1. InDesign does not handle a nukta with Tamil script

   The Tamil Unicode block does not contain a nukta, for languages written in Tamil script that need a nukta there are two characters in the Grantha block that can (possibly) be used.

   U+1133B COMBINING BINDU BELOW
   U+1133C GRANTHA SIGN NUKTA

   Dotted circles are shown, and left vowels are not always re-ordered.
   This is with InDesign 16.1 on Windows 10 Dev channel of Insider Preview

The file chrome.png shows the result (which is desired) from the Chrome browser, also on Windows 10.

   Note that the display of text in this bug report is similar but not exactly the same as with InDesign.

2. I work with book interiors. Have been reading about the nightmares designers have had adjusting the margins of text boxes

   I am not a cool millennial but I work with book interiors. Have been reading about the nightmares designers have had adjusting the margins of text boxes once there are several hundred pages and changing the master pages doesn't alter the actual position of the text boxes. Can I agree with the comments attached below -- to you Adobe company people -- don't **** off loyal users who were using Adobe before the millenials were born -- PLEASE STOP taking away features!!!!! I have recently updated to ID2021. Am I still going to have this bug -- as I now need to adjust the margins a tad away from the spine having just received the hard proof of a 500 page paperback. Thanks :-)

   Again Adobe, the upset stems from your same and recurrent problem (across your product "upgrades"), you don't get it: stop "taking away" features (especially default ones, like you changing the psd default "constraint proportion"... so bad).
   Add new options to old features if you think it improves, we'll click it ON if/when it's suits our type of work (or way of working), but don't (why???) take away what's there, works and have been working for ever.

   It's amazing the lack of knowledge (or depth of knowledge) you too often demonstrate about how your software are (day in-day out) being used/by whom/and for what kind of projects. Try test driving with people who have been working with them for more than 5 minutes, they might not be cool millennials, but they sure understand Indesign (and PSD, and AI...), and are not confused about "which software" to used for doing "what" well.

   For myself, it's sadly the number one complaint I have with Adobe. I use your software every day and find them truly amazing and I think Indesign is the top in it's field.

3. Images not importing within frame

   Indesign has started randomly importing images incorrectly - sometimes with the frame much larger than the image, sometimes with the image out of the frame bounds, forcing me to resize each frame to fit the image. Very frustrating.

4. Swatch pallet not showing current color in use

   Since the latest update to version 16.1 the color swatches do not show which color is currently in use. You cannot toggle between the fill and border either in that pallet. The color swatches work in the top menu and the left tool bar but not in the pallets.

5. Variable fonts: Feature Variations not working

   In the current version of Adobe CC, Variable fonts’ Feature Variations are not working. Please have a look at the Trial version of my typeface Pangea (https://fontwerk.com/de/fonts/pangea-superfamily):
   https://christoph.koe.berlin/_temp/PangeaVAR_Trial_2.000.ttf

   Axes for Weight, Italic, Apertures, Extenders, Inktraps and Spacing are working, but as soon as you move the sliders of the the last axes (Single-storey a, single-storey g and Straight l) the font is marked as missing and jumps back to the basic style.

   1. InDesign version 16.1, MacOS 10.14.6 and above
   2. Steps to reproduce the issues: Install font via FontBook, move sliders in last three axes
   3. Expected result: Glyphs a, g, and l are exchanged
   4. Actual result: Glyphs a, g, and l are not exchanged, font is marked as missing and jumps back to the basic style

7. New Color Swatch button greyed out

   When color None is active, the New Color Swatch button is greyed out, while in the menu New Color Swatch can still be accessed. Please make the button work always.

8. Picture box, dragging/moving is erratic and tricky

   There is no ghosting or even greeking of the images during a move, scale, and the box often sticks and can't be dropped.

9. right click on the REVEAL in BRIDGE

   When I go to the LInks Panel and right click on Reveal in Bridge, both the 2021 version and this beta take me to the CC App screen, Not Bridge. Bridge is installed and is current

10. In-Design still doesn't support the Automated Numbers in "Devanagari Script" Indic Language Marathi & Hindi

    Hello Team, since i am using In-design for my work almost everyday, and a die hard fan for using Unicode fonts for Indian Language (JFYI I mostly work in Hindi + Marathi languages and Devanagari Script used by both these languages) and I use many fonts including that of Adobe and locally developed Unicode fonts

    the Major issue I am facing is In-Design still doesn't support the Automated Numbers in "Devanagari Script" they still appear in English / Roman Numerals, which is a very annoying thing to see page numbers & auto numbered lists Showing Numbers in English / Roman Numerals, (here i am choosing a font which does have numerals designed in Devanagari Script)

    Moreover, if I try to use the same Unicode font in CorelDRAW / QuarkXpress, it gives me proper & desired output i.e. to say, I get proper Devanagari Numerals for automated things like TOC & Index entries, so also the most crucial page numbers & numbered para lists

    Few months ago I have also put in a "uservoice" request hoping to resolve this issue, but its still pending,

12. It takes forever to update the link for review.

    When I go the Share for Review menu and try to update the link, it starts to "think" and nothing else happens. It lasts for more than 10 minutes and I just give up. Indesign version 16.1

    After few hours with no activity on Mac with Silicon disappear the Selection Tool cursor on the artboard. Quit the app and reopen it works as a solution for now.

18. Working Together with Other Designers

    I work in a team of 4 designers, and on occasion we have to cover for each other and finish/amend something someone else has started. We can share for review with other departments to add their amendments fine, however if someone else opens the .indd file on our shared server they can't see the comments. Is there not a way to make the comments save to the document itself instead of the account?

19. QuickLook preview?

    Almost every file on my computer is a Space Bar press away from a quick glance to review it's content. Many even allow for scrolling through the pages of a pdf or presentation, but InDesign still only displays and icon. Even with "Always save Preview Images with Document" selected.
    I've seen this issues being discussed back to 2007 and it still hasn't been addressed beyond "use a 3rd party"... that's a terrible answer to missing features.
