Please don't kill the Control panel.
The Control panel is more useful, less obtrusive, and more space-conscious than the Properties panel on small displays like laptops.

InDesign
I have too many old thumbnail showing in my InDesign screen. Some are useless items, such as drafts, that I saved, but later deleted. The file is deleted, but the thumbnail is still there. I also want to have some thumbnails from 3 years ago, not go searching for them among my files later. Why don't you let us delete thumbnails of deleted files? Why do they even show up, if we deleted the file? This is a bad either/or decision we shouldn't be forced into. It's quite inconvenient. Now I'm afraid to save a draft and and have even…

Edit Variable dialog: highlight Text text box first instead of variable name to work faster
In the Edit Variables dialog box, It would work faster on a daily basis if the third text box, named Text, would be the one highlighted for change. In a context where you define all your templates then reuse them, when you use variables, it is only to change them. So most used text box is the third one in the Edit variable dialog box.
We would save a lot of time if, when we click to edit a variable, the 3rd text box is highlightes for change.

Simple Answers to Simple Questions
Ya'll Know that 1 Month Ago I Asked If Adobe CC 2018 or 2019 would work with MACOS CATALINA Despite the 32 Bit Sub Apps like "Application Manager," "AAMLauncherUtil" "AAM Registration Notifier" and others. All I got was a bunch of BS from everyone including Beta Testers who could have at Least TRIED to Find out. WELL NEVER MIND You F***s. IT ALL WORKS BEAUTIFULLY WITH CATALINA OFFICIAL RELEASE TODAY. TRIED AND TESTED THEM ALL. EVEN Premiere Pro & After Effects 2018, Indesign 2019, PShop, Illustrator and others. That's All I was asking and couldn't get ONE GODDAM Answer! Thank…

Illustrator's color blindness proof setups available also in InDesign
t would be a big help for those of us who have to create accessible documents to have Illustrator's color blindness proof setups available also in InDesign.
Pushing a PDF to Illustrator to check this is an awkward workaround.

Improve style panels
Three things that would be amazing for the styles panels (we use a lot of styles, so managing them better would be a huge boon):
1) Snap the current folder you're in to the top of the panel once it scrolls out of view, so it's easy to close the folder you're in once you're done.
2) Include some way of viewing the "based on" hierarchy all at once rather than having to go into a style's properties to see what's contingent on what.
3) Have labelling and filtering as per photoshop's layers panel - so you can find and…

Print miniatures (multiple pages) with definable scale rate and border style
1) Please add option to print miniatures with a definable scale rate
2) Please allow to print multiple pages (with 100% actual size) on one sheet
3) Please add printing option to apply something like an object style to the pages (e.g. border style, drop shadow)These features would be great timesavers for internal discussions and external presentations during the whole design process.

InDesign to accept TeX / LaTeX inputs
Like InDesign is accepting Quark inputs till some version (say version 4.0), I'm expecting such feature to accept TeX / LaTeX input too as many of Authors are still using TeX / LaTeX as inputs and the same need to typeset using TeX / LaTeX software.
If InDesign is accepting these inputs, we can directly include in InDesign and proceed the further typesetting process.
One difficulty is usually TeX / LaTeX inputs will have much mathematical equations.

It would be very helpful if, when re-linking missing links, the WHOLE of the filepath appeared along the top of the window.
It would be very helpful if, when re-linking missing links, the WHOLE of the filepath appeared along the top of the window. At present I only see the start and end of the path, which often isn't enough to identify it.

Create a import option to accept readings from a spectro. that can identify its closest PMS color - and or - create a new SPOT swatch that uses the opposite values of the Lab readings to compensate that value to achieve an closer DeltaE reading on the next print of a specified PMS value that you are wanting to reach

Multiple baselines
It would be great if a baseline grid could optionally be assigned to a Master page in stead of a whole document.
I am a book designer of sometime very complicated books, were I have to use multiple font sizes and leading.2 votes -
Change spellcheck from one language to another within the same document
The Indesign support team was not able to change the dictionary language within a document and suggested that I wrote to the developer engineers for a change.
They tried different workarounds; Right click the misspelled word and change the language in the dialogue box. Did not apply. Changing the preferences. Did not apply either. Changing the language preferences in Creative Cloud. Did not work that one.
I guess this is actually a bug.1 vote
