Absolutely necessary feature: Split table rows between text frame columns and threaded text frames. See especially this thread at Adobe inDesign Forums:

how prevent row from breaking into the next page.
    ashimg23377171 Jun 14, 2018
    https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2502409

FWIW: If the developers ever decide to implement footnotes with tables, breaking a row would come handy as well. Imagine a table with a row you can see from the first post of the linked thread plus footnotes where the footnote text should be on the same page AND you have a lot of footnotes and a lot of footnote texts you could get into a situation where you create permanent overflow of the story!

One could prevent this hypothetic situation by allowing to split a row between text columns and text frames.

    Best,
    Uwe

    Hi Ulrich,
did you check the Options for Numbering of your book file?

    German:
    Seitennummerierungsoptionen für Buch

    Optionen > Seitenabfolge

    [x] Von vorherigem Dokument fortfahren
[ ] Auf nächster ungerader Seite fortfahren
[ ] Auf nächster gerader Seite fortfahren

    [ ] Leere Seite einfügen

[x] Seitenzahlen und Abschnittsnummerierung automatisch aktualisieren

It could be, that the last option in this list is unchecked.

    Hi,
there is another workaround if you like to move text inside a document.
    Do not cut-paste or copy-paste.

    Instead:
Move texts around by dragging it to a different insertion point.

To be able to do that use a Story Editor Window where you can select text and drag it to a different place.
Also to a different text insertion point in the Layout Window!

Or enable this feature in Layout View with:

Preferences > Type > Drag and Drop Text Editing

[ x ] Enable In Layout View ( not enabled by default )
[ x ] Enable in Story Editor ( this is option is set by default )

    Hi Erin,
if an InDesign document is opened inside a Dropbox folder you are sharing with someone else an *.idlk file is generated. Just like in every other folder on your machine.

Do you see that the *.idlk file is not synched with Dropbox?
Or if it is synched, will the *.idlk file be ignored by InDesign running with someone you collaborate with?

Usually a correspondent *.idlk file will tell InDesign that a specific document is already open and cannot be opened from another instance of InDesign.

    Hi Matthew,
at least for me and some others this is a known bug we already see in earlier versions of InDesign. I have some samples with e.g. CS6 8.1.0.

See this discussion in German at hilfdirselbst.ch where Martin Fischer is seeing the issue:

    Hi Abhinav,

    Hi Aman,

I can confirm the issue. Just tested.
If the spread is rotated the image will be placed somewhere else if you do not place it on the first spread of a document! That will happen when you click the place gun to unload it or if you drag out a rectangle with it.

Also note that setting the zero point anew with dragging out the cross-hairs on rotated spreads is broken ( EPV issue since day one when rotating spread views were introduced ).

I also see a big difference to CC 2018.1 not only where the image is placed, but how it is rotated when it is placed. With CC 2018.1 it is placed so that the rotation of the view has no impact. With InDesign CC 2019 rotation of the view will also dictate rotation of the image while placing. And that's perhaps a good thing. Make it a preference one can turn on or off so that the user can decide if the image is placed and rotated with the rotated view or not.

    Regards,
    Uwe Laubender

jrm21 Feb 13, 2019 (in response to Laubender)

Some test documents by Joe are available here:
    https://www.dropbox.com/sh/auxno676i10s95l/AABn1E6_OdU0UVWESiooRl3ma?dl=0

I tested the two EPS files on Windows 10 with InDesign CC 2019 and other versions and cannot see an issue.
Also with InDesign CC 2018.1 and an early prerelease version of InDesign CC 2019 14.0.0.76 on OS X 10.11.6: No issue. So I assume a bug with the latest version of InDesign CC 2019 14.0.1.209 in conjuncton perhaps with OS X 10.14 Mojave…
