2. Copying/cutting a table causes InDesign 2026 to crash

   Cutting and pasting tables causes InDesign to crash. This is especially true if there are any interactive elements in the table. You will receive crash reports every single time it crashes while I finish my work.

3. Moving Pages calls for use of Absolute Page Number

   1. InDesign 21.0.1 x64 (on Windows 11)
   2. I want to move a page from a document where I have changed the Numbering & Section Options so that the document includes multiple pages with the same page number. I open the document that includes the page I want to move, and open the document which will receive that page. I select a page in the pages panel, right click, and select "Move Page." The Move Pages dialog box appears, and I select the document and location where I want the page to be moved and click OK.
   3. The highlighted page will be copied to the correct location in the destination document.
   4. Instead, I receive an error message asking me to identify the correct page using the absolute page number. In earlier versions of InDesign, if I tried to use the Move Pages dialog box by simply typing in a page number, it would ask me to define the page using the absolute page number, but as long as I had highlighted the page I wanted to move and then activated the Move Page function, InDesign would automatically identify the page I wanted to move without asking me to define the absolute page number.

4. InDesign window doesn't automatically scale when switching between laptop and an external monitor, and application screen goes blank

   This issue has been posted before, with no solution. Ever since one of the more recent updates to InDesign, the application window no longer automatically scales to fit the screen when connected to an external monitor and, when it's connected, the application window is blank—showing only the pasteboard color across the whole application window.
   So you have to hit the "+" to expand the app window to the full screen area, close the file window, and reopen the file in order to work again.
   Similarly, if you hit "Shift + W" to view Presentation Mode, the application window always re-acquires the window size from the laptop. So you have to hit "+" to expand it every time.
   These are bugs that never used to be a problem ... and they take tons of micro-minutes away from my standard workflow.
   These are really important issues to resolve. I'm surprised they have continued for so long ...

5. [ID-4265787]InDesign 20.4.0 and above freezes when connected with Enterprise VPN

   Impossible to work with the latest version of InDesign 20.5. The screen freezes after a few second work. Only "end task" on Task manager is closing the program. (Working on PC under Windows 11 Enterprise)
   Only solution in the meantime is to switch to Version 19.5.5.

6. InDesign 21.0 black dot in red close button missing on macOS

   1. InDesign 21.0, macOS 15.7
   2. Open InDesign file, make a change.
   3. Black dot should appear in the title bar red "close" button along with asterisk by filename in document tab.
   4. Red "close" button remains "clean" without black dot.

   InDesign 2025 (v.20.5) exhibits correct behavior. InDesign 2026 (v.21.0) does not.

7. [ID-4257735]One Frame Grid Remains Unchanged When Modifying Multiple Selected Frame Grids

   InDesign CS4 (v6) and Later

   When changing the “Number of Characters per Line” or “Number of Lines” for multiple selected frame grids, one of the frame grids always fails to update. This bug, first observed in CS4 (v6), remains unresolved.

   Steps to Reproduce:
   1. Select multiple frame grids.
   2. Go to the menu and choose “Object > Frame Grid Options...”
   3. Modify the “Number of Characters per Line” or “Number of Lines” settings.

   Result: Changes are not reflected in one of the frame grids. It appears that the frame grid with the smallest object ID does not get updated.

   Expected Result: All selected frame grids should reflect the changes.

8. When viewing an exported PDF images do not appear correctly

   I'm using InDesign 2026 version 21.0. These bugs are new after the latest update. We create primary 36+ page booklets with lots of text and linked files: Illustrator files (linked as .AI), JPG/PNG images, and PDFs. When creating a PDF using Adobe PDF preset for smallest file size some pages do not appear correctly. One example is a linked InDesign file with text and graphics where some of the text is missing (text missing bug.PDF). Another example images that appear fine in InDesign and in print but render incorrectly on the PDF, this is also a linked InDesign file (images rendering bug.PDF). Sometimes InDesign freezes when making the PDF and I have to end the program through task manager. Other times I'm able to successfully make the PDF by creating multiple PDFs for one document i.e.: pages 1-15, pages 16-25, pages 26-36, then merging the PDF pages after. This is a cumbersome work around.

   Before the latest update we had very few errors/crashes with creating PDF's in the exact same way. Please help!

9. Alert: "Incompatible file detected. Please choose a valid file to proceed" for scenarios when User Settings can not be imported

   When I try to export user settings from GA, Beta or Pre-release and import into any of the others I get the error

   'Incompatible file detected. Please choose a valid file to proceed.’

   The current pre-release cannot even import a settings file from 6 months ago

10. Alert is shown on opening documents in InDesign(v19.4.0.63) - "This file is already open by another user or another application."

    After updating InDesign to V19.4, I'm now locked out of many of my previous design files. I'm receiving the error, "This file is already open by another user or another application. This file may be stored on a network server and cannot be opened until the other user closes it."

    I reinstalled V19.3 and can now access these old files but I would prefer to use the most up to date version if possible. happy to provide a sample if needed.

11. GPU Accelerated Preview Issues on Windows 11

    InDesign 2025 & 2026 (v21.0 & v20.5.1)
    PC running Windows 11 Pro
    CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D 16-Core Processor
    GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti
    Display: ASUS ProArt PA279CRV @3840x2160
    RAM: 64GB DDR5 @6000 MT/s
    Storage: Samsung SSD 9100 PRO 2TB

    There are mainly 3 issues, that have not improved with the new version:

    1. Animated zoom is broken; it's laggy, and does not zoom in on the actual point of focus where you click with your cursor, making it worse and slower to use than CPU Preview's regular zoom, and in many cases it literally zooms you in on a point outside the artboard and out of your page. The same issue was described in an older bug and was marked as "fixed" when in fact it wasn't. (https://indesign.uservoice.com/forums/601180-adobe-indesign-bugs/suggestions/50037261--id-4264855-issue-with-animated-zoom-in-gpu )

    2. Panning/using the hand tool while zoomed in on a page containing pictures, with "Display Performance" set to "High Quality Display", with GPU Accelerated Preview is slow and causes massive stutters compared to CPU Preview, its stuttering is very irregular it ends up causing eye strain and headaches after long use. The issue is not present with "Typical Display", but at that stage the performance is the same as CPU Preview so makes you wonder what's the point.

    3. When working on a text layout and adjusting the flow of the text, when the end of the text moves from the last page to the page before, GPU Preview sometimes keeps a ghost of the last page containing text, even though the page before is now showing the updated content. CPU Preview shows it correctly. It can only be fixed by entering some new text into the original "last" page forcing it to refresh the preview.

    The first two issues are constant and are the most critical, as they make InDesign quite frustrating to use, and make GPU acceleration completely useless.

    I couldn't add a video of #3 as the content of the pages was confidential, but will try to take a video when it happens again on a different document.

12. InDesign CC 2026 - Arrange windows does not use full screen area

    When using InDesign without the application frame ("Anwendungsrahmen" in the german version we use) active, opening multiple documents and trying to arrange them with any of the options in Windows > Arrange ("Fenster" > "Anordnen") the windows are arranged according to the deactivated/invisible application frame and not the full screen as in previous versions. Also, when the application frame is scaled to the full screen and then deactivated, the arranged windows keep a thin row on the bottom of the screen free (and overlap in the vertical center by this amount). Please see attached screens for visualization.

    5. Use the command Window > Arrange > "Neben-/Untereinander"

       Windows arranged within the available screen area as in previous version (see attached screenshot "InDesign CC2025.png", this shows the correct behaviour in InDesign CC 2025)

       Windows are arranged according to the deactivated/invisible application frame instead of the full screen area. Also, the bottom row overlaps the row above.

13. PDF files being sent to the wrong print tray despite the correct print information being selected.

    Adobe products are sending PDF files to the wrong tray in the printer despite the settings being correct this is mostly happening in both InDesign 2024 and 2026, but it is also happening with Adobe Reader 2020 as well.

14. Pasteboard issues

    Pasting things sometimes changes the size of the pasteboard drastically. Pasteboard margins changes to 10 mm and 10 mm when I paste into the document and it only happens on one page, even if I have multiple pages in the document. This is happening since I updated Indesign from 2025 to 2026 on Windows 11. This causes me to fix the pasteboard size many times throughout the day over and over again.

15. Unable to get rid of history and style pack icons on my workspace

    The History and Style pack icons keep appearing on my InDesign workspace panels. I have tried creating several new workspaces, each time without these icons. However, they reappear each time I open a new document.

16. Outlining Texts when grouped

    For exporting print PDFs i often have to convert all texts into paths. That does not work if a Text is grouped with any objekt.
    I hope for an option to convert all texts into paths, even if they are grouped with other objects.

17. Holding Alt to zoom causes menu issues

    I'm surprised this hasn't been fixed since it's been an issue for an incredibly long time on Windows machines. Please add an option to zoom when scrolling without the need to hold the alt key. It causes navigation issues with the InDesign menu making navigation extremely clunky.

18. QR-code color does not get updated with changed color swatch

    If I change a colour in the Swatches Panel that has been used in a QR-Code, the QR code does not automatically update. I have to open the “Edit QR-Code” options dialogue to validate the colour (select it again). As you can see in the screenshot, the changed colour is selected but not reflected in the QR-Code that it has been applied to.

    The expected result would be that that the QR-code color updates as soon as the color swatch has been changed.

19. Unable to Stretch InDesign Across Two Monitors After Update

    Environment:

    OS: Windows (PC)
    InDesign Version: 21.0 x64
    Hardware: Dual-monitor setup

    Issue:
    After the latest major update, InDesign no longer supports spanning the application window across two monitors. When attempting to resize the window to cover both screens, the UI automatically snaps back to a single-monitor configuration.
    Expected Behavior:
    The application should allow the window to extend across multiple monitors, as was possible in previous versions.
    Observed Behavior:

    InDesign reverts to one monitor when stretched across two.
    Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop continue to support multi-monitor spanning without issue.

    Question:
    Has there been a change in multi-monitor support or window management in the latest release? Please advise on any configuration settings or workarounds.

    I used these Google icon ttf fonts in InDesign 2025, but they keep seeming to crash InDesign 2026
