1. Unreliable color management with object layer options

   (Indesign-Version 16.2)

   Hello. I've already posted in the Community and we think, it's a bug in Indesign. This was the description of my post:

   The problem is: When I use Object > Object Layer Options to show and hide layers in a .psd file, I have had the problem that the color management isn‘t working reliably.

   Sometimes, the ICC profile „Document RGB“ is displayed in the InDesign document by mistake, even though the linked image is using the ICC profile „sRGB“.

   If I do the same with placing (File -> Place -> Show Import Options -> Layers), it works.

   So far, the problem has only occurred with images using the ICC profile „sRGB“.

   Can someone explain this? Or is this a bug?

2. Scrolling redraw errors

   Scrolling quickly thru a document created for dummying a magazine, and the screen did not redraw parts of the document correctly. Happened twice before reporting. Tried uploading a screenshot, but would not post with it.

3. Selection Tool cursor disappear issue

   After few hours with no activity on Mac with Silicon disappear the Selection Tool cursor on the artboard. Quit the app and reopen it works as a solution for now.

4. Overlapping type in "Recents" window

   The "recents" window that shows after all Indesign documents are closed often displays overlapping text under the images making it unreadable.

5. Command + N doesn't work for New Document

   For some unknown reason CMD + N has stopped working as a shortcut for a new document. In the File menu, it says it's programmed as a shortcut, but it doesn't work. I reset the shortcut and it temporarily works. If I open INDD and reset the shortcut, then it'll work when I use it. But if I close INDD and then try Cmd +N, it won't work. I've reset it numerous times. I've lost count of how many times INDD has updated. And nothing fixes this problem.

   Currently working on the latest version of INDD (16.1). This problem has been persistent for many versions though.

7. CC Libraries

   InDesign 16.1. CC Libraries gets stuck. I cannot select any pictures Editing is only possible again after a complete restart. After a while it gets stuck again.

9. find/change text missing search: selection

   after making a selection, the Find/Change text dialog sometimes does not offer Selection in the Search dropdown. It will be present under GREP and Object, but not Text and Glyph. Closing/reopening Find/Change does not fix it. Restarting InDesign usually fixes it...until it goes missing again.

10. Popup menus appearing off screen, and move shortcut not working to move them back to where they are accessible.

    make popup menus either appear on one of my 3 screens, preferably the screen that indesign program is open on. And if that is too hard, let the alt-space-m shortcut to move menus work. One at the moment is the find replace fonts. it's off screen and no way to bring it back that i can find.

11. Applying a different swatch not always working (bug?)

    It happens every now and then that changing the color of text by selecting the text with the text tool and clicking on the desired swatch does not change anyting. You can select the desired color, but the text color stays the same. It does not seem to be document related and is not always happening. If you use the color picker to select a random color from the document, the problem disappears.     At this moment I am running ID CC 16.1 on a fully updated 'heavy duty' Windows 10 pc of 2 years old. I cannot reproduce the issue at the moment, because it does not happen all the time and I am currently not experiencing problems (a few days ago I did though, but had no time for posting).

12. Certain overrides on Objects Styles do not hold when synchronizing Book

    Overrides on Objects Styles when synchronizing.

    Object styles: I have all the overrides (that I tested, such as background color, type of stroke) holding, BUT the XY coordinate. (position of the object on the page)

    When I hit sync, all the overrides hold, including the size of the object (which is in the same Style menu), but not the Position. This means all the objects with the Style on it jump to their default position, resulting in a bad mess.

    My imperfect solution is to remove the XY position from the Object Styles — I want to be able to sync, but can we please fix this?

    I tested this in cc20 and cc 21

    InDesign Buttons and Forms NEEDS an "image field" due to ease of ADA Accessibility logical reading order ease. Adding image form fields in Acrobat is fine but obviously more tedious work is required to order properly. This is a much needed feature in todays ADA demanding environment

14. Tables with slanted header row

    When tables have long names for column headers, a good design solution is to ***** the header cells and their text, from 20-70 degrees.

    The table still needs to be live, editable, and adjustable (both the cells AND text) so that when needed, the headers can be changed from 60 degrees to 45 degrees.

    And when exported to PDF and EPUB, it needs to have the required accessibility tag structure:

    All we can do at this time is merely rotate the text at fixed amounts: 90, 180, and 270 degrees (shown in the bottom of screen capture). This isn't enough for many table designs, especially for those needing to design for accessible PDF and EPUB.

16. Share for review

    Hello, am I being dumb? I can share individual files, but when I try and share a book, “share for Review” is greyed out and the Review panel is black.

17. voice dictation

    Macos Big sur 11.1: when using voice dictation in combination with Indesign, in a new simple document, nothing else open in ID: when starting voice dictation , text cursor blinking and already inputting text, after a few words ID crashes. Tried it 3 times, ID crashes each time.

18. Broken Creative Cloud links when linking to InDesign documents after InDesign 2021 Update

    I work for a global creative agency. We use Creative Cloud for all of our lockups, logos and vector artwork.

    Since updating to InDesign 2021, we've noticed that all Creative Cloud links are broken and when we export a file with embedded InDesign documents within it, we need to go through and open every single InDesign file again.

    We now have to check every single link in every single exported PDF as there is almost always some broken assets that show up as white boxes.

    InDesign doesn't give any alerts for broken links in this instance either.

19. JPG PNG export zero byte files

    I can't export JPGs oder PNGs anymore.

    Indesign version 16.0.1
    MacOS Catalina 10.15.7 (19H114)

    I always get 0 byte files when I try to export on a shared network drive. Exporting to the local hard disk works fine.

20. InDesign import from Microsoft Word does not pick up all formatting

    InDesign 16.0.1, macOS 11.1, MacBook Pro M1
    1. Import Word file
    2. InDesign text randomly ignores bold and italic formatting present in Word doc. See attached screenshots.
