I understand the confusion and apologise for the same. Before we could get out the issues in a release we posted the workaround plugins for any users who were blocked due to the bugs.
We have now send out an update to all InDesign users which has those bug fixes in them. Again sorry for the inconvenience.
Regards

Hi All,
This indeed a great suggestion. I wanted to understand a little more about this request.
1. The way this request is described its majorly about figuring out how to change the various text attributes in a single step rather than having to change multiple styles to make that happen. It would helpful if you can mention which all attributes you all would want to be dependent on the baseline (space before/after, size, leading any other).
2. Which kind of documents (magazines, brochures, books etc.) do you see this to be more important for you.
3. Wouldn’t a similar method (not sure if we could base it on baseline though!!) for changing the layout also help, if you could define the sizes of objects in relation to the page size. Do you think extending this feature to the layout also makes sense.
4. If you can share some files…Bastian Saris supported this idea · -

Background Task Animated Icon has been changed in the recent version of InDesign. It is now shown as a rotating cursor (instead of the stacked cards/hamburger type icon in previous versions).

Hello All,
Thank you for your patience all this while.
We had launched our investigation into the matter to get to the root cause of the problem. As the part of our investigation, we had reached out to many of you personally over email.
We have concluded our investigation and have come up with few findings.1. For many of the users the issue got fixed after updating InDesign to a newer version.
2. For some, the issue got resolved after disabling a third-party application such as Suitecase fusion etc.
3. For few, the issue was intermittent and is no longer reproducible.
4. For majority of the users, the underlying cause of the performance issue was identified to be related to span columns, cross-references, third party plugin etc.We have created separated threads for these issues and we are now working towards resolving them.
However, over the time this thread…

InDesign TeamAn error occurred while saving the comment Bastian Saris commentedThanks for looking into it – we kinda worked around this by splitting the Text into 2 parts - this way we were able to export a print PDF. Glad you're working on this - we were lucky someone saw this in prepress so we could still react and try to fix it :)
this seems to happen with other effects too.

As part of the investigation into the cause of this issue, we personally reached out to many of you over email. We have so far heard from only some of you.
Of the responses we have received, the conclusion we’ve come to is:
This issue was intermittent, happened once during the course of work but somehow got resolved and has not happened again. This issue can’t be reproduced now.Over a period of time, this thread has not thrown any fresh clues on why this issue seems to occur randomly for some and then seems to resolve itself. So we’re closing this thread.
However, even though we’re closing this thread, if you again run into this issue any time on a consistent basis, please report it here on UserVoice (in a new thread) with supporting assets like:
A) a test file,
B) detailed steps to replicate the issue
C) any…An error occurred while saving the comment Bastian Saris commented@Ravi Kiran: I did NOT get an E-Mail when you updated your question... is this suppost to be like that? :)
An error occurred while saving the comment Bastian Saris commentedAre you trying to drag-drop from Bridge into InDesign? => No
Did the file you were working on (when you ran into this issue) come from an older version of InDesign => Yes, most of the time - (in our case) those are Templatefiles we use to paginate products using EasyCatalog by 65-bit and have been created in previous versions (CS6 or Early CC - can't recall exactly).
An error occurred while saving the comment Bastian Saris commentedOS X El Capitan 10.11.6 - no Tablet connected - no Tablet drivers installed.
It's happening on several of our machines at work - we could never narrow it down because it seems to be absolutely random. but it is as annoying as it is random because you end up loosing a lot of work depending on when you last saved your file. (Even IDML doesn't work for us - it just crashes InDesign and the changes are lost.)
An error occurred while saving the comment Bastian Saris commentedTHIS happens to us way too often and my collegues are freaking out about it.
Are you using any Plug-Ins? Are you working on a Fileserver?
What OS are yu using?
maybe we're in things that are the same for us and can track down the issue.

Adobe InDesign teamBastian Saris supported this idea ·An error occurred while saving the comment Bastian Saris commentedsometimes the mapping really is a pain... there is not even a warning if the style is different - it just changes it without asking :| - a small "workaround" is to put all styles of one document into a subfolder within the styles - then they don't get mapped with the others - still a pain.

An error occurred while saving the comment Bastian Saris commentedI agree - it is horrible to have document specific options in the preferences of InDesign. This should never have been an option to begin with. - You can only guess what setting is for the document or globally for InDesign
