An error occurred while saving the comment bb commentedKnowing the number of instances of a search term would be very helpful!
Especially when troubleshooting a file --it helps to know how many times something occurs and decide on a path forward given the prevalence.bb supported this idea · -

InDesign TeamAn error occurred while saving the comment bb commentedHello,
Perhaps the error may also have to do with Acrobat along with InDesign.
When I open Acrobat and check the font properties of a PDF that used OpenType Type 1 fonts, I find that Acrobat incorrectly lists OpenType Type 1 fonts as Type 1. When I place that PDF into an InDesign document, InDesign’s preflight also incorrectly flags the fonts as Type 1. Could it be InDesign's live preflight is reading the PDFs incorrect font properties? We've also found that AI files using OpenType Type 1 fonts will be flagged by InDesign as using Type 1 fonts.
Hoping this preflight bug can be resolved so we can get accurate checks on our files.
An error occurred while saving the comment bb commentedHi,
The issue is that the preflight will flag OpenType Type 1 fonts as Postscript Type 1 fonts when it's reading linked graphics.
I'm happy to send a package, but do you have an email where I can send it? I'm not at liberty to share font files on a forum. Thanks!bb supported this idea ·bb shared this idea · -

An error occurred while saving the comment bb commentedAgreed, bypassing the document fonts folder would be immensely detrimental for those of us who work on packaged files, client files, and older jobs. The solution is simple: an InDesign preference setting where we can set the default behavior to enable/disable Adobe Font activation

As book designers (and we represent over 300 users), we rely on the the ability to make margin adjustments throughout the design process. This bug makes the CC 2019 version feel like an inferior product and a waste of money. Please fix it before moving onto a 2020 version.

https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/fixed-issues.htmlAn error occurred while saving the comment bb commentedAs a book publisher this is HIGHLY concerning. Any reflow caused in the file would mean the book would need to be reset, and then re-read by copyeditors and proofreaders.

As a publisher adhering to the Chicago Manual of Style, it is crucial for us to have the ability to set sections as renumbering points for endnotes. We have to keep our text in a single story, and the current numbering limitation forces us to convert endnotes to static notes, a process that is both inefficient and prone to errors. Implementing a "section" renumbering option would significantly enhance our workflow and allow us to fully utilize the Endnotes feature in InDesign. This addition would be invaluable for maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
