Custom fonts in bold/black appears thin and bold in latest versions of InDesign and Photoshop
Custom fonts in bold appears alternately as bold and thin in the latest version of InDesign (19.0.1) and Photoshop (25.1) I've tried deleting all apps and installing again, but it doesn't help. The problem only occurs in Adobe programs. Not in Word etc. It works fine, when I'm installing an older version of InDesign, fx 18.5.
The font that is used is the Google font "Outline".

Hi @Jenya
I aldready did. I was in contact with a supporter for about an hour over screen sharing and we determined that it's a version error.
As I mentioned, the error occurs in InDesign (19.0.1) and Photoshop (25.1)
When I install an older version of InDesign, fx 18.5. and Photoshop the problem is not there anymore. The supporter asked me to create a ticket here so that the bug could be fixed in later updates.

If custom fonts in bold or black appear thin or bold in Adobe InDesign and Photoshop, there are several potential reasons for this issue. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the problem:
1. Check Font Installation:
Ensure that the custom fonts are correctly installed on your system. Sometimes, font installation issues can lead to rendering problems. Reinstall the fonts if necessary.
2. Font Format Compatibility:
Confirm that the custom fonts are in a compatible format (TrueType or OpenType) for use in Adobe InDesign and Photoshop. Some applications have issues with certain font formats.
3. Clear Font Caches:
Clear the font caches on your system. Font caches can sometimes become corrupted and cause font rendering issues. The process for clearing font caches varies depending on your operating system.
4. Update Adobe Software:
Ensure that you are using the latest versions of Adobe InDesign and Photoshop. Check for updates using the Adobe Creative Cloud application and install any available updates.
5. Check Font Styles:
Confirm that the custom fonts have distinct styles for bold and black weights. Some fonts may not have well-defined bold or black variants, leading to unpredictable rendering.
6. Font Rendering Settings:
Check the font rendering settings in both InDesign and Photoshop. Sometimes, altering anti-aliasing settings or using different rendering methods can affect how fonts appear.
7. Glyph Variants:
Some fonts may have specific glyph variants for bold or black styles. Ensure that you are selecting the correct glyph or character variant from the font menu.
8. Create Outlines:
As a temporary workaround, you can convert text to outlines (vector shapes) in Adobe InDesign or Photoshop. Keep in mind that this will make the text uneditable as text but may help in situations where font rendering is problematic.
9. Printer and Screen Settings:
Check your printer settings and screen display settings. Sometimes, issues with printer drivers or display settings can affect font rendering.
10. Contact Font Vendor:
If the issue persists, contact the vendor or creator of the custom font. They may have insights into any known issues or updates related to font rendering in Adobe applications.
11. Test in Different Environments:
Test the document on different computers and environments to see if the issue is specific to your system. This can help determine if the problem is related to your setup or a broader compatibility issue.
If the problem persists after trying these steps, you may need to reach out to Adobe Support for more specific assistance or contact the support channels of the font vendor for guidance
