Menu/panel bugs
Indesign 2022 v17.4 (up to date with latest version)
Upon opening indesign, resetting menus and preferences, restarting, etc. Issues have been ongoing for at least a week.Align menu items are offset so that the ones at the bottom can't be used.
Paragraph and character menu fields are offset, can't be selected or edited and randomly cause indesign to crash and close completely when clicked.2 votes -
Crash on Importing Large Word File
InDesign v17.4
macOS 12.6 Monterey
Mac Studio (2022)InDesign is crashing on importing a large (859-page) Word .docx file. The document begins to import for a couple of seconds but then InDesign crashes and there is a 'may be damaged' warning on reopening the file.
Attempts were made to import into a completely new document and multiple variations of import settings have been tried, as has resaving, duplicating and deleting comments and saving the Word file. Smart Text Reflow has also been turned off but this hasn't helped.

InDesign doesn't import files
Hi !
So my issue is that InDesign doesn't allow me to import files, whether they are .jpg, .png or .eps, or else. I need to use a logo that I have in .png, but InDesign doesn't allow me to select my file to import.1 vote -
Alignment of text box ignores anchored objects
When I have an anchored object (lets say an image) hanging at the bottom of the text box, aligning the text to the bottom of the text box will align the text only, and cuts off the image at the bottom.
I imagine this also happens to images at the top of the text box, when aligning to the top.
I think that by design, anchired objects should be calculated as part of the text box's content, and should be aligned to the bottom, as text would.
If not, it should at least be an option to choose from.Thank…

Table of Contents Entry Character Styles
Table of contents entries (subheading styles in chapters) has a character style applied to it. When I generate TOC, the character styles and anchor markers if any also shows up in generated Table Of Contents. There should be an option to bypass the anchor markers and Character styles. Instead there should be an option given to add a new char style to the TOC entries, like there is for page no and between entry and page no.
In attached file the underline is getting generated everytime I update the TOC. I have to manually remove the underline. Neither GREP style…4 votes -
epub and mp3
To adobe,
I am an InDesign user, to create the e-book for the publish.Today, I face a serious problem and hope to find out a solution.
It is the problem, I insert mp3, each page around 4, the similar page around 30-40 page.
The mp3 maybe not the same on each page, it’s may different, test in the InDesign app, and all is fine.
If exported to PDF, also it is fine and could sound normally.
However, if exported to EPUB, the first 16 of the mp3 file, also means the first 4 pages can work, the rest of…

Pages navigation jumping two pages at a time
I've got a strange bug on a 100 single pages document. Sometimes (twice this week) when I'm using the shortcut Fn-option-up/down arrow to jump to the next page, inDesign will jump 2 pages at a time.
It will behave like this until I double click on a page in the pages panel.
Weird and annoying, but not sure I can reproduce.

New Document dialogue allowing impossible column gutter
When creating a new document in the New Document dialogue, InDesign (17.4) is allowing a impossible column gutters (Page Size: 8.5"x11", Columns: 1, Column Gutter: 12"). The Margins and Columns dialogue will prevent this from happening, the New Document dialogue will not. This causes issues when attempting to change files later using the Document Setup dialogue, even after the Column Gutter is adjusted in the Margins and Columns dialogue.

buggy footnote placement
Footnotes are randomly placed in the middle of the text stream, rather than the bottom of the page. I've seen it happen a couple times, but I don't know why it happens. Other footnotes are placed in the correct position.
In Document Footnote Options, Place end of Story Footnotes at Bottom of Text is UNchecked. However, I get the same result if it IS checked.
The worst part is that there is NO way to correct this!
I tried to upload the INDD files, and a PNG screen shot, but in both cases, it produced an error, "Files are not…

CC Library Issues
2 CC Libraries bugs since the new update:
- "Search current library" not working, you aren't able to type anything in
- When opening the CC libraries window, if you have multiple monitors the window will appear blank, but the thumbnails of all your items in the library will be on the other monitor. Adobe Illustrator does the same. The only fix I've found so far is snapping the window to the other monitor.1 vote -

Rulers exceeding text boundaries, only paragraph shading or offsets seem to be able to limit them
The issue is described in this thread (sample .INDD file link included in the thread to reproduce the issue):
The excess rulers that go beyond the text boundary can only be removed (or masked, not sure which is actually happening) with paragraph shading.
As a rule, rulers should not go beyond the text boundary, and they should adapt to the text boundary (if font size have been changed, or if other changes have been made that affect the layout).
But the green arrows show that in some cases the boundary is correct.
It shouldn't be necessary to add both…

Table border selector problem
Table border selector lines are extremely thin at minimal UI scaling, hard to select and see. In previous Indesign versions versions it was much thicker. Screenshot attached.
