  1. Column rules

    I think Column Rules in the Text Box dialog would be a winner. Easily add a vertical rule to left, right and mid gutter.

  2. Preference setting for "Preview" switch in dialog boxes

    I am wishing for a preference to switch on all the dialog box Preview switches in ALL InDesign dialog boxes; such as especially the Paragraph Styles dialog box, the Character Styles dialog box, the Text Frame Options dialog box, etc...

    Everytime I upgrade InDesign or sit in front of another classroom computer, I have to switch these on one at a time. I would love to streamline that.

  3. "Update Table of Contents" in right click context menu?

    Off course after right clicking inside TOC text.

  4. Expose missing glyphs to scripting

    It's very difficult to find missing glyphs with a script. There's a hack: look for glyph ID 0 in all the document's used font, but this hack is unreliable as it doesn't work in overset text.

    To test whether a single character is a missing in its applied font you can (try to) convert it to outlines. That too is an ugly hack, and can't be used for longer stretches of text.

    Please add a property to the Story object, say, missingGlyphs, so that the call

    myStory.missingGlyphs

    returns an array of glyphs missing in a story.

  5. Fix bug that makes windows invisible/inaccessible on opening InDesign

    Every time I first open InDesign, all the windows are invisible/inaccessible, or the window icons are visible but they don't open. The only solution I've found is to quit and reopen the program, sometimes multiple times. Using InDesign on Mac with High Sierra. Application Frame is off.

  6. Add Paragraph Shading & Border to Find/Change

    Add (Paragraph Border) and (Paragraph Shading) to Find/Change in (Find Format) & (Change Format), to make search more flexible.
    Example: Find shaded string in imported text from word document.

  7. Select all the text box in all the file to change the idiom and can use the verify correction.

    To create a tool that is possible to select all of text box of all document to change the idiom. Now, I need to select word by word using 3-clicks in the individual text box in individual page to change the idiom.

  8. Skip story in spell-check

    Spell-checking a document with Lorem Ipsum (placeholder text) can be a nightmare or sometimes impossible. It would be amazing if you could either ignore placeholder text OR skip a story completely.

  9. Option to split table rows across pages

    Lord please, if you're up there, answer our INDD prayers and make this a feature. A LOT of tables have rows with more content than can be held in a single page or bottom of a page. It's impossible to layout a continuous book or brochure if I can't get the table text to split - it doesn't have to be the default, but give me the option - please, please. WORD does this, be better than Word!!

  10. INDESIGN EPUB REFLOWABLE not exporting spaces between pages and text

    ERROR/BUG INDESIGN EPUB REFLOWABLE:

    There is an error that the reflowable EPUB does not export the spaces between pages and texts.
    This implies that you must go to other software to do so.

    More detail of the error in case No. ADB-11233384-C2H4

    No one from your technical team could solve this yet.

  11. Content Aware Fitting as an Auto-Fit option

    A bit of a scripting request, but also as a feature of vanilla InDesign, it's not available. Auto-Fit currently only supports the following properties:
    CONTENTTOFRAME
    FILL_PROPORTIONALLY
    PROPORTIONALLY
    NONE

    It would be super cool to be able to apply 'CONTENTAWAREFIT' as an Auto-Fit option on an empty frame.

  12. Center-point auto-selected when rotating images in a content frame

    I want this to be something I can set in InDesign with my workspace. If it isn't automatically set to centerm then allow me to change the preferences for the whole program.

    I make manuals that require six photos a page, and I am always having to select the center point square in the rotation toolbar.

    I would like the option for this to be my default.

  13. Add Creative Cloud Libraries to InCopy

    InCopy users would find CC Libraries very useful in many situations. Why aren't they part of the CC Library party?

    They could import selected graphics from a shared CC Lib to the story (as anchored graphics), same as they can Place them now. They could use them to bring in boilerplate text via linked InDesign text. They could use them to add styles to their standalone InCopy docs (eg, the body style for the INDD file the story will be flowed into). I'm sure there are more uses!

  14. Publish Online: Sharper elements

    InDesign seems to convert vector-based elements (linked eps/AI etc.) in JPGs when I publish online. But that's not sharp. Even with 144dpi (Retina Display …). But text is sharp … Is it possible to have alle the same sharp?! (if not the clients ask: why is the text sharp and these elements not?!) Maybe convert to svg or show a PDF …???

  15. Markierter Text

    Seit dem letzten Update reagiert die Tastatur seltsam.
    Markiert man in einem gewöhnlichen Texrahmen ein einzelnes Zeichen und schreibt ein neues ist alles wie gewohnt.
    Sobald man aber zwei oder mehr Zeichen markiert schreibt InDesign erst beim zweiten Zeichenanschlag. Das erste eingetippte Zeichen wird also immer unterschlagen, sehr nervig!

  17. Return the ability to place text on top of a photo in InDesign

    I've done all the current Adobe CC upgrades (InDesign, Photoshop Illustrator), and Mac OS Catalina, and suddenly I can't place text on top of a photo while working in an InDesign document. It used to be no problem!

  18. Add Space Before on Column Top checkbox

    Currently the ‘Space Before’ value is ignored when that paragraph appears on the top of any container—frame/column.

    There are innumerable occasions when we need the above space settings to be honoured even when the paragraph appears on the top of the column. We InDesigners resort to various antics and workaround like keeping an ‘Invisible Rule Above’ or use a character style with extra leading etc..

    It is very easily solved by a simple checkbox in the Indents and Spacing tab just below ‘Space Before’ selection which says ‘Add Space Before on column top’. If checked, the value will…

  19. Find/Change: Leave the "Search" area the same

    When I'm doing a find/change in a "Auswahl" (in english maybe "selection"? – screenshot A), the "Search" area is always changing thereafter automatically to "Textabschnitt" (text section? - screenshot B).
    It would be great if there would be no change.

  20. Target cell styles in find/change

    Working with long tables would be easier if find/change could be limited by cell style.

    It would be even better if this find/change could include inserting text when there is nothing present in the cell.
