1. Can't change page after selecting an XML node, until setting focus to the main page area

   Summary: After selecting a node in the XML tree, double-clicking any of the page thumbnails or master page thumbnails has no effect. The page won't change until I click on the main page area.
   Steps to reproduce (in Windows):
   1. With a document open in Indesign CC, open the XML Structure pane.
   2. Double click on any of the page thumnails in the "Pages" palette.
   Expected result: I exepct the page to load, that I double clicked.
   Actual result: Nothing happens.

2. Persistent startup screen

   When opening old ID documents frequently the startup screen hangs on the main screen. This happens specially after missing images, plug-ins an fonts warnings. Have to quit and relaunch ID...

3. AGLFN: ZWJ, ZWNJ, ZWS in PDF

   Indesign is not written ZWJ (U+200D), ZWNJ (U+200C), ZWS (U+200B) with its glyph name uni200D, uni200C, uni200B respectively.

   This is not helping in copying the text with ZWJ (U+200D), ZWNJ (U+200C), ZWS (U+200B) from PDF.

   These non-printing characters are copied has "space" instead.

   These non-printing characters in Indic scripts are part of text. With and without these characters, text can changes its meaning.

   Please support these characters with AGLFN glyph names in fonts in Indesign, PDF export feature.

4. Surface Pro 4 And Gestures

   I have a new Surface Pro 4. When using Adobe applications, gestures on the touch pad (for example pinching or scrolling) either don't work or are really bugy with little control. I was told by Adobe that this is due to the detachable keyboard on the Surface Pro.

5. Multiple Bugs in CC17

   Display issue 1
   Random lines appeared on my screen. Baseline grid and guides were hidden as I was in Preview Mode, no explanation for these lines.

   Display issue 2
   Text doesn’t display correctly when I apply a different Paragraph Style Sheet. (It displays the text in both the original Paragraph Style and new paragraph style on top of one another, even though the new Paragraph Style is selected). I needed to deselect and reselect another paragraph of text to rectify the issue.

   Dialogue box issues
   Both videos show how I’m unable to select from the drop down menu in InDesign. In the first video I want to select the ‘Photoshop Path’ from the Clipping Path dialogue box, but am unable to do so.
   The second video show how I want to create a PDF (via File/Export) but I cannot change the PDF settings from the drop down menu.
   Needed to quit the program and restart to rectify the problem.

7. The lists of entries for a cross reference is not ordered

   Some panels with items (e.g. links) can be ordered by clicking the column header. Others cannot. Among these are the lists of references to choose from when inserting a cross-reference. These seem to be totally unordered. As a result, it is a pain to look for the right one (e.g. choose from a few hundred in a large document). I consider this a bug because other panels do have this ordering

8. Colour picker turns everything to blank with strokes, applies stroke

   Colour picker is broken. Everything is checked, but when I use it, it turns the object picked from into blank with black stroke. When applied, it adds a black stroke. This is true of text, objects, and links. Deleting local settings changed nothing.

9. Profiles equal to the Output-Intend get lost on PDF-Export

   When exporting a PDF all profiles equal to the Output-Intend (which in my case is the Document-Colorspace PSO Coated V3) get lost when exporting.

   I have created a small test-file with an PSO Coated V3 Image and an ISO Coated V2 Image.

   When Exporting as PDF X4 with Output-Intend Set to PSO Coated V3 the Image that IS PSO Coated V3 looses its profile and the same for the ISO Coated V2 when the Output-Intend is set to that.

   This is horrible for Colormanagement. I've been in contact with "Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG" and they suggested to report this to Adobe as a bug.

   They way it is you can not differenciate between images that don't have a profile and images that already have the correct profile. As a result all images get converted again in prepress - even those that already are in the correct profile.

10. Missing color in PDF from InDesign

    I have an InDesign file with a placed PSD file in it, which contains two spot colors. When I save the file as a PDF out of InDesign, only one of the two spot channels is visible.

    I'm running the latest versions of InDesign, Photoshop, and Acrobat. To reproduce, open the attached InDesign file and save as a PDF. The resulting PDF should show a yellow and blue spot, but only the blue is visible. (The PDF generated during packaging also exhibits the problem.)

11. nDesign 21.6 freezes for 5 seconds when placing images ONLY when offline on macOS

    A severe 4-to-5 second application hang/freeze occurs every time a user attempts to place an image file while the Mac is disconnected from the internet. If the Mac is online, the lag disappears completely. This is a regression bug introduced in recent 21.x builds.Steps to Reproduce:Open Adobe InDesign v21.6 on macOS.Disconnect the computer from the internet (turn off Wi-Fi and unplug ethernet).Create a new, blank document.Press Cmd + D to place any standard image file (e.g., JPEG, PNG) stored on the local hard drive.Click on the document layout to place the graphic asset.

    Expected Result:The image should place instantly onto the layout canvas without hesitation.

    Actual Result:InDesign freezes entirely, displaying a spinning wait cursor or locking up the mouse pointer for roughly 4 to 5 seconds before the image finally drops onto the page.Crucial Diagnostic Variables (Verified):Network Status: The bug only triggers when the Mac is offline. If the computer is connected to the internet, images place instantly without any lag.Regression: Rolling back three versions prior entirely fixes the problem. The issue does not exist in older builds, pointing directly to a telemetry, asset verification, or cloud-feature timeout loop introduced in recent 21.x code.

    When I open this file in InDesign 2026, the document opens, but the text and graphics are not visible on several pages.

    I don’t know when exactly this happened. I didn’t notice any crash, error message, or problem while saving the file.

    What I have tried:

    • Switched between GPU and CPU Preview — no change.
    • Changed the display settings — no change.
    • Opened the file in InDesign 2025. After conversion, some of the text and graphics become visible, but a lot of the content is still missing.

    I still have the original INDD file and have not overwritten it.

13. Open PDF in InDesign not properly working when a vector image is present (.ai or .eps)

    When we export a PDF from InDesign with the box "Preserve InDesign Editing Capabilities" checked, if we open the resulting PDF in InDesign, it is perfect, styles are preserved, guidelines, tables, Layers, Parent Pages... All is ok. (just as if a idml was included in the PDF)

    However, as soon as we include a .ai or .eps anywhere in the InDesign file, the exported PDF can no longer be imported back in InDesign with all format. Styles are lost or are named "Paragraph1", "Paragraph2", no more guidelines, no more Parent Pages, tables are not like before...

    We're trying again every time a new version of InDesign is out. This morning, it was InDesign 21.6 (Windows). Still the same problem.

14. split layout view doesn't work anymore

    This morning, InDesign was updated (version 21.6), and the split layout view no longer works—or rather, it works only partially: the open document remains visible only on the left side, while the right side of the window is blank. I checked the zoom and page alignment, but nothing is visible.
    I’m working on Windows 11. I have already tried the basic troubleshooting steps, including deleting the cache and preferences. I even uninstalled and reinstalled InDesign, but the issue still persists.

16. Remove All AI (Artificial Intelligence) from Programs

    To remove all AI features whether totally or at the very least the ability to manually turn off these settings. AI is a threat to everyone who pays for your services and it is a slap in the face you are forcing it upon us. True creativity is human and your attempts to recreate are an abomination.

    InDesign freezes when clicking a menu item before it becomes highlighted

    I have encountered a reproducible UI bug in the latest version of Adobe InDesign on macOS Sequoia.

    The issue occurs when using the application menus:

    1. Open a menu (for example Layout).
    2. Move the mouse to a menu item, but click very quickly, before the item has had time to become highlighted/active.
    3. If the click lands in the area of the menu item while it is still not highlighted, InDesign may immediately become completely unresponsive.
    4. The application cannot be interacted with anymore and has to be force-quit (killall InDesign / Force Quit).

    The problem is not document-specific and can be reproduced with a new, empty document.

    It seems to be related to the menu's mouse hit-testing or hover/highlight state: essentially, clicking a menu item faster than the UI can update its highlighted state can cause the entire application to freeze.

    This is particularly easy to trigger for users who work quickly and are accustomed to clicking menu items immediately after opening a menu.

    Keyboard shortcuts work normally, so I currently avoid using the menus whenever possible.

    Expected behavior:
    If the user clicks a menu item before its visual highlight has updated, InDesign should either activate the item normally or simply ignore the click. It should not freeze the entire application.

    Actual behavior:
    InDesign becomes completely unresponsive and requires a force quit.

18. Undo completely greyed out and Command-Z will not work

    As described^ even force quit the application and opened holding command+option+control+shift. This only allowed me to undo once before greying out the Undo button under Edit and failing to do anything when I clicked Command-Z. Is this part of the new software update?

    1. RESUMEN DEL PROBLEMA (SUMMARY)

    Existe un fallo grave en el motor de impresión directa (Direct Print Engine) de Adobe InDesign al procesar marcos de texto multicolumna con la opción "Expandir notas al pie entre columnas" (Span Footnotes Across Columns) activada.

    Al enviar el documento directamente a una impresora física o un controlador de impresión digital desde la interfaz de InDesign, el sistema no renderiza ni imprime la sección de la nota al pie que se extiende hacia las columnas de la derecha, omitiendo todo el texto que sobrepasa el ancho de la primera columna (columna izquierda). El diseño se visualiza de forma impecable en la pantalla de edición, pero la salida física resulta defectuosa e incompleta.

    El error se circunscribe exclusivamente al flujo de impresión directa; se ha comprobado que el renderizado es correcto si el documento se exporta previamente como un archivo cerrado en formato estándar Adobe PDF (PDF/X-4).

    2. DETALLES DEL ENTORNO DE PRUEBAS (ENVIRONMENT)

    • Software: Adobe InDesign (Versiones con soporte nativo para expansión de notas en marcos multicolumna).
    • Configuración del documento: Maquetación literaria de alta densidad (estilo clásico/académico) dispuesta a dos columnas.
    • Configuración de notas: Menú Texto > Opciones de nota al pie de página del documento > Diseño, con la casilla "Expandir notas al pie entre columnas" habilitada de forma global.
    • Comportamiento en pantalla: Corrección absoluta. El flujo de las notas rompe las dos columnas y cruza la página de lado a lado en la vista normal y en el modo de previsualización.

    3. PASOS PARA REPRODUCIR EL ERROR (STEPS TO REPRODUCE)

    1. Crear un documento en InDesign y configurar un marco de texto maestro con dos o más columnas.

Todo el texto subsiguiente de la nota que fluye hacia el espacio de la columna derecha se corta por completo y desaparece de la impresión, dejando un espacio en blanco y arruinando la maquetación.

    5. DIAGNÓSTICO TÉCNICO PRELIMINAR

    El origen del problema radica en una falta de comunicación entre el gestor de composición de pantalla de InDesign y su intérprete de comandos de impresión (Print Spooler / controlador PostScript/PCL interno).

    Cuando la opción "Expandir notas al pie" está activa, InDesign aplica un cálculo dinámico de coordenadas en pantalla para anular el límite de la columna. Sin embargo, al enviar los datos brutos a la cola de impresión directa, el programa calcula el área de recorte (Bounding Box) de la nota basándose erróneamente en el ancho de origen de la columna donde se inserta el superíndice (la primera columna), ignorando la instrucción de expansión horizontal.

    Este fallo supone un perjuicio importante para el flujo de trabajo editorial y de preimpresión, forzando pasos adicionales obligatorios para verificar pruebas físicas elementales.
