   InDesign 2023 18.0 x64 is consuming too much CPU in idle, without any file open.

   System: Windows 10 Pro 2H22 x64, SO 19045.2130, Workstation Dell Precision Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2603 v2 @ 1.80GHz, 16 GB RAM.

2. Fit spread in window view only works 10% of the time. Please fix issue. I just updated InDesign to 17.4 and no fix.

5. Publish Online documents have become very slow to load

   Since the dashboard update, analytics 'since published' will NOT load.

   We're also noticing publish online documents are very slow to load initially.

   I'm presuming this is all server side issues at Adobe and would like to know if its being fixed.

   Are you forcing browsers to cache online publications before loading?

   These are both major issues that might force us to see alternative solutions if not fixed soon.

6. consecutive Footnote numbering across book file with multiple sections

   Currently InDesign can't have consecutive numbering across it's footnotes if you have a publication made up of a number of book files.
   It always restarts at one.
   That's hopeless if you're doing an annual report where you need consecutive numbering across the entire book.

7. bug: stroke and fill not showing / error

   Fill and stroke is not showing when I create a shape / use a template that already has a shape in it.
   Additionally, images held in frames with those effects don't show correctly - when opening a file the placeholder frame which has an image in it will then show with a. white fill over the image, and no stroke effect.
   However, when you export as a .pdf all the file looks fine.

8. disappearing text paragraph style

   I am using InDesign 17.4 under macOS 12.6 on an iMac Retina 5K, 27", 2017 with a 3.4 GHz i5, 32GB RAM, and a Radeon Pro 570.

   When I attempt to create a new paragraph style with an active text selection and check 'Apply Style to Selection', any change I make to the new paragraph style, including simply naming the style, renders the text invisible.

   The expected result, of course, would be to have visible text.

   The actual result is invisible text.

   Relaunching ID, restarting the computer, and rebuilding the preferences file all had no effect. The only workaround I have found is to not select the 'Apply Style to Selection' option, create my style, and then apply the style in the document. From there I am able to edit the style without further issue.

   BUG/FEATURE: No SEARCH feature for indd.adobe.com documents!
   Details: I'm viewing a wine list for the restaurant Cafe Juanita in Kirkland, WA (URL below). Your indd.adobe.com viewer does NOT have a search feature. Which would be super useful on this 28 page wine list! In addition, there is no download button, so I cannot download the PDF and search it locally.

10. Indesign 2022 menus not working - renders the software ABSOLUTELY UNUSABLE!!!

    Adobe Indesign 17.3 (also happened in 17.4).
    MacBook Pro (M1 2021). macOS Monterey v12.4

    Dropdown menus don't work. If you click, nothing happens, if you double-click the menu appears but, no sub-menus are available. I have uninstalled, reinstalled, tried 17.3 and 17.4, quit, restarted - all to no avail.

    Indesign is unsuable with this bug, this requires Adobe's full attention!!!

11. Error converting when linking Excel data with a formula returning a blank cell (i.e. "")

    1. InDesign Version: 17.4 x64

    2. When importing data from an Excel document, an error message is received on InDesign whenever the data includes a formula which returns a blank cell (i.e. using IF formula and returning "").

    3. Expected result: All data from range is imported, regardless of whether cells are blank or not.

    4. Actual result: Error message reading: "Cannot convert document. An unknown error occurred during the conversion."

    5. Unable to upload jpeg or GIF (not supported, apparently)!

12. InDesign crashes after making changes to the document after exporting to pdf

    InDesign exports to PDF fine. But after looking the pdf over, I usually want to make changes. Making any more than about five changes to an InDesign document after exporting it to PDF will make InDesign crash, regardless of what those changes are. It's happening on every single document since the latest update.

13. links problems

    Problem on the new INDESIGN 17.4 update with links panel, all my links are OK and files are in the Link folder but cannot export to PDF due to not accessible URL !

    I've to manually update every files of every In design project !
    It doesn't work either with the update link folder option in the panel !

14. pdf compare

    Hi Team,

    While performing Textual compare in Acrobat DC if there is any changes in optinal hypen in a Paragraph it not shown in the compare report both Textual and Visual.

    But if we perform the same test in Acrobat 7 optional hypen changes show perfectly. We are ready to use Acrobat DC but becuase of this issue we are still using Acrobat 7. We mentioned this compare issue number of times but no action was taken so far.

    I attached Compare report (Text and visual) of Acrobat 7 and DC. I also attched the Acrobat DC version that we used, and Acrbat DC compare setting. Also attached sample PDF for your reference.

15. Menu/panel bugs

    Indesign 2022 v17.4 (up to date with latest version)
    Upon opening indesign, resetting menus and preferences, restarting, etc. Issues have been ongoing for at least a week.

    Align menu items are offset so that the ones at the bottom can't be used.
    Paragraph and character menu fields are offset, can't be selected or edited and randomly cause indesign to crash and close completely when clicked.

16. Crash on Importing Large Word File

    InDesign v17.4
    macOS 12.6 Monterey
    Mac Studio (2022)

    InDesign is crashing on importing a large (859-page) Word .docx file. The document begins to import for a couple of seconds but then InDesign crashes and there is a 'may be damaged' warning on reopening the file.

    Attempts were made to import into a completely new document and multiple variations of import settings have been tried, as has resaving, duplicating and deleting comments and saving the Word file. Smart Text Reflow has also been turned off but this hasn't helped.

17. Pages navigation jumping two pages at a time

    I've got a strange bug on a 100 single pages document. Sometimes (twice this week) when I'm using the shortcut Fn-option-up/down arrow to jump to the next page, inDesign will jump 2 pages at a time.

    It will behave like this until I double click on a page in the pages panel.

    Weird and annoying, but not sure I can reproduce.

18. Cell object is null!

    I get the third merged cell as null. Why is that?

19. Adobe Indesign server doesn't indicate license issues

    An Indesign Server setup was no longer running properly. The soap client could no longer connect to the instances.

    However, the Windows Indesign server service was running. There were no errors in the Windows event viewer. Rebooting the service and server had no effect.

    Upon manual startup, errors were displayed stating that the license could not be verified. After opening Internet access, everything worked fine again.

    THIS SHOULD BE FIXED:
    - The Windows event viewer should show license errors
    - The Indesign server service should not be running if there are license issues. It should shutdown again. Why is the service still running if it doesn't work?
