1. Interactive text field options that do not exist in InDesign, but do in Acrobat.

   I make a ton of interactive PDFs in InDesign. Why can I not set things like character limits or centered text within InDesign so I can save the settings in the .indd file? Instead, I am forced to make these changes in Acrobat. This means that any changes to the .indd file require that I remake the PDF format changes in Acrobat. EVERY TIME!

2. Export to image file with naming option to include artboard

   Why, when you can do this in other Adobe products, it does not exist in the LAYOUT software?????????

   HOW IS THIS NOT NATIVE ALREADY??? Please make this your priority for next update. I am sure many on this forum use ID for exporting several if not 30 or so sizing layouts for a single ad or social media space????

3. Cover building tool

   It would be great if InDesign had a tool for easily building covers. Something as simple as allowing variable column widths so that you could input the width of C1, C4,spine, and the width of the joins on either side!

4. Styles order when importing or book synking

   It would be a good thing to keep styles order from source file.

   If i have the following list of styles
   - Style 1
   - Style 2
   - Style 3

   and i create a "Style 2X", i can place ir right above "Style 2". But when it is imported from another file or inked on a book, new style goes to the end of the styles list.

   We should have an option like "keep list order" when link or import.

   Is it possible to do that?

5. Cloud InDesign Share for Review Layers

   Currently cloud reviews can't turn on or off layers and we have to open in Acrobat in order to comment on layers. With the new Cloud Share for Review can you please include Layers

6. Copy and Paste Effects

   It'd be great to be able to copy and paste effects from objects, especially between multiple documents. This would be similar to Photoshop's ability to copy layer effects.

7. Auto anchor table cells in forms to export correctly to tag trees in PDF

   Clients frequently want accessible forms made in table format. Please set the cell fields (graphic cells) to auto-anchor and correctly export to the tag tree in PDFs. Currently, the exports do not work well with assistive devices and require much remediation--sometimes more time to remediate than actually designing the file correctly. Note that all USA Federal Government publications, forms, etc., MUST meet Federal law regarding accessibility. Remediation in exported PDFs needs to be minimal. Thank you.

8. The dreaded Data Merge "There is at least one data placeholder that cannot be found" error

   when using Data Merge, so many of us have gotten the "There is at least one data placeholder that cannot be found in the data source. Make sure all the placeholders correspond to the fields in the data source." error and have spent way too much time trying to find the issue.
   
   Can Adobe add a way to highlight what InDesign is objecting to when this message happens?
   
   This morning, I gave up and inserted the text manually. There were only 4 elements on each of my 5 Master pages and I could not find the offending object.

9. Scaling with conditional text

   When scaling a text box allow all hidden conditional text to scale. As of now only the visible text scales. This is extremely inconvenient when working with a lot of conditional text,

10. Share for review—interactive documents

    Loving the new Share for Review feature, but how about the ability to markup documents with interactivity. Currently, all the buttons, rollovers, etc. disappear when using this feature—which implies it's just a baked-in version of adobe DC's commenting feature for static PDF documents.

11. Easier to rearrange document tabs

    I often have many different documents open in tabs but not in separate windows. I drag the tabs together so that InDesign's screen looks sort of like a browser with multiple tabs at the top. But only the selected tab is visible in the main windows. But rearranging these tabs in my preferred order is VERY finicky. I have to drag precisely left or precisely right, and about half the time my tab, instead of rearranging, opens in a new window. Frustrating.

    The solution would be to recode so that when you drag a tab left or right to rearrange, OR to drag the tab for a separate window into a tab group, you have a buffer of a certain number of pixels above and below the tab group before you decide the user wants to move the tab, instead of into the tab group, into a new window.

    Related to this, there is an option Window > Arrange > New Window for [nameoffile]. Why not an option for Window > Arrange > New TAB for [maneoffile]?

12. Import pdf comments - make easier to copy comments, UI improvements

    Hi!

    Make easier to copy all or part of the comments:

    • currently the selection cursor doesn't appear until it's very close to the text. Make it appear immediately when it's touching the right or left edge of the comment (not the text edge).

    • make it more compact for PC screens (not tablets, etc). There's too much empty space and padding which means more scrolling. E.g. 1) Leftmost side is kind of mostly empty, except containing the icon of the commenting user. 2) Page number line only contains page number and could have less padding. 3) Resolve/Accept buttons line only contains those buttons, and also has too much padding. 4) Commenting person line, similar problems.

    • perhaps make option to display the commenting person/date, most of the time I don't need to see this information for every comment.

13. Adjust Text Frame With Type Tool

    It KILLS me every time I input or type text in INDD and get the cursed overset text error, but I have to switch to the Selection Tool to reframe the text box, then switch back to the Type Tool and continue. PowerPoint and even Google Slides allow you to move your cursor near the boundaries and adjust the size of the text frame without switching tools.

    What's more, switching to different tools while editing type is slightly annoying. Because you can't hit 'v' for selection tool, you either have to click the selection tool or click outside the text frame then hit 'v'. I'd love to see the type tool be able to adjust the text frame when you move the cursor to the corners and centers of the bounding box. I think any typographer and designer would be in love with this feature.

    You can easily achieve this without the need to switch to the Selection Tool.
    Hold down the Ctrl key (while you are in text edit mode or even when you are not in text edit mode or when the text frame that you want to resize is not even selected). When you hover the mouse over the text frame, you will see Resizing handles (shown as 9 solid points on the bounding box) – you can drag to resize the text frame.

14. truly floating frames such as are available in FrameMaker

    FrameMaker has a fabulous option for anchored frames that allows it to truly "float" in the sense that if the text flow causes the anchor to be too close to the bottom of the page, the floating frame will appear on the following page.
    With InDesign the frame will stay on the same page, appear at least partially above the anchor, in which case the text-wrap doesn't get applied so an image inside the frame would for example cover part of the text.
    So I would request to implement FrameMaker's version of floating frames!

16. Find / Change Format enhancements (find font variants / implement NOT logic)

    I've just been conducting extensive Find / Replace operations on a number of documents, and I've been struck with a way to streamline certain operations. It's currently possible to find specific formats, either specifics relating to the typeface(s) used, size, leading, etc.; or search for specific character and / or paragraph styles.

    When searching for specifics, it would be useful to be able to search for a more generic usage of 'Italic', say - so, if you search for 'Italic', it would match 'Italic', 'Bold Italic', '500 Italic', 'Oblique' etc. Currently you must search for every iteration of italic based on the specific reference used by the typeface you're using.

    A second enhancement would be to implement NOT logic in the search which would enable the finding of manually-formatted text (search for all instances of 'Italic' that are NOT already assigned with the character style 'Italic'). The current method means you have to manually check all instances, irrespective whether they're already formatted.

17. Add ''SAVE ALL'' and ''CLOSE ALL'' into INDESIGN ''File MENU''

    Add ''SAVE ALL'' and ''CLOSE ALL'' into INDESIGN ''File MENU''. Using Indesign for years and years, I never see that the shortcut exists ! And past many time saving or cloqsing file by file. Don't you thik it could be a great idea to code it inthe FILE MENU of Indesign... It could be great when using Books and many files at the same time.

18. QR WiFi Code generation

    QR codes can embed a WiFi password and network information to automatically join the network when scanned. It would be great if the QR Code Generator in InDesign could add this type of QR Code into its capabilities!

19. Review link will be deleted after saving Copy

    Bug: If you generate a review link and save after this a copy of the .indd. Then the review link is deleted and you have to generate it again. This new link is different from the first one.

    I think The review link for the original file should stay the same after saving a copy.

20. Collaborating on translating

    Hi everyone! First I have to say I love all the new features that are slowly being integrated into InDesign. But in all my honesty I really miss one..

    We now can enjoy Share for review which I really love on getting comments from my clients. But what I would love to have is a online tool where my colleagues can enter translation for the file I worked on. Now I export files to pdf and make them in to a word file but that workflow takes a lot of time.

    I know tools like redokun.com but they are expensive and have limited page restriction for the smaller account.
    So like an online tool like share for review would be great for my colleagues that don't now how to use InDesign...
