame. To places graphicItem above the textFrame and set text wrap.
    2. The indent set in the textFrame does not take effect for the object for which wrap text is set like before 2019.

    3 Expected result
    Indent set in the textFrame does take effect for the object for which wrap text is set like 2020.

  20. Actual Size Error

    It shows 20% larger when the actual size is at 100%. When the View Size is at 80%, it gives an image close to 100%. Command + 1 (⌘ + 1) brings the screen to 100%, but the dimensions are wrong.
