Help page gives incorrect information regarding PageMaker file conversion
Searched InDesign support for "pagemaker file conversion"
The top article (dated March 2017) is titled "Convert QuarkXPress and PageMaker documents to InDesign". Here's the address of this page: https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/using/converting-quarkxpress-pagemaker-documents.html This article is part of the "InDesign CC User Guide." In the right hand column, it says it applies to InDesign CC. The first sentence in the Pagemaker section is "InDesign can convert document and template files from Adobe PageMaker 6.0 and later." Allow Adjacent Bordered Paragraphs to Share Their Border
It's great that Paragraph Borders are now included but it really needs an option to "Connect Border to Adjacent Paragraphs Sharing the Same Style" so that the border runs around multiple paragraphs if needed. I know you can work around this with forced line breaks and empty lines but that jars with me and doesn't give me proper style sheet control.

Bullets and numbering - background or box
When applying a character style in the bullets and numbering tab, all characteristics are applied except for underline/strikethrough options. I noticed that this has been mentioned several times over the years but has not been changed as of CC 12.0.0.81.
If this is impossible to fix, is it then perhaps possible to implement an option to add a background to bullets or numbering, similar to the paragraph rule, which allows for offset, indentation etc.

Let baseline shift be expressed as a percentage of the font size
If I've created a paragraph style, sometimes I add a character style with a different size for specific purposes, usually either a bullet point or a quote mark (to highlight a pullquote, for example).
In practice, this means a bullet point is usually smaller, and the quote mark is larger than the rest of the paragraph text. I alter this size as a horizontal and vertical scale, NOT a specific size in points, as this lets the characters scale in proportion when I alter the type size of the paragraph style.

Adjust Frame Edges From Anypoint ...Not Just Middle of The Edge
I'd like to be able to adjust frame edges from any point on the edge. This would work much like the slice select tool in Photoshop.
Specifically, this would be useful to edit frames where you're zoomed in and the middle of the edge isn't near the content you're trying to crop with the frame.

Stop Giving a Fill Color When Using the Line Tool.
My OCD makes me switch the fill color (when using the line tool) to No Color. It would be great if there was no fill color when using the line tool.

Please allow placed PSD layer blend modes to carry over into InDesign
We build 2-layer Photoshop files for product images. Top layer is product image set to NORMAL blend mode. Bottom layer is shadow of product set to MULTIPLY blend mode. When placed in InDesign the shadow layer does not carry over multiply blending. It knocks out anything under it in InDesign file. Our work around is placing two copies of the PSD file on top of each other. We then have to set the bottom image to Multiply with top layer turned off in Object Layer Options. GPU-Acceleration on Windows
It would be brilliant to have this as an option especially since more and more people are using high DPI/4K displays and the CPU is not capable of allowing for smooth zooming/scrolling/panning in most cases. It's working perfectly fine with Photoshop and rather good with Illustrator so I can't see why this shouldn't be possible with InDesign as well.
On my 4K Dell XPS 15 it's quite a pain to scroll through the document or zoom in and out, laggy as hell although this is a very poweful machine!465 votesThank you all for supporting this feature request.

It would be great if InDesign could have back and forward buttons, similar to those in Visual Studio. I constantly have to scroll up and down for work and it would be great if there was simply a back button that would send me to the spot I was before.

Bring back recent files
I loved seeing recent files every time I hit open because I could find what I was looking for with a glance. Working with graphics, I am very visual, so these thumbnails saved me a lot of time.

Continue footnotes numeration
Add the possibility to continue footnotes numeration over different stories. For example, continue footnotes numeration on different chapters of a book, where each chapter is one independent file.

Retain font styles when copying/pasting text from Photoshop to InDesign.
I prefer to mockup print projects in Photoshop (including text) because I have faster/better control when I want to edit images and previsualize the end result. Once I have my final layout I switch to InDesign and replace the text so it's not bitmapped before printing. It would be great if I could just copy and paste the text from Photoshop to InDesign and it would retain the font style (size, weight, color, tracking, leading, etc) rather than having to make all of those adjustments by hand. Forms!
Please make a form options in Publish.
And a cool thing would be if you could see the "data" of the form under the Analytics tab.
No more sending out pdf forms, that would defiantly be nice :)

play video without controls
Please make it possible to hide the controls of a video clip - so its working in Publish online (right now its only working in PDF exports.
With this we could make amazing publish documents with integrated video backdrops of skys, fires or rain.. With all the NON VIDEO CONTROL goodness.
What im trying to say is video without controls can do magical things (like we could back in the good days of ... Flash.. the good days right... :)

Export selected pages
I very frequently need to export only certain pages to PDF. I know I can type a range or multiple ranges. But it would realy speed up my professional work if I could just select the pages and hit 'Export selected pages...' in the contextual mouse menu.
This feature was present until CS6 by a plugin named HandyTools by DTP Utils.

Add Australian dictionary to Indesign
Please add Australian Dictionary to Indesign. It was once doable but complicated to add the Hunspell dictionary to Indesign with earlier versions but now is impossible as the files that need changes are locked. I'm sure you have thousands of Australian users paying about $900 per year. This is a fix that I would have thought would only take five minutes to do
