Links panel - use arrow keys to view each linked file's attributes
Often in large documents i like to check the attributes (ex. color space, effective PPI, etc.) of each linked file in the "Links" panel before packaging everything for the print company. Would be really nice to be able to use the arrow keys to move up and down this list instead of having to click on each file individually.

Convert graphics from RGB to CMYK
I use InDesign for a lot of print layout, and often graphics used/supplied (stock, photographs, etc.) are in RGB format. But for print I need these in CMYK format, and since ideas for which graphics to use and layouts change often before finalization I wait until the final OKs are given before converting graphics to CMYK.
The way I see this working is through the "Links" tab, although perhaps it could be done through the "Package..." function. In the Links tab, it would give me the option of right-clicking an RGB file and within that popup menu give me the option to convert the source file to CMYK. That way I don't have to open everything individually in Photoshop, convert the files then save them.
Otherwise, if this could be done through "Package..." that could work as well. Upon first exporting the Export dialog box warns about all RGB files that are linked. Perhaps there could be a checkbox somewhere to either convert the source files to CMYK, or just collect the linked files then convert them to CMYK thus leaving the source files as RGB?

lowercase icon should match the other text modification icons in the Control Panel
With InDesign 20.4 the option to lowercase text was added. But the icon in the Control Panel differs from the other icons shown there.
Please modify it, maybe like I did in the image attached to this feature request:
red = actual UI
green = better versionOf course the icon team of Adobe will make an even better solution than my simply drawing.

Stop turning all your products into Canva
The pop ups and changes to the UI are unnecessary and disruptive to decades of established workflow. Stop treating your established customer base like they're idiots and not design professionals. If wanted to use Canva I would.

Need to View and Edit Alt Text in InCopy
As an editor I need to be able to preview Alt text for Images and also edit that Alt Text if needed. Currently I need to go to Indesign to do that.

"Create Outlines" should automatically "convert bullets and numbering to text" first.
Currently you have to remember to select "Convert bullets and numbering to text" before you also select "Create Outlines." This should not be a two part process as there would never be a time when a designer would suddenly want the bullets and numbers to disappear when making outlined text for a printer.

Emoji for Print: Update EmojiOne Color and Support COLR Fonts
I work for a large book publisher and more and more books (especially YA) include a lot of emoji. To the point that having to replace all emoji with art is a tedious process. For workflow efficiency and for accessibility issues, we utilize emoji fonts and convert them to outline, then color correct for print (grayscale or CMYK). That way we can support diverse emoji and preserve the unicode values so that characters are maintained as manuscripts go from Word to InDesign.
Right now, emoji fonts that support shading and skin tone/hair color options come in two flavors--OpenType SVG and OpenType COLR. Neither is supported by print PDF standards. OpenType COLR is not yet supported in Adobe software. We are limited to OpenType SVG, which we have to convert to outline to export to PDF (for print standards and for colorspace). We are further limited by the individual font behavior of convert to outline (for example, Noto Emoji Color SVG has horrible character fidelity when converted to outline).
Adobe's emoji font, EmojiOne Color, version 1.0000, only has emoji up to unicode 9.0, which was released in 2016. Any newer emoji are not available.
My requests:
--Update EmojiOne Color with new emoji releases and keep it up to date.
--Add support for OpenType COLR in Adobe software.
--(The Dream): Create an emoji font designed for print that:
+Has CMYK or Grayscale options (emoji fonts are web based and RGB [we would still need RGB for ebook], but putting this thought out there to not forget print)
+Has shading so that skin tones, hair options, etc. are possible.
+Uses emoji unicode

New “Hide Spread/Show Spread” feature: automatic page number adjustment
I was excited to discover the new 'Hide Spread/Show Spread' feature in InDesign. Page numbers on visible spreads don’t adjust automatically when other spreads are hidden in the document. Thus the feature becomes useless for any document that uses page numbers – at least within my workflow.

Pages Folders!
Being able to group and collapse sections/chapters/draft/optional layouts would be a huge help.

InDesign home screen options
It would be great if on the InDesign home screen you could:
• sort recent jobs by name
• display preview icons at different sizes, and
• have an X to remove a file from your recent jobs preview list.8 votes -
Folders in Pages Panel
Folders in Pages Panel would be most excellent!! So multiple chapters/sections of long documents can be combined and closed up for quicker navigation.

QR error correction level
It would be nice to have more control over the QR code generator. To be more specific: add the option to choose de Error Correction Level of the code.
That way we can make small codes smaller, (especially in combination with a url-shortner) or normal codes slightly bigger to have enough error correction to have a gap in the middle (for a logo).[X] Automatic

Rename "Parent Pages" to "Master Pages" again.
For workflow reasons only, please: Bring us the OPTION to use the word: "Master Page" again. We support inclusiveness, but this is too much!
This initial idea only had 4 votes and you changed it.8 votes -
Live captions with artboard names
We create a lot of print files for clients in illustrator and proof them in InDesign. It would be great if we could import live captions for the artboard names of Illustrator files to save us having to type these out every time.

Synchronize footnote settings in books and number across document
Regarding using books and footnotes: I really, really wish the footnote settings were something you could synchronize when synching your book. Also, I wish there was an option to continue numbering throughout the individual documents. Currently, if you do not have your whole document threaded, it will restart the footnote numbering, so I have to set it to restart numbering at each page (or section).
I frequently have books with a dozen different chapters and would like the footnotes to number sequentially within each chapter; and it would be one less thing to remember to edit if the document footnote settings would synch across all chapters in the book.Regarding using books and footnotes: I really, really wish the footnote settings were something you could synchronize when synching your book. Add Wavy to Custom New Stroke Style
While it would be nice, to have full custom stroke support like Illustrator, It would be great to have a custom wavy style in addition to the current dash, dotted and stripe options. A simple option to select the wavy style with variables for, amplitude, frequency, randomness, and a toggle of smooth or linear. This would enable a lot more variety in custom strokes.

Add an "Align to Bleed" in the Align panel/options or Snap to Bleed in View.
The align pallet is invaluable to me as I design catalogs with lots of pages with bleed that switch from left to right regularly during the process, with different backgrounds too. However, when aligning to bleed, I have to manually line up the backgrounds with the bleed line, and its a minor inconvenience not to mention leaves room for human error. Would love to be able to quickly align my backgrounds to right or left outside bleeds, and also snap my backgrounds to the bleed line to make sure it is 100 percent lined up. Sometimes it looks like it isn't.

"Buttons and Forms" panel desperately needs the ability to "add an image" form field
It's imperative to add to the "Buttons and Forms" panel the ability to "add an image" form field. Primarily due to ADA compliancy regarding logical reading order and layering order. Adding an image form field in Acrobat creates a nightmare of reorganizing tags. It's cumbersome and far from efficient. Plus any future edits to the InDesign file, all of the preceding must be recreated each and every time. This is a must needed feature for interactive form filling PDFs that adhere to Accessibility standards.

In the PDF comment window, a button to delete all resolved comments
In the PDF comment window, a button to delete all resolved comments would be useful, keeping comments that have not yet been resolved.
When it gets too much comment the computer is very slow. And the tool for importing comments is very useful in my case.
Unfortunately, publishers here in Brazil make many amendments to the diagrammed files.
