2. When importing tables through tagged text, formatting inexplicably and erratically lost; extra hard returns inserted

   1. Adobe InDesign 20.5
   2. Flow the attached .txt files (tagged text) into an InDesign file. you'll need paragraph styles "TABC", "TABH1", "TABTX", and "TAB" (the paragraph for the table). You'll also need table style "TAB" and a cell style "tabtx".
   3. The last cell in table 19.2 should be empty—no hard return. The the text in row 2, column 3 of table 19.4, "katab" should be italic.
   4. There's a hard return in the last cell of table 19.2; any text in cell R2C3 in table 19.4 is not ital (but note that the text in table 19.2 at R2C3 is italic as expected.
   5. See the attached tagged text and Word files as well as the attached screen shot.

   When importing tagged text, I am seeing some formatting—like italic—dropped, and I'm also seeing extra hard returns inserted in the last cell of the table. These problems seem to be intermittent and unpredictable. For example, in a cell with this text

   <CellStart:><ParaStyle:TAB_TX><cTypeface:Italic>katab<cTypeface:><CellEnd:>

   "katab" is not being italicized, but in a cell with this text

   <CellStart:><ParaStyle:TAB_TX><cTypeface:Italic>qəṭál<cTypeface:><CellEnd:>

   "qəṭál" is italicized just fine.

   If I copy and paste the "qəṭál" cell into the first file replacing the "katab" cell, "qəṭál" is not italicized. I've attached the tagged text and Word files for each.

   The other weird thing I'm seeing is a hard return inserted in an otherwise empty last cell in the table. You can see it in the table 19.4 file.

   If it helps, I can upload the InDesign template as well.

3. rendering not as per illustrator

5. Error message is seen while opening InDesign after Photoshop 26.5 update

   Problem Description

   After the PhotoShop 26.5 update this morning, when opening InDesign, I got an error popup regarding a missing startup script in PhotoShop. The same thing does not happen in other CC apps.

   Workaround 1:

   1. Uninstall Photoshop 26.5 (make sure to remove preferences).
   2. Reinstall Photoshop 26.5. This will install the correct “photoshop_v2025.jsx”.

   Workaround 2:

   1. Open jsx, which is available at "/Library/application support/Adobe/Startup Scripts CC/Adobe Photoshop/" mentioned in the alert in the Text Editor
   2. Add } in the last line

   Hi,

   As confirmed by the user, the issue is due to the latest Photoshop update, and the workaround below would resolve the issue.

   Workaround 1:

   1. Uninstall Photoshop 26.5 (make sure to remove preferences).

   2. Reinstall Photoshop 26.5. This will install the correct “photoshop_v2025.jsx”.

   Workaround 2:

6. InDesign "Dynamic Spelling" is no good in Turkish

   I've been using InDesign for like a decade. In all that time "Dynamic Spelling" function has always been terrible for Turkish language. It underlines some words which are correct in every way bu then again skips some words which are totally wrong. Besides, it makes horrible suggestions for underlined words.

   Take a look at the screenshot, for example. The word "kuruyemiş" is a combined word which is written without a space. However, it not only underlines the word but also suggest a list of variations which are ALL WRONG.

   It seems like all the misspelled versions of this word has been entered into the dictionary as "correct" at some point in the past, and InDesign has been using the same dictionary for years. I am tired of copying everything into Word, make a proper spellcheck, and then again insert the text into Indesign.

   Don't you think it's about time someone update the dictionary in Turkish? If anyone from Adobe is reading this post, please consider this message as a conctructive criticism.

8. Window Explorer made unusable by opening InDesign

   Here's an odd one. InDesign doesn't appear to be crashing or freezing, itself, but it is instead making my Windows explorer taskbar unusable. I can't select any icon pinned to it--they won't even highlight when I cursor over them--and only opening and closing the task manager will make them selectable again. I've tried to replicate this happening with other programs, but it's only happening when InDesign is made active.

   Can't seem to figure out what's triggering it, but it tends to happen on start-up of the program and at random intervals while using InDesign. Suddenly I can't switch out of it and have to force reset the windows explorer by "ctrl+alt+del"-ing.

   Any thoughts on what could be doing this? We've tried running multiple updates and resets (to both Adobe and Windows) to no avail.

9. Preflight not showing all results

   I have a custom profile set up for preflight checks and although 614 problems are reported, in 2 categories, I can only see about the first 100 of each category. For example, the color space issues are shown only up to page 15, while my document has 180 pages. I am using InDesign 21.0.2.

10. Margins and guides don't work regardless of preview mode or not

    The margins and guides disappeared and don't show when i click show and fix up the margin size. The feature just stopped working and doesn't want to even after computer restart and reinstallation of Indesign.

11. My InDesign is 'behaving'

    My Indesign is "behaving." I don't know if some kind of AI has been installed, but it keeps trying to anticipate what I want it to do rather than doing what I want it to do. And it defaults to other functions when I use a different function (i.e. defaulting to text when I am using move to move a text box). Or it'll expand or contract a box when I select it to manipulate it. How do I make it stop? Or, at the very least, how do I turn off the AI?

12. Moves with arrow keys do not apply to objects if cursor is hovering over a link

    1. Place an image or a PDF in an InDesign file
    2. Create a text frame/shape/any object
    3. Select the object you just created with direct select tool (keep it selected)
    4. Move your mouse to hover over the link so that the center circle link highlight shows. Do not select the linked image, just hover over it.
    5. Press and hold an arrow key to try and move object.

    In CC2024 19.3: If I hover over a link with my mouse, the selected object moves as expected with the arrow keys.

    In CC2025 20.2: If I hover over a link with my mouse, the selected object does not move with the arrow keys. Only when I move my cursor off the link will the selected object move (or jump to catch up to my previous use of the arrow keys)

    This is a very annoying bug as when I'm trying to adjust objects, I'm not consciously picking where I "park" my mouse in my layout as I adjust objects. This slows down work considerably and might unintentionally create errors.

    Macbook Pro Sequoia 15.3.2
    InDesign 20.2

13. fit spread in window

    I want Fit Spread in Window to work, all the time, every time!!!!!!!!!!!! I am using version 21.0.1 on macOS 26.2. This defect has been around for a long time, and many people have complained about it. My office colleagues all have the same issue. It works today, and then not tomorrow. It works for 5 minutes in one file, and then suddenly stops working. A Page layout program should be able to display pages! I want to use Fit Spread in Window every single day, and I am so disappointed that this defect goes on and on and on with every new version of InDesign. Please, for once and for all, fix it.

14. PDF Kommentare und Share for Review angleichen

    Ansich ist das ja eine gute Sache, aber warum unterscheiden sich die Kommentarfunktionen zu denen im Adobe Acrobat.
    wenn ich PDF Kommentare aus einen PDF importiere, kann ich die per Mausklick übernehmen. Bei der überprüfen Funktion geht das nicht.
    Bitte die Kommentarfunktionen aus Acrobat genau so auch im Share for Review übernehmen.

15. Unable to Place Illustrator Files from Adobe Projects

    When using Adobe Projects with Illustrator and Indesign 2026, Indesign does not recognize .AIC files as "compatible" files when attempting to place in an Indesign document. Indesign Version - 21.0.2, Illustrator Version - 30.1.

    Steps to reproduce:

    Create Illustrator document, save as Adobe Cloud Document, or in Adobe Project Folder
    Attempt to place document by Navigating to "File", "Place" or by pressing CMD+D
    Illustrator files will not be listed as available
    Selecting "On Your Computer" and navigating to an Illustrator file will allow it to be placed

    Expected Result:
    Being able to place a file from Adobe Project.

    Actual Result:
    None.

16. Data merge icc

    InDesign 21.0.2
    During a data merge I exported to PDF and chose single pages. Associated PDF ICC profile is a v4, so I received this dialog 100 times -- 1 for each individual page. Probably not necessary.

17. Selecting object defining box appears only after leaving area

    Since 2025 installed and object or text box, once selected, does not show selected until mouse is moved away from selected area.

    This is not the case in 2024 application.

18. InDesign 20.5 nonresponsive in paragraph/character styles after Windows update KB5065789

    After a Windows 11 update to "September 29, 2025—KB5065789 (OS Builds 26200.6725 and 26100.6725) Preview" InDesign is nonresponsive hanging for minutes at a time trying to navigate menu options in Paragraph Styles and Character Styles.
    The same happens with prior versions of InDesign with this Windows Update.
    Confirmed the problem occurred on two different users/machines, with a new blank document.

20. InDesign process dies after 3 minutes

    I'm facing the following problem. I'm on a new Windows 11 (24H2) and have Creative Cloud and various apps like Photoshop (26,11), Illustrator (29.8.2) or InDesign (20.5) installed. Every app works fine except InDesign. No matter what INDD file I work on, what menu I'm in or if I just leave the app open showing the start page, after 3 minutes the InDesign.exe dies. I've checked that I have the latest updates, reinstalled it, removed all presettings of previous versions, tried to run as admin and in compatibilty mode. Nothing changes. It runs 3 minutes and then suddenly dies. In Windows event logs is nothing reported around that moment so I have no clues, what's the reason.

    I'm facing the following problem. I'm on a new Windows 11 (24H2) and have Creative Cloud and various apps like Photoshop (26,11), Illustrator (29.8.2) or InDesign (20.5) installed. Every app works fine except InDesign. No matter what INDD file I work on, what menu I'm in or if I just leave the app open showing the start page, after 3 minutes the InDesign.exe dies. I've checked that I have the latest updates, reinstalled it, removed all presettings of previous versions, tried to run as admin and in compatibilty mode. Nothing changes.
