1. Problem with "Honor Text Indents in addition to Text Wrap" turned ON and using the indent-to-here character at the same time

   InDesign version 18.2.1, I searched but couldn't find the same issue anywhere else, so I report it here. Attached is a PDF file with the problem. Description is as follows.

   There are 3 paragraphs of text, the middle one in black color to be clear. "Honor Text Indents in addition to Text Wrap" is ON.

   Needless to say that NO yellow frame has any runaround applied to it. They are there for illustrative purposes.

   On the second (black text) paragraph, everything is just OK. The paragraph has a 20 mm left indent and the runaround of the red frame is 30 mm. All is working as it should.

   But, on the 3rd paragraph, immediately before the bold-red-all_caps text in the first line, I have inserted and "indent-to-here" character, to which indent 30mm more of space is added due to the runaround of the frame and the option "Honor Text Indents in addition to Text Wrap" turned ON. The lower part of the same paragraph (just after the yellow frame with 30mm in it) is correctly indented to the "indent-to-here" character, something that SHOULD have occured to the whole paragraph.

2. variable font bugging out in InDesign

   I am using General Sans variable font in Indesign which has not stopped working properly after packaging the document and prepping it to print.

   Some areas of the font are showing as Italics even though they are not and should not be and there is no way to change them.

   After researching it looks like variable fonts are not ready to be used in all Adobe programs for a seamless process.

3. "Insufficient data for an image" error is shown on opening PDF in Acrobat

   We are experiencing issues with exporting to PDF. Hi res PDF Compatibility Acrobat 7 (PDF 1.6).
   The PDF is created normally, but when opening the PDF, it sometimes happens that the image is not displayed on one or more pages. The error message for this specific page is: ERROR: Insufficient data for an image.
   We tried to solve this problem within our team. Eventually, we discovered that the issue did not occur for one of our colleagues. Further investigation revealed that this colleague was still using an older version of InDesign (18.3). The colleagues experiencing problems had automatic updates enabled and were working on the new version 18.4. I then uninstalled my 18.4 version and reverted back to 18.3, and the PDF exports started working as before without the error message.

   I hope you can look into this and perhaps address it in the new InDesign version.

   Bonjour, j'ai un bug d'affichage intermittent sous InDesign que je constate depuis plusieurs versions (depuis au moins fin 2021) : lorsque j'appuie sur "w" pour passer du mode de l'écran "Normal" au mode de l'écran "Aperçu", j'ai parfois des aberrations graphiques qui m'empêchent de voir correctement la double-page et qui persistent jusqu'à ce que je revienne en mode "Normal". 5. Greyed out screen when I open InDesign

   Help! I am desperate to figure out why this was happening. I recently cleaned out my computer library/cache to free up storage, then updated to InDesign 2023. For the past couple hours I keep getting this screen. Everything is updated, but I have no idea how to fix this.

6. Creative cloud libraries tool displaying smaller than frame 2023

   The CC libraries tool panel appears at a reduced % of the actual window frame size. Sometimes it's usable (in tiny format) but other times you can't actually click on anything.

   Have uninstalled and reinstalled the software and the problem remains.

   Also for what it's worth it only started happening when I installed on my new PC laptop (no issue in same software version but on old laptop)

8. Parent page export differently gradient levels left to right

   When exporting facing pages with mirrored background images and gradient settings, all left pages seem to be darker and slightly warmer. The files are placed and linked to the same image from my hard drive and even swapping each image left to right causes the same bug. I even made a new parent page from scratch with the same issue. Pages look exactly the same in Indesign preview. The issue reverses when exporting a JPEG, where the left page is lighter and the right is darker.

9. anchored object ignores textwrap of the first line

   When anchoring an Object in a text and selecting the object to wrap around the text, the first line ignores this command.
   When searching for a solution, i stumbled upon this entry describing the problem.

   the only solution seems to be to anchor the text in a previous line.
   However, I want my textanchor to be on the right spot, so a screenreader can read it correctly - so anchoring it one line above is no option for me.
   Is there a fix to this problem?

10. Reading order issue when a footnote is split over to next page or column

    When a footnote split over to next page or column, the accessible PDF generated from InDesign CC 2023 has notes reading order messed up. The first note reference on the page where the portion of a note comes in from the previous page/column reads the continued note text and likewise the second note reference reads the first note and so on. Eventually the last note is read at the end regardless it's note reference. It's a serious issue because not only the reading order needs to be fixed for the last note on the page that has splitting to the next column or page but also all the notes appearing on that page where the split portion has come in will also need to be fixed manually.

    To my mind It's a critical bug that is making InDesign unusable to create accessible content and needs to be addressed on highest priority.

11. Crash on pdf export

    We do a lot of sometimes large presentations in Indesign that have other external Indesign documents in them, that pdf fine, yet when I add pages to them it crashes when I export and there's nothing I can do to fix it other than removing the pages I've added.

12. Object Layer Options is broken in v18.3

    When turning off a layer in a placed PSD file with "Object Layer Options", other layers in the PSD are also turned off, even though their respective visibility icons indicate they are showing.

    See the attached file. The "Gradient Map 100" layer makes the image purple. However, when hiding the "Generative Layer 1" layer, the effect of the former layer is broken.

13. Wrong hyperlink position when using index entry fields in imported document

    Version of Adobe InDesign, InCopy or InDesign Server
    InDesign 17.4.2 / 18.3 (identical behaviour)

    Steps to reproduce the issues

    Create a Word document in .docx file format, add some text and some index entry fields, then a hyperlink at the end
    Save file and place in InDesign

    Expected result
    Document is imported and hyperlinks remain in the same place

    Actual result
    Document is imported and hyperlinks are shifted backwards by 1 character for each index entry field.

    The error occurs regardless if you place the document into an existing text frame or create a new text frame by placing the document.

    This renders existing hyperlinks in a document completely out of place and unusable, especially for later EPUB exports.

    Version of Adobe InDesign, InCopy or InDesign Server
    InDesign 17.4.2 / 18.3 (identical behaviour)

14. Drag-and-Drop text editing in Layout view problems

    I was working on InDesign layout with Word text with some text originally in Arabic - with some numbers (dates) only for a reason I cannot understand, but it was a text about oriental philosophy... I discovered that my body text paragraph style (for a strange reason) used Adobe Worlld-Ready Single-Line Composer (it was not my choice!). That selection made the one letter Drag-and-Drop editor in the Layout view not work correctly. When I changed the composer to a simple paragraph composer everything is OK again...
    Made an experiment - on Latin-based text with World-Redy composer one cannot use Drag-andDrop edit on one letter. But change the composer and all is well again...

15. Paragraph Keep Options to "Start on next Odd Page" confused by Text Wrap

    Noticed a strange behaviour with keep options. If Keep Options says to start on next odd page, and there is Text Wrap that makes the upcoming odd page unavailable the Paragraph may start will start on the next available text frame, even if this is on an even page. I would have assumed that the Paragraph would start on the next available odd page.

    (How do we post a test file if we cannot attatch indesign file ot zip ? )

16. Imprimir folleto

    Imprimir folleto "cosido" prepara las paginas para la encuadernacion cosida o acaballada, la previsualizacion es correcta. Pero al imprimir, desordena las paginas y el compaginado resultante es erroneo.
    Nota: Probé tambien actualizando a la ultima versión de InDesign, pero sigue el mismo problema.

17. Indesign CC 2018 crashes while selecting the type tool or font option from type menu

    I am running Adobe InDesign CC 2018 13.0 x64. Whenever I open a new document and select the type tool, InDesign crashes. Same thing happens while clicking font option from type menu. Also, any premade INDD/INDT files aren't opening, it crashes every time. I have reinstalled several times, trashed preferences but of no use. I am running a Windows 10 version 1909 64 bit with OS built 18363.1801.

18. Bug: file conversion from newer ID version fails when done in a specific way

    ID version: 17.1
    System: Windows 10
    Steps:
    1. Double-click an INDD saved by a newer version of ID, perhaps 18, while ID isn't running yet.
    2. ID will start, try to open the file and come ip with the conversion dialog. If you then click "Convert", it won't actually convert the file, but do nothing. In this case you would have to close the conversion window and while ID is now running, double-click the INDD again.
