Background Task Animated Icon has been changed in the recent version of InDesign. It is now shown as a rotating cursor (instead of the stacked cards/hamburger type icon in previous versions).

An error occurred while saving the comment Tom Van Damme commentedI thought this would have been solved with the new updates, but no such luck :)
Apparently the selection works as expected when selecting text from left to right: simply starting inside a character selects that character when you move to the right, but it does NOT include said character when moving to the left. This used to be consistent in both directions.
I have added a screen recording to show the behaviour.
An error occurred while saving the comment Tom Van Damme commentedI'm noticing the same thing. I cannot recall having this issue before but only recently I noticed that when highlighting text you really have to strike over the ENTIRE character in order to highlight it.
It used to be more forgiving: when you started at about 80% of a character it would still add that character to the selected text.

An error occurred while saving the comment Tom Van Damme commentedYou could increase the pasteboard margins, but that's not a very practical workaround. The overscroll feature would definitely be much easier.

Adobe InDesign teamTom Van Damme supported this idea ·An error occurred while saving the comment Tom Van Damme commentedPasting resets all Text Frame Options, apparently. I lose font and style as well.
An error occurred while saving the comment Tom Van Damme commentedSame here - when copying a text box all attributes seem to get lost: font, styles, text frame options like inset spacing and vertical justification, it resets the pasted text box to default settings.

InDesign TeamAn error occurred while saving the comment Tom Van Damme commentedIt seems this problem occurs mostly when selecting elements in a table, not a regular text box. At least that's when it crashes for me.

Thank you everyone for your continued patience! Apple just released the macOS High Sierra 10.13 Supplemental Update. This will fix the cursor issue with InDesign on macOS High Sierra. Please go to the App Store to update.
An error occurred while saving the comment Tom Van Damme commentedAs long as you keep Indesign in foreground it seems OK - cursors remain functional. Switching between apps triggers the error for me.

Upgraded to 16.0 and the bug is still there.
Is it related to another setting maybe?
