1. Color and Swatch in control panel extends pass screen edge

2. display guides distorting

   When I add objects to a page the guides are distorting, if I set guides to the back in preferences the problem stops.
   I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling indesign and updating my graphics driver with no luck
   I have attached a jpeg showing an example

3. InDesign 17.0.1 exporting to Acrobat Pro DC 2021.007.20099 and opening in Full Screen mode on Monterey 12.0.1 page transitions not working.

   The options are still there in InDesign and Acrobat to have page transitions but they no longer function. Is this a Mac issue as, apparently, Windows users don't have this issue

   Indesign help takes me to webpage that does not exist.

   Browser shows:
   Safari can’t open the page “‎community.adobe.com/chcservices/services/redirect?u=http://help.adobe.com&p=InDesign_12.0&l=en_US&id=AH_HOME” because the server unexpectedly dropped the connection. This sometimes occurs when the server is busy. Wait for a few minutes, and then try again.

   Can't get a drop down of all my fonts in Find Font- Replaced with Font Family.
   I only see minion pro and can only select a font by clicking on minion pro and using the up and down arrows to navigate.

6. Adding a word starting with the Danish letter æ makes InDesign crash

   Add a word starting with the Danish letter æ to an index invariably crashes InDesign, both the small æ and the capital Æ, no matter which method we use. Words where this letter is not placed at the beginning, like “bæverfælde", are no problem, nor are the two other Danish characters ø and å.
   We also tried to add the words from a list, using a script which places index markers on every instance in the document; this did not make InDesign crash, but no entries were added either :-(
   Perhaps connected to the fact that it is no longer possible to get such words sorted under the proper index sections headings Æ, Ø and Å?
   InDesign 19.5.

   We have released InDesign 2025(v20.2.0.036) with many stability fixes. We recommend you upgrade to the latest version (if you’re not already on it) as it is more robust.

   If you still face this issue even after updating, please submit the crash report to us. (Guidelines to submit crash are available at (https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/submit-crash-reports.html )

7. Eyedropper bug — attribute pick-up is glitched by hidden layers above

   If there are objects overlapping and above the source for the eyedropper tool, — even if those objects are on a hidden layer — the tool picks up a color of no fill and no stroke.

   If the hidden layer is dropped below the target layer, the problem goes away.

8. Alt-PgDn inserts glyph after moving to next spread

   InDesign 16.0 x64

   Normally (and on the MAC), the user can press Alt/Opt+PgDn to center the next spread on the screen.

   This is now broken on Windows. At least on the 2 PC's I use, both of which are up to date on Windows and Creative Cloud.

   What happens now is that when the Alt key is released, a glyph is inserted into the text. And this causes the display to jump back so the insertion point is visible on screen.

   Of course, if I'm not currently editing inside a text frame, the glyph doesn't appear, because there's no place for it to go.

   This new problem prevents me from using Alt-PgDn and Alt-PgUp to navigate one spread at a time while I'm editing. For some reason, InDesign processes the navigation command (when NumLock is OFF) and thenprocesses the same keystrokes as if the NumLock were ON.

9. Import dialog box drag and drop

   We used to be able to bring up the import dialog (or open, or save as too) and then drag and drop a file or folder from the Finder to be able to either go to that folder or import that file. Since upgrading to Mojave and InDesign 14.0.1 that functionality no longer works. Sometimes it does but mostly it doesn't.. It now copies whatever you've dragged into the currently open folder in InDesign. This was a real time saver before and is now a pain. It may be an Apple thing but I thought I'd post it here to see if anyone else is having the same problem.

10. Converted linked InDesign document saved in last used folder, not folder where it lives

    Steps to reproduce:

    1. Have an InDesign document with a linked InDesign document. That linked document is saved by an older version.
    2. Open linked document by Alt-double clicking.
    3. Save file. You are now presented with the last used folder, not the folder that the linked document lives in.

    This USED to work fine.

11. Drawing a line with a 0 pt stroke and changing its length triggers the error "Cannot set stroke box."

    1. Version of Adobe InDesign, InCopy or InDesign Server
       Windows 10; Japanese-language Adobe InDesign, from a version of InDesign CC 2025 (20.3.2–20.5.1?) up to CC 2026 (21.3, latest).

    2. Steps to reproduce the issues
       Draw a path with the Line Tool or Pen Tool using a stroke weight of 0 pt, then change the path length by entering a numeric value.

    3. Expected result
       The length should change.

    4. Actual result
       An error appears: "Cannot set stroke box."

12. Can't type letter "n" in text boxes

    For some reason I can't type the letter "n" in text boxes in indesign v 17.3 on Windows 10.

    In some text boxes, typing "n" does not generate the letter. In tables, typing "n" can sometimes change the cell style or paragraph style, and does not generate the letter.

    I don't have caps lock or a stuck control / alt key ... Everything else is working fine.

13. Incorrect replacement of special characters in hyperlinks while exporting to interactive PDF

    In InDesign, the special characters in hyperlinks are converted while exporting as interactive PDF differently depending on the platform (Windows or Mac) and the type of hyperlink and are thus made unusable.

    If the hyperlink replaces a text without further intervention in the document, special Characters are sometimes incorrectly replaced.

    The replacement is different depending on how the hyperlink is used in the document:
    - text that is a hyperlink
    - Assigned hyperlink to a text
    - button

    In addition, Mac and Windows export result in further differences.

    So far I only have tested the letters äüö, but cannot rule out the possibility that other special characters will be converted incorrectly.

    So it doesn't make sense.
    Please convert this different handling to a functioning one in all environments.

14. Assigned Shift+Delete to Edit→Cut; it does not work

    It's quite annoying that Adobe products doesn't support the Ctrl+Insert, Shift+Delete and Shift+Insert (Copy, Cut and Paste) operations by default. All other software on Windows does support so everybody is used with this.

    So I assigned the above shortcuts via Edit→Keyboard Shortcuts...
    The Ctrl+Insert and Shift+Insert works, but the Shift+Delete (Cut) doesn't. It seems to me a bug, Shift+Delete being hard-coded and it's taking precedence over the assigned key combination.

15. I can't see anything except drop down menu items when I create a new document

    That's just it. I create a new document. Put in the pages, margins, units etc.. then.. nothing. Nothing comes up. I can still see the menu items and am able to save the file - but I can't see it or work in it.
    I tried pressing spacebar. nah
    I tried opening from file.. nah
    I tried different views and different previews. Nothing.
    Illustrator works just fine.
    Also, what's the difference between open normal and open original?
    I can't believe I had to waste 30 minutes on this.

17. CC Library panel freezes and is unusable until InDesign is re-launched

    In the last update or perhaps the one prior, the CC Library panel freezes and is unusable. You can't select anything, search for anything, or change libraries.

    Closing the panel and opening it again has no affect.

    The only workaround is to quit and re-launch InDesign. The panel will then work for a time but will freeze again at some point.

    This horrendous bug is in addition to a new annoying one where you can't drag and drop a graphic from the document INTO the CC Library panel to add it. You have to select the graphic, then click the + icon in the panel, then click Graphic.

    In the last update or perhaps the one prior, the CC Library panel freezes and is unusable. You can't select anything, search for anything, or change libraries.

    Closing the panel and opening it again has no affect.

    The only workaround is to quit and re-launch InDesign. The panel will then work for a time but will freeze again at some point.

18. Footnotes appear directly under para unless 'Span fn across columns' is selected in text frame or footnote options

    Even when working on a single column layout, with no multiple columns in the document this happens. It means that without selecting the 'Span fn across columns' option the footnotes appear at various places in a page.

    We should not have to select this option for a single column design.

    It also seems to add extra spacing below the paragraph, even if the option is selected. As if the spacing is created for the fn, even though it now appears at the bottom of the text frame instead of after the para!

    This is using v 15.0.1 x64 on windows.

19. Hairlines/artifacts randomly appearing on screen

    1) InDesign 16.1 (and othre versions)

    2) Place an image or object. Apply a drop shadow. Pan/scroll, zoom, enable or dissable output preview

    3) Consistent rendering.

    4) Glitches of bands of light or dark pixels may appear over images, in transparencies and effects. These may come and go depending on resolution preview mode, zoom and/or if overprint preview is rendered. (The lines are similar to tiling lines in PDFx1a in that they are rendering glitches presumably caused by floating point calculations)

20. Keyboard commands do not respond in document until text field is selected

    Indesign 14.0.2 x64
    Windows 10

    After opening any document, the keyboard does not work. Print, open, and quick key selections for tool will not register until I select the ​type tool with the mouse, and click on a text field so that the cursor appears.

    I then have to click on the selection black arrow tool for any keys to start working. I use mainly quick key shortcuts and commands all day, so this occurs every new document opened.

    Could you please try clearing up(or renaming) your preferences and cache for InDesign 2019(14.0).
    If you still face the issue after doing the above, please share with us some screenshots and(or) small video demonstrating the problem.
