1. Japanese paragraph composer adds space after

   Issue: After changing paragraph composer to Japanese Paragraph Composer, text shows space after larger than setting. Space-after persists when set to 0 (zero).

2. ?bug re bulleted lists in v18

   I have just opened an InDesign document I created in Aug 2022. I am now using InDesign v18.1 x42. It converted the document from Shivani.indd to Shivani.indd[converted], as I see it does when you open documents created in previous versions.

   However, all my bulleted lists are no longer bulleted lists, they are just text, with the bullet symbol and a single space at the start of each line. When I select the text the bulleted list icon in “Bullets and Numbering” is no longer highlighted. But more of a problem is that clicking on “options” in “Bullets and Numbering” brings up the options dialogue but everything in the box is greyed out and cannot be selected.

   Is this a known issue? A feature? A bug or unintended consequence?

   (I am using Windows 10)

4. Running very slow

   InDesign CC 2023: no matter what settings (I.e. how many times I change the display performance to fast or turn off a lot of features) there is still a 5-7 second delay on every single keystroke, every cursor movement, every selection, etc. etc. That is, if it doesn't just freeze altogether. My document is only 21 pages with minimal text and the images shouldn't be displayed at full resolution anyway, so there's no reason it should be this laggy. No other adobe program has this problem for me at the moment. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the program, that didn't work. I tried to clear the cache, but the keyboard shortcut didn't do anything. No matter what I do it doesn't even get faster. It's genuinely unusable at this point.

5. Grey outlines around pictures in Publish Online

   About 1/7 of every picture has grey lines partially surrounding it, but only when I publish online. Not when I export as PDF. There's plenty of image available beyond the edges of the image box, so I don't know why it does this.

6. table of contents not displaying items in tables with headers/footers

   The Layout/TOC feature does not include items in tables (that have headers/footers). If a table has a header/footer, the TOC just skips over the item, and goes onto the next one. When creating the TOC, it asks me if I would like to "include items in overset text?". There is never any overset text in the document, so when I click NO, the TOC skips over the table items. If I click YES, the items in the table get repeated over and over again in the TOC.

7. Screen flickers when I move an item

   When I want to move something , for example a text frame, my screen flickers. This is very annoying and i'm afraid if i move items too much, Indesign will crash. What can I do to fix this?

8. Font display issue with certain fonts in images from clipboard (18.1 x64)

   We use a charting service called Macrobond, and copy images from that software to insert in InDesign. The following buggy behavior is observed:

   When using certain fonts in the chart, the pasted image in InDesign displays those fonts in miniscule sizes. That does not happen with other fonts fonts.

   I suspect the issue stems from different ways in which InDesign handles the various fonts based on whether they are included or third-party (or perhaps depending if they are installed locally on the PC or is fetched from the Adobe library).

   In this example the first image shows a problematic chart using Arial Regular and Arial Bold Italic.

   The second image shows the chart using variations on the Myriad Pro font installed manually on the PC. Both charts were inserted into InDesign using the same method: copying the chart in Macrobond and pasting it into InDesign.

   Similar errors are exhibited when using Adobe Acrobat to generate PDFs in PowerPoint based on those same types of images with the same problematic fonts, so is not isolated to InDesign.

9. ScirptUI: in events `app.activate();` doesn’t work on Mac

   Steps to reproduce the issues
   * Build a ScriptUI palette with a button (or any other element).
   * Give the button a .onClick event with a app.activate; to give the programm’s focus back to InDesign.
   * Try to perform an InDesign shortcut (such as "command f" to show the built-in find dialog or any other you prefer).

   Expected result
   The focus of the programm should be given back to InDesign and the called action in InDesign should be performed (such as showing the find dialog).

   Actual result
   The focus remains on the ScriptUI palette and nothing happens.

10. 'Delete Empty Pages' in InDesign preferences does not recognize content on parent page

    When 'Delete Empty Pages' in InDesign is checked within preferences (found in the 'Type' tab) it does not recognize content on a parent page. Personally, I think if there is type on a parent and it is applied to a page(s), the page(s) should not be considered empty and automatically deleted.

11. Margins outside page bounds

    In the new New Document setup dialog it is possible to set margins larger than the page dimensions which results in Margins outside the page area. This does not happen with the legacy dialog.

12. Broken endnote tagging

    When you use real endnotes in InDesign and export as a tagged PDF, the resulting tag tree is not generated properly.
    This behavior can be reproduced for at least for InDesign 16, 17, 18.

    Result now:

    Minium correct result:

    In addition: The placement attribute for <Note> should be "Block".

    This can only be fixed with a lot of work in the PDF.

13. M1 Mac Graphic Problems Continue

    As others have mentioned InDesign graphic performance on M1 Macs is unacceptable. This was marked as "fixed" but it continues with macOS Ventura 13.0.1 and InDesign 18. For example, the screen does not always redraw when scrolling or jumping to a different page until you move your pointer. Switching to a different program and then back to InDesign also fixes the problem for a while. It doesn't matter whether GPU Performance is on or off. This is the most fundamental functionality. Please figure it out and fix it once and for all.

15. Disappearing caption text

    When adding text to an existing caption in Adobe InDesign 2023, the entire caption disappears. To solve, I can widen the caption box, which our client's formatting specs do not allow, or adjust the text frame options to ignore text wrap, which distorts the horizontal scale of the text. How can I add text to captions without having to change my caption text box's layout?

16. Adobe PDR printer settings option missing

    Hello dear Adobe team,
    my problem is as following: When printing Booklet in my custom settings I am missing Adobe PDF printer option. I cant even install Adobe printer from control panel as suggested here: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/add-pdf-printer-manually.html because there is no Adobe PDF option in "Use existing port" option. Could you please help me with this? I am also adding a few screenshots of the problem.

17. Display issue

    Lines and slightly shifted objects. When I scroll up and down theses lines disappear and reappear elsewhere (=> screenshots 2 and 2B). Since the update to CC 2023, these display errors only appear in Indesign, not in other programs.

18. Pdf comments - Sticky notes freeze file

    INDD 18.0 PDF comments has something chronically slow going on with the sticky notes. We have done some testing here and also confirmed by other in the forums https://community.adobe.com/t5/indesign-discussions/pdf-comments-sticky-notes-makes-document-extremly-slow/m-p/13368359#M503963

    If you delete the sticky notes the file will work as expected. But if you have 1 sticky note on a page, any editing on that page is painfully slow!

    WORKAROUND - action sticky notes outside of INDD then delete them and import the file. Not ideal but manageable until Adobe can fix this one.

20. Code of QR codes bugged?

    I use ID 2023 on a mac. I want to generate a vCard and have to use v3.0 because of some problems with special characters, that are not shown correctly with 2.1 on apple devices.

    So i found a workaround, where someone copied the vCard code as plain text into the generator from ID instead of using the built in vCard function. But the scanned code can't be recognized as vCard with several apps on Android. External QR generators produce working QR-codes with the same input. But on iPhone devices both codes work.

    I decoded two files at https://zxing.org/w/decode. One QR-code works, the other one (generated by ID) has the same input but no parsed result. So is there a way to fix this? Generating images and put them into ID is not so smart, i would like to use the built in function.

    This also doesn't work if i use v2.1 code like in this example.
