"Synchronization completed successfully..." message shows up even if AppleScript's user interaction preferences set to "never interact"
When synchronizing a book via AppleScript, the "Synchronization completed successfully..." dialog shows up even if the user interaction script preferences are set to "never interact".
Yes, this message has the "Don't show again" option. However, it's still a bug - because the dialog shouldn't show up at all when user interaction is suppressed.
On new installations of InDesign or new machine, this message always causes confusion to end users. It means that running the script for the first time will always fail. Users get upset.
Hope it can be fixed! No dialogs should show up when user interaction is disabled…

Hyperlink causing InDesign to crash
I have an issue in a file that I'm working with where if I scroll to a certain point in the hyperlink panel, my entire InDesign program crashes. I've tried deleting all of the hyperlinks one-by-one, and I noticed that it always crashes when I reach the same point (about 2/3rds down the list).
I think there's a hyperlink that's become an issue within the file, and whenever InDesign tries to show that specific one within the hyperlink panel, it crashes.

Hi, I have recently started using InDesign (latest Version) for our Digital Magazine. This is only our second issue and there seems to be rendering issues on IOS 8+ devices, particularly mobile. Some of the Text is missing or bits of clipped text appears. Two of our clients have come back to us. Have you any ideas how to sort this problem? We publish the magazine through Issuu. I have attached a screen shot of one of the articles a client sent to me, it is missing the headline and some text throughout.
Any advice most welcome as we are…

Share for Review Comments Sign In Bug
My idea is to let people comment on Share for Review for Indesign even if they don't have an Apple, Google, or Facebook account. Not sure why Adobe wouldn't allow people to enter their email as a guest to make comments? Makes no sense to me.
1 voteAs a ‘Reviewer’, you do not need to have Apple/Google/Facebook account. You can Review as a Guest.
The ‘Designer’, when he creates and sends the link to you (the Reviewer), has to create a ‘Public Link’ in InDesign. When you as the reviewer open that Public Link, you can Review and Comment as a ‘Guest’.
Hope it helps and you will be able to use Share for Review feature and find it useful.

ID freezes when selecting several characters
When trying to select several characters in inDesign 15.1.1.x64 under Windows 10 v1909 Home, the app inevitably freezes up.. This happens when selecting with the mouse as well as when using the arrow keys. So far I couldnʼt find any workaround. I consider this a lethal bug since it makes adequate editing a virtual impossibility. My subscription version is up to date.
1 voteClosed: Not Reproducible · AdminSanyam Talwar (Senior Lead Software Engineer, Adobe InDesign) respondedTo identify the cause of this issue, we had started our investigation with the aim to resolve it. You might have also received an email from us seeking more details to help in our investigation.
We’ve concluded our investigation and came up with the finding: Either the issue is fixed in the latest release of InDesign or the issue was intermittent in nature at the time of its reporting and is not reproducible now.
We recommend you upgrade to the latest version of InDesign 2023(v18.2.1.455) as it is more robust and contains a lot of bug fixes.
We seek your support in our continual effort to improve InDesign.

Wrong use of German term »Nutzen« in the PDF export options dialogue
The term »Nutzen« is not used correctly as this usually refers to how many units of a design you put onto a printing sheet.
What it should read in the options is simply »Doppelseite« or »Doppelseite fortlaufend« or »Doppelseite (Deckblatt)« or »Doppelseite fortlaufend (Deckblatt). The term »Nutzen« should be omitted completely.

Please update to this new version of InDesign to get the fix.—

ctrl+[
Version 15.1.1.
Using CTRL + [ when the CC Libraries Window/Tab is open closes the window on the workspace instead of sending the selected object backwards. I have to manually go back to the Toolbar and check CC Libraries so it can reappear again only for it to close out again when I use CTRL + [ unless I manually click on my artboard or close out of the window first before using the shortcut. Maybe it's a shortcut that I'm unaware of, and if it is I think it's being shared with a shortcut that is used too frequently…

Paragraph bottom border overlaps the text
As I mentioned here: https://community.adobe.com/t5/indesign/paragraph-bottom-border-overlaps-the-text/m-p/11348398?page=1 the issue occurs when I set a paragraph style with a border and additionally anchor a text frame at the end of it. The border overlaps each time changes to text are made (additional lines, adding a page, deleting a page – everything that causes the flow of the text).
Some similar issue was reported here https://indesign.uservoice.com/forums/601180-adobe-indesign-bugs/suggestions/38784706-footnotes-in-paragraph-borders-style by swapan.
InDesign version ID 2020 15.1.1 and PR Installer (15.1.2.221) on Windows 10. The problem occurs since I have started using a combination paragraph border + anchored text frame (more than 8 month ago). For testing I…

OpenAsset extension in ID 2020 for Mac
I installed the OpenAsset extension in my InDesign 2020 on a Mac running OS Catalina. My Exchange says that I should be able to launch it from Windows > Extensions > OpenAsset. There is no Windows menu option; under the Window option there is no Extensions submenu anymore.
Please advise. I use this extension extensively with work.
Thanks,

Paragraph Style Panel Not Showing All Styles
Bug: Paragraph Style Panel does not show all styles, when scrolling I cannot get beyond the 43rd paragraph style, the scroll stops at that point. Multiple restarts and reordering the list by name did not clear the issue. This also appears to be in the Based On Paragraph selection when creating a new paragraph style.

MacOS Big Sur Creative Cloud Download Manager iCon not clearly visible in Apple Menu
MacOS Big Sur Creative Cloud Download Manager iCon is barely showing up at the top of my screen. Since the top control bar in Big Sur is now transparent, I am using a black background so its quite faint. Attaching screen shot. This wasn't an issue with previous OS and had the same black background.

Content log access
If a file gets lost there is no way to check the log of the last 7 days or more.
One can only see the 20 last used files.
Is there a way to access the content log to check what happened to all the files worked on?1 vote -
Image Zoom Feature for Publishing
Would love the ability to create simple zoom options for exporting images. For example in Epub format for viewing in iBooks on the Mac. It is very difficult to see some of the smaller images after publishing and iBooks will not let you zoom.
When utilizing multiple images, it would be great to be able set up a simple way to make images interactive so that they can be zoomed into or popped up in a larger format for viewing.

Books documents styles - shared without syncing
Manually syncing styles between documents is clunky and prone to error.
Styles for a book should be centrally definable, and accessible by individual documents. There should be a single source for paragraph, character, table, cell styles as well as footnote/endnote options.

Box Overlay Not 100% Transparent When Printed (solved)
Finding that grouping items and then applying an effect (like outerglow) to the group causes transparency issues when printed. I have a graphic created with multiple paths, grouped it, applied outer glow, and now when printing, the overlay "box" of the grouped item interacts incorrectly with the layers below it when printed.
In the attached image:
1. Design without grouped elements - the white burst in the background looks fine
2. Design with the grouped elements with effect applied, notice how the "box" around the mask is sort of visible? Like there is an effect on the box causing it…1 vote
