InDesign import from Microsoft Word does not pick up all formatting

Bottom toolbar/scroll bar dissapears when in fullscreen mode
At first i thought it was my monitors, but it also does it when I have InDesign open on my laptop. I'm running the latest Microsoft update, and when I select Fullscreen on the InDesign window, the bottom bar disappears, so I'm unable to use the bottom scrollbar. It only re-appears when i minimize the window

PDF Comment Loading in the Master Page
We have recently updated to 2020 version. In the previous version when I load PDF comments in InDesign they appear in the pages where they are suppose to appear. Now, in the 2020 version, they appear in the Master Page. Why is it like this?
Also may I suggest when copying text in the PDF Comments panel that the "Command+C" be activated as this is more instinctively than clicking the "Copy" button from the panel.
8 votesFix for this issue is now available in the latest update of InDesign 2020 – that is, InDesign 15.0.1
In the Creative Cloud Desktop application, click on the Updates section on the left. You should be able to see the Update available for InDesign. Please update your InDesign application to this version to try out the fix.

OpenType mark positioning messed up when using bidi text with Thaana font
The font uses ccmp feature to build dotted glyph from base glyphs.
When a LTR character comes into question, these glyphs are rendered incorrectly.

Keine Darstellung der Seite (Seite verschwindet beim Text!!!!)
Indesign 18.5 und 19.0 Bei der Texteingabe verschwindet die ganze Grafik (Seite) Auch beim verschieben vom Nullpunkt verschwindet die ganze Seite.
Das alles ist unmöglich, ich kann mit diesen Versionen nicht arbeiten.
Indesign 17.4.2 funktioniert.

When using a Text Variable (Running Header ‹Paragraph Style›) and applying it to fully diacritized Arabic text, the first letter of the heading does not appear in the result. This issue arises when exporting to PDF.
open indesign and Type the fully diacritized Arabic text, Assign paragraph sytle, go to Text variable - Define - New - Running Header «Paragraph Style» - Assign.
The text is expected to display correctly without errors; however, contrary to this, the first letter of the fully diacritized text does not appear.…2 votes -
Conditional texts applied to wrong parts when exported to an idml

Export an Indesign file with conditional text settings as an idml file and open the idml file in the InDesign application.Expected result
Conditional text settings are applied to the same paragraphs and texts as the InDesign file from which the idml was exported.Actual result
Conditional text settings are applied to unexpected paragraphs and texts! Seems like this only happens when one or more of the condition is displayed and does not happens when all the conditions are hidden...

Text wrap - select subject - cancelling progress causes crash
Clicking an image/object, choosing wrap around object shape and then type: Select subject will bring up the progress bar whilst it thinks about it. If you choose to cancel the progress then indesign crashes without an error code or crash dialogue.
Have tried on 2024/2025 windows 10 and 11 and bug persists.

Keyboard shortcuts to change case not working on Windows
Keyboard shortcuts to change case of lines of text is no longer working. Apart from Alt-T to get up the text menu, I'm now having to use the mouse to select the further options to change to Title case. The sequence Alt-T-E-T, no longer works. As I frequently have many entries which need unifying each time I use it, this once useful feature is sorely missing. Please can you fix it Adobe?

I've had to renter my pasword and code from text 6x in the last 2 1/2 hours. How is anybody supposed to get any work done when updating apps
Why is updating apps such a pain in the butt!!!!
Had to log into a different ID to get past supposed firewall issues and then had to keep using password and code sent to text on my phone every time I opened an app.

Good morning, I updated InDesign to version 21 and I'm having problems with the tab stops on both PCs. In the tab settings, if I set three tab stops, for example, the first at 10 cm, the second at 20 cm, and the third at 30 cm, if I move the first one, the other two disappear.
With the beta version, there were no problems. I tried resetting the preferences, but nothing. A technician connected and checked the problem. [ID-4272869] InDesign adds Blank space to top during PNG export for converted documents
I booted up 2026 (version 21.0) and opened a file that I was working on literally yesterday. I have a text box over a solid fill background shape. When I exported them both together yesterday, it worked as expected. Today, it exports with an obnoxious blank space (or filled space if I uncheck "Transparent Background") at the top.
Absolutely nothing changed with the file, it's just happening in 2026 and not in 2025. Comparison attached.
Workaround: Export the document to IDML

Basically all the diacritics are messed up, regardless of font used. The PDF looks fine but the text if copied from the PdF is garbled.

Inline vector graphics pixelate while typing in high quality display performance mode
InDesign 14.0.2 on Windows 10
1) Set display performance to high quality
2) Paste an EPS or PDF into a text frame as an inline graphic. It should render crisply as you'd expect in high quality mode..
3) Start typing in the text frame that contains the inline graphic. The inline graphic pixelates.
4) Click out of the text frame or stop typing for ~10 seconds. The graphic returns to its unpixelated, high-quality state.Context: we are upgrading 100 users from InDesign 2014 to InDesign 2019. This worked perfectly well without any pixelation or lag in InDesign 2014,…

Bug: When mapping styles to tags and overriding all parent page items text boxes resize on M1 macbook pro
This bug only happens on my M1 Max MacBook pro. I have InDesign (17.2.1) fully updated to the latest version and my MacBook is also fully updated to the latest version. I have had this issue on previous versions since having the M1 mac. This also happens when overriding all parent page items.
When I map styles to tags it resizes some of the text boxes. I have an iMac pro that I have tested this on and it doesn't happen. I have also had other people open it on various apple computers and it isn't an issue.

PAC 2021 Error for InDesign generated PDF : Object reference not set to an instance of an object
I am still getting Object reference not set to an instance of an object when testing pdf files in PAC 21. This error apparently relates to 'PDF Export using ZIP compression for images shows an “Insufficient data for an image” error on opening in Acrobat.
This was supposed to be fixed in ID 18.5 but its now happening with every PDF I check for accessibility, even a single page with simple text.
Working for local government and its imperative our PDF files exported from ID are fully accessible and tested. Seek an urgent fix.

Tables with slanted header row
When tables have long names for column headers, a good design solution is to ***** the header cells and their text, from 20-70 degrees.
The table still needs to be live, editable, and adjustable (both the cells AND text) so that when needed, the headers can be changed from 60 degrees to 45 degrees.
And when exported to PDF and EPUB, it needs to have the required accessibility tag structure:
