1. 'Text style' (Character/Paragraph) Drop Down Visual Bug

   Adobe InDesign 19.4, Apple M3 Max, Sonoma 14.4 and 14.5 (at least).

   'Text Style' drop downs for character and paragraph show persistent white box, without any of the styles showing. White box blocks UI actions below.

   Occurs randomly, resolves randomly. Restart not guaranteed to fix the issue.

   Expected result: The drop down displays the relevant text styles...
   Actual result: Empty white box...

2. Hide Frame Edges

   I'm working on Windows 11. I'm not sure what the InDesign version is but I just bought it two days ago.

   Everything has been smooth so far but when I needed to hide the Frame Edges I met this issue. From what I found out there are two options: View > Extras > Hide Frame Edges or simply Ctrl + H

   Neither case worked.

3. Show Import Options no longer remains enabled

   The “Show Import Options” checkbox does not remain enabled in the “Place” dialog. In some cases, it stays checked for one or two items, but when importing more than that, the option is automatically deselected.

   Previously, this setting remained enabled. While this may appear to be a minor issue, it causes significant inconvenience and seriously disrupts the workflow.

4. links not clickable on publish online link

   When I publish my document online, Hyperlinks are not clickable. When the document is viewed as a PDF, links ARE clickable. All text is ungrouped and on the top layer. All hyperlinks are properly embedded (again, they work in the PDF and this is purely an issue with the Publish Online link). Running the latest Indesign 20.2 on Mac Sonoma 14.7

5. Printing Documents with VFs directly from InDesign is broken, need to export to PDF first

   Hello support team!
   We at Dalton Maag noticed that we couldn't print documents containing variable fonts directly from InDesign 16.3 on macOS Big Sur. Export to a PostScript file produces a broken file. The document needs to be exported to PDF first. We found this issue on our client font but managed to reproduce it with Source Serif VF from https://github.com/adobe-fonts/source-serif/releases/tag/4.004R.

   I sent the following files to Josh Hadley at Adobe:

   • A ZIP containing test documents, a broken exported PostScript file and a correctly exported PDF file
   • An AVI showing how we tested
   • A JPG showing what comes out of the printer

   We have found one "fix" or "workaround" for this: go into the print settings, "Graphics", and select font subsetting. maybe InDesign should do that by default.

6. Random De-selection

   I've found this to be an issue ever since I first started using indesign 3 years ago. Sometimes when shift selecting objects, other random objects that you have already selected will unselect themselves. For example, I am selecting 4 random objects on my spread, I select 1, then 2, then 3, then 4, and object 2 unselects itself when I selected object 4

7. Based on paragraph styles have issues when created by script

   When creating styles via a script, styles that are based on other styles are not overwriting style attributes properly. i.e.:
   p - font: Arial, size: 10.5, leading: 13, indent 8
   p-first: based-on, p, indent 0
   The indent may or may not actually be set to 0 if those two styles are created by a script. If I fix the indent manually in InDesign, any of the styles that are based off of p-first would update properly.

   Summary of the Issue
   The CC Libraries panel flickers continuously when InDesign 2026 (26.3.1) is used on a MacBook Pro M4 connected to an external display. The flicker is limited to the panel UI itself and does not affect other panels or the document area.
   The flickering completely stops under two conditions:

   When the CC Libraries panel is moved to the MacBook’s built‑in display.

   This mirrors known InDesign UI bugs where panel or submenu rendering breaks only on external monitors. [community.adobe.com]

   When the user backs out of or exits the specific Library being viewed inside the CC Libraries panel.

   External monitors have been associated with flicker and UI redraw failures in InDesign, often independent of document content. [community.adobe.com]

   The issue persists across multiple documents, including brand-new ones, indicating this is panel-level behavior, not file corruption.

   Steps to Reproduce

   Open Adobe InDesign 2026 (26.3.1) on macOS Tahoe 26.3.1.
   Connect an external display to the MacBook Pro M4.
   Open the CC Libraries panel.
   Navigate into an existing Library containing assets.
   View the panel on the external monitor.

   Observed Behavior

   The bottom portion (or the entire contents) of the CC Libraries panel flickers repeatedly.
   The flicker occurs even when InDesign is idle (not interacting with the panel).
   The flicker continues across all open documents and persists after restarts.

   Expected Behavior

   The CC Libraries panel should render normally on all attached displays without flickering or redraw failures.

   Workarounds Found

   Collapsing the CC Libraries panel stops the flickering immediately.

   Dragging the panel onto the MacBook’s built-in display stops the flicker completely.

   This behavior is similar to past InDesign external‑monitor flicker issues documented by Adobe. [community.adobe.com]

   Backing out of the active Library being viewed also stops the flicker.

   These workarounds confirm the issue is tied to panel content rendering + external monitor GPU/UI pipeline, consistent with known external‑monitor flickering behaviors previously reported in InDesign. [community.adobe.com]

   Additional Notes

   GPU Performance toggling (on/off) does not resolve the issue, though enabling GPU was suggested as a workaround for similar InDesign flicker behaviors in older versions. [indesign.u...rvoice.com]
   The problem does not appear related to rulers or overprint preview (prior known flicker triggers).
   Appears to be a new UI repaint issue introduced in the 2026 build.

11. InDesign _ images in viewport changes scale, even if loacked

    I have an seem to be running into this issue on multiple occasions. I lock the viewport, save file/close the InDesign file.
    When I go to open the file again, the scale of the image in the locked viewport is changed, and goes outside the viewport. I am forced to rescale the images again. Is this a bug? How can I prevent this from happening?

12. Minor issues under 20.0.X

    Minor issues with Indesign 20.0
    Problems I am experiencing are linking two text frames, when clicking on a frame to select, it shifts position, it is very difficult to change the colors via the color swatches tab, read as if I do not want to select them, after repeated clicking it sometimes works. .
    When entering a new document, entering dimensions, they jump back before I have been able to confirm and everything has to be entered again, etc...
    Update to 20.0.1 does not help everything under iOS 15.1.1 on MacBook Pro, but also on 14.X on iMac, same problems with Indesign 20.0.1

13. InDesign 20.1 Save & SaveAs opens files in last used folder, not containing folder

    Sonoma 14.4 & Apple M3 Max Chip - Whenever I work in files and try to save or SaveAs, it'll open in the last used folder in my computer. I have the manually find the folder I'm working from every time. This has been an issue since upgrading to this machine. I have a lot of weird bugs on this machine w/ Adobe Products...

14. Selecting text is offset slightly so you select the wrong characters

    Selecting text is sometimes really difficult as where you click is slightly off from what InDesign thinks you're clicking on. That means that when you highlight a word, it often misses the first character that you're trying to select. You then have to move the cursor slightly over another character for it to highlight it.

    It's really frustrating as it doesn't seem to happen in all documents. The ones I'm having issues with at the moment use the customer's own font but I've been using that same font for about 5 years with no issues until now.

    I'm using InDesign 14.0.2 and Mac OS 10.14.5

15. Import PDF Comments - New Bugs identified - Part 3

    (1) [CRITICAL ERROR] When any insertion is happening at the end of paragraph, InDesign is swapping the last character after the new insertion

    (2) When any PDF comments appeared within the tinted panel, it's not replacing properly

17. InDesign 2020 freezes when placing articles with endnotes (big file)

    Working with a approximately 500 paged book, 30 articles with endnotes.

    Now with 20 articles / 300 pages done, InDesign 2020 freezes when placing new articles.

    Please, please, please: fix the issue with a possibility to keep all endnotes in a separate ID-file (linking endnotes to other ID-files)! Because of this, now forced to have the whole, massive book in one ID-file.

    To identify the cause of this issue, we had started our investigation with the aim to resolve it. You might have also received email from us seeking more details to help in our investigation.

    We’ve concluded our investigation and came up with the finding : Either the issue is fixed in the latest release of InDesign or the issue was intermittent in nature at the time of its reporting and is not reproducible now.

    We recommend you to upgrade to the latest version of InDesign 2020 (if you’re not already on it). It contains a lot of stability fixes.

18. InDesign Crashes When Placing, Relinking, or Modifying Object Layer Options

    I've been using this process for years with placing specific Layer Comps from Photoshop in InDesign, but lately it's been crashing when Placing, Relinking, or modifying Object Layer Options.

    I don't know if this is a computer issue or InDesign bug. I'm running Windows 11 Enterprise, 32GB 8400 MT/s RAM, Core Ultra 7 265H, and 8GB RTX Pro 2000 Blackwell.

19. InDesign 18.1 x64 (Windows) - Problem with font Latino URW Regular Italic

    InDesign 18.1 x64 (Windows) - Downloaded Adobe Latino URW fonts from Adobe fonts site - The Regular Italic shows up as Italic in Windows fonts and Word, the others are OK. When placing Word document into InDesign, get missing font because InDesign does not recognize Latino URW Italic, it wants Latino URW Regular Italic. It is a font naming issue. After removing font, restarting computer, and reloading, problem persists.

20. InDesign 2024 Can't Scroll

    I was forced to download the newest InDesign software by creative cloud and since doing so am unable to use my mousepad or mouse to scroll through documents. I have to use the side and bottom slider and thats the only way it will work. I have seen other students having the same issue, this makes the program way less efficient and time consumptive to use.
