1. reorder print presets

   Add ability to reorder print presets, either by drag and drop or alpha or latest.
   Can reoder now with keystrokes from file menu, but that doesn't work in the print dialog box.

2. Column Rules will NOT overprint when option [x] Overprint is checked and color is NOT [Black]

   Use a swatch like CMYK 0,0,0,100 or CMYK 0,0,0,90 or CMYK 100,0,0,0 for a column rule and turn on overprint.

   Overprint attribute will not applied to the column rules.

   Tested with InDesign 17.1.0.50 on Windows 10.

   NOTE: It seems that ONLY [Black] will overprint.
   Or all tints of [Black] as long as the tints are applied to the column rule in the text frame options dialog for column rules.

   Also tested color "Cyan" by scripting. But also this color will not overprint.

3. Windows 10 PC. VBA for Excel and the InDesign CC2017 library are not functioning.

   I have a serious problem. I have a new Acer PC Windows 10. I am using Office 365 Excel VBA to control InDesign CC2017. The InDesign CC2107 Type Library is not functioning with the VBA. I have been using this setup since CS3 to automate InDesign actions and provide solutions for automating print production.

   I am trying to start a $4000 project using these same InDesign capabilities but am unable to get anywhere. I am most disappointed and upset at this occurrance and am seeking some assistance from Adobe. Attached is the software code that I am trying to implement. Also attached is a large source code file that worked well and demonstrates what can be accomplished with your products. This is a serious concern for me. This is how I make my living. 4. [ID-4275271] Find/Replace Dialog box functionality was changed in 20.3 tabbing from Find now goes to the Special Character button

   in InDesign 20.3 there was a change to the find/replace dialog box. When I tab out of the "Find what:" field it goes into "Specials characters for search" button instead of the way it used to work where it would tab into "Change to:" field.

   I work on large books with data that I cannot control how it comes in and it is not connected. These books have three versions so there are three layers to work on. I need to make the same changes to all three layers. I have a rhythm, and I tend to work fast. At this point it is pure muscle memory (18 years of doing it this way) when using find and replace. Trying to remember to add an extra tab is constantly slowing me down and really frustrating me.

   If you cannot change it back, PLEASE give me the option to disable it or turn the special character button off so it will bypass it. And work the way it used to. I do not use it, have never in 18 years used it and won't use it.

   I was able to turn off everyone single choice in that button and even with nothing to select it still has the option to open an empty drop-down menu.

   I looked at many different forums. Went through numerous settings, If I missed a way to do this I apologize and would love to know where to look.

5. Output to PDF removes bleed

   Summary: Output to PDF removed bleed

   Details:

   I laid out a book in Indesign using the 'Book' feature, with several similar sections or documents linked as a 'Book'. Each document based on the same original so all had same settings.

   I needed to output to PDF for the printer, Mixam UK. I downloaded the printer's settings, which include: output to single pages, bleed with no marks, with 'use document bleed' checked.

   I had set up the documents in Indesign in spreads with 3mm bleed as usual from the start. When looking at the output settings BEFORE output, I could see it still said 'use document settings' and showed 3mm bleed all round. See attached screenshot.

   I then output the book (Export Book to PDF) to single page PDF and uploaded to printer's website.

   I did not notice the document in fact had ZERO BLEED. The printer alerted me. I went back and output again. This time I looked more carefully and saw that 'use document bleed' was still ticked (checked), but it had reset to 0mm. I think it does it at the point of exporting the whole 'Book'.

   Workaround: I unticked 'use document bleed' and changed the bleed manually in that box to 3mm. Problem solved. 

   I see that a similar issue has been noted by Adobe but one suggested workaround is to export as single pages, link below. But I was using single pages so that is NOT the solution. Something is going wrong with 'use document settings', perhaps because it was a Book and not a single doc. (I did check each Indesign document is set up with 3mm bleed - yes they are.)

   I'm working on a Mac running OS 12.6 and Adobe Indesign 2023 on subscription.

   Anyway hope you can work on this and provide a fix or announcement so that other people don't send off their work without bleed.

   Of course the fact the printer demands a bleed without marks is making it harder for me as customer to check I've got bleed in my PDF! That bit is not your problem!

   Side note: this window for reporting bugs is too small! It's hard to see what I've already said or edit it.

6. No Font Spacing Between Words in InDesign 2019 14.0.x-2 on Mojave 10.14.x-4, Works fine in InDesign 2014 (v10.0.70) on Yosemite (10.10.5)

   So, we've had this issue on our new MacBook Pro running macOS Mojave v10.14.4 ever since last year in August when we were on High Sierra (what came with the Mac).

   Basically, InDesign is unusable with Gujarati Sangam MN on the 2019 version but on 2014 (v10.0.0.70) version on my old Mac (OS X Yosemite, v10.10.5) it works fine.

   What's causing this issue?

   We've tried the following:

   • Contacted Adobe & Apple support: Apple said to contact Adobe, Adobe was unhelpful, they suggested we look up if the font was installed it it is on the new Mac using Font book.

   • Updated Adobe InDesign 2019 to 14.0.2.

   • Arial seems to work, so maybe it's something to do with this font on new Macs or InDesign 2019?

   • Unrelated (because CC was showing trial expired from dropdown but a new account let us test the new update for 7 days, still same issue): https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/limited_access_repair_tool.html#

   Also noticed some images aren't rendering properly coming from Adobe InDesign 2014 to 2019.

   We simply cannot buy InDesign 2019/CC if this issue hasn't been fixed or can't be fixed.

   PS: Is there a way to move all the font options back to the top of the window like in InDesign 2014, rather than on the right?

   Adobe InDesign 2014 on old Mac Yosemite 10.10.5, renders fine (I made the file in this version and have been working with it ever since):

   As you can see the spacing between words is perfectly fine, very annoying how Adobe InDesign 2019 isn't accomodating for this out of the box.

   Any how, I'm thinking of just choosing a template from Adobe Stock templates to redesign this resume, since it's proving so problematic and is due to a refresh. This current resume I designed from scratch in Adobe 2014, but it doesn't seem that portable to 2019 version.

7. different color appearance of different files of same settings and colors when both windows are open and change by mouse over

   Two documents with the same settings. The same graphic in these documents appear differently in each document. But the appearance of the colors change by mouse over to look alike the colors in the other document. Both windows of the documents are opened at the same time. It must be a bug in the software.

   I'm using Indesign 18.0 of the Adobe creative cloud
   On a MacBook Pro (13-inch, M1, 2020)

8. Reveal in finder not working

   Reveal in finder not working when right clicking tab at the top of open document. Clicking "reveal in finder" brings all open finder windows to front, but does not reveal the correct file location, nor any files if no existing windows are open.

9. how about an Indesign 2019 SDK version that has examples that build w/o error in Windows 10 using vs2017

   I don't know if I am using the correct SDK for Windows how can I get the correct SDK, I know it is not an idea but a request for information, the idea is publish correct information for plugin developers on how to build plugins on the Win10 platform using VS2017 which if I am not mistaken is listed in the requirements

10. IDS 2021 (16.x Windows) Locks up when loading indd file with missing font in paragraph style

    InDesign Server 2021 Windows Edition (16.x)

    We had several indd files that had a Paragraph Style listing a font that was not actually used anywhere in the document (no text in the file was using that font.). In other words, the Style said it used "font a", but there was never ANY text actually using "font a" in the file. "Font A" is a non-system font that was installed on the desktop. If you load the indd file in InDesign Desktop, no errors occur, and Preflight says there are no errors, as expected.
    If you remove the file from the desktop, and then open the indd file in InDesign desktop, you still get no errors and no preflight errors, even though the font is defined in the Paragraph style.
    If you then use COM to control InDesign Server (windows edition), and tell it to load the indd file. InDesign Server will lock up. No errors are shown on the console or event log, IDS just LOCKS UP..
    If you package the indd project and tell it to include document fonts, it will not include the font defined in the Paragraph style unless text using that font is actually in the document.
    I don't think InDesign Server should LOCK UP in this circumstance.

    We had this happen with some 60+ indd files, and it took a lot of trial & error to determine what actually CAUSED the lockup.

    To reproduce:
    1) Use InDesign Desktop to create an InDesign document.
    2) Define a Paragraph style using a font that is NOT installed on the InDesign Server.
    3) Define a text frame using that Paragraph style. Do not actually put ANY text in the frame.
    4) Save the InDesign document.
    5) Use COM to bind to an instance of InDesign server APPLICATION object (called "app" in this example.
    6) Use the APPLICATION instance to open the indd file in OpenCopy mode ((InDesignServer.Document)app.Open(<filename>, InDesignServer.idOpenOptions.idOpenCopy)
    InDesign server will never come back. It locks up.

    If you edit the indd file and change the Paragraph style to be a font that is actually installed on IDS, then the open returns an instance of the DOCUMENT COM object as expected.

    InDesign Server 2021 Windows Edition (16.x)

12. Adobe Indesign server doesn't indicate license issues

    An Indesign Server setup was no longer running properly. The soap client could no longer connect to the instances.

    However, the Windows Indesign server service was running. There were no errors in the Windows event viewer. Rebooting the service and server had no effect.

    Upon manual startup, errors were displayed stating that the license could not be verified. After opening Internet access, everything worked fine again.

    THIS SHOULD BE FIXED:
    - The Windows event viewer should show license errors
    - The Indesign server service should not be running if there are license issues. It should shutdown again. Why is the service still running if it doesn't work?

    An Indesign Server setup was no longer running properly. The soap client could no longer connect to the instances.

13. Adobe InDesign 2026 doesn't play well with 2025

    It's absolutely ridiculous to me that the 2025 version and 2026 version are incompatible with each other. I can't open old files easily with the new software. I can't drag and drop items from an older file to a new file. The functionality is absolutely awful. Do better.

14. Adobe Fonts not accessible in interactive PDFs

    Bug: Adobe Fonts are corrupting when using the Acrobat accessibility tools.

    I am making interactive PDFs from an InDesign document and Adobe Fonts corrupt upon opening in Acrobat, but just for the accessible features. (e.g., screeenreaders). I have tried clearing the cache, re-installing apps, Adobe customer support reps, etc and no one can fix the issue. I suspect it is due to licensing restrictions on editing font files - something is sending the signal that the Adobe Font is being edited when Accessibility Tools are used in Acrobat, but this should be allowed when the intention is to make the document accessible.

    1. Adobe InDesign 19.5.4 (also tried previous versions such as 20.4.1)
    2. Use Acumin Variable Pro font from Adobe in InDesign, make the document interactive (basic text form fields suffice to replicate the error), export as interactive PDF, open in Acrobat, open a screenreader and hear the corruption or open Accessibility Tools and tag the text (on a non-interactive part) and then see the text is missing letters and there are periods where spaces should be. Also, Acrobat crashes half the time during this process.
    3. Expected result - that Adobe Fonts work as other fonts in this scenario and that exports PDFs using Adobe Fonts can be edited for accessibility without issue.
    4. Crashed app, incomplete work, and failed accessible document.
    5. Can provide test file if you contact me privately (adobe).

17. Applications freezing while exporting/saving

    Hey Team,
    Indesign ocasionally freezes while hitting cmd+e for export. Also Illustrator and Photoshop freeze from time to time while saving or exporting files ...

    1. Indesign 15.03. 64 bit Illustrator 24.1.3 64 bit Photoshop 21.1.3
    2. Can't reproduce - only happening from time to time but every 10 Minutes or so
    3. Expected: saving or exporting
    4. Actual: freeze so that I have to kill the process via task manager (win 10 - uptodate)

    It ist a big pain since 2 weeks or so .. please fix it. Ah and I use shortcuts to export or save. I try if the error still persists when going the manual way per menuclicking.

    Another thing that caught my eye is: After a crash i restart the application and especially indesign doesnt recognize the screen resolution and opens with a veeeery big window ... I need to "fit to screen" to make it apply to my resolution.

    To identify the cause of this issue, we had started our investigation with the aim to resolve it. You might have also received an email from us seeking more details to help in our investigation.

    We’ve concluded our investigation and came up with the finding: Either the issue is fixed in the latest release of InDesign or the issue was intermittent in nature at the time of its reporting and is not reproducible now.

    We recommend you to upgrade to the latest version of InDesign 2021(v16.0.0.77) as it is more robust and contains a lot of bug fixes.

18. Creative Cloud Panel Broken

    Creative Cloud panel won't let me change libraries from the drop down menu. ID was working perfectly fine before Mac iOS High Sierra. Having to close down ID every 5 minutes due to the cursor issue combined with the CC panel issue makes ID almost impossible to use.

    Seriously, please get ID fixed.

19. zoom scroll pan

    Make it so Windows version of Adobe programs are capable of all gestures such as zoom and pan/scroll. This works perfectly fine on my MacBook, but on Windows I'm only able to chose if I can scroll/pan or zoom, but cannot zoom and pan. This makes working with the program extremely difficult and infuriating when it's such a simple feature that works in every other basic program.

20. missing scripts after installation ID CC13.0/ID2018 Windows

    Startup scripts are no longer running after installation. The Scripts folder is empty.
    Indesign copies the folder from version 12 and creates the folder C:\Users<user>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\InDesign\Version 13.0\de_DE
    But Indesign-scripts now are saved in C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe InDesign CC 2018\Scripts
    So you have to copy the script folders by yourself.

    Hi,

    Thanks for reporting this issue. Just wanted to confirm few things:

    1) Was there some scripts present in folder C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\InDesign\Version 12.0\de_DE and these are not copied to 13.0 folder?
    2) Is your problem just limited to folder movement or you are facing the issue that your startup scripts are not running?

    Please provide more detail about the issue. Also, It would be useful if you can provide steps to reproduce the issue.
