   InDesign has started supporting SEA languages since ID 2020. Adobe WR composer needs to be selected to compose in SEA languages correctly. Since Thai is a SEA language, please use Adobe WR composer for the correct composition of the text.

3. InDesign 2021 (InDesign 16.0) locked when left unattended for an hour.

   This was installed for me overnight, and appeared to be running as expected. When I left my computer running for an hour while I ate lunch I came back to find the application locked. When I tried to force it to quit the entire machine locked, and I was required to force it to shut down and restart.

4. indesign for mac pauses

   InDesign CC 15.1.2 with a VPN connection to a server continually gives me the spinning beach ball whenever I do the simplest thing, even when the document itself is on the desktop (but has to be connected to images on the server). It's on a Macbook Pro 15,1, running Catalina with 32GB ram, 2.6Ghz 6-Core Intel Core i7. It's been happening since the last 2 updates.

5. type in circle

   Hi, did the feature to put text in a shape in InDesign 2020 go away or is this a bug? I used to be able to draw a circle, select the type tool and click on the circle and add type to the shape. This method doesn't work in either the 2020 or 2019 versions of ID, but it does work as usual in Illustrator 2020. Thanks so much for your help.

7. Adobe InDesign 2020 - All text in my Indesign file that contains hyperlinks disappear

   (cont.) even though the hyperlinks panel show the links themselves the text is gone and I can't get it back. Hours of work is gone.

   I first started seeing the text is pushed together in the epubs I would export, especially moreso on the words with hyperlinks. After fixing a few things I export another epub and it is completely gone and it is also gone in the indd and idml files.

8. Disable object stroke effects is not working

   I'm trying to disable strokes inner and outerglows in a specific object style using the code:

   var doc = app.activeDocument;

   var myObject = doc.objectStyles.item("box");

   myObject.strokeEffectsEnablingSettings.enableInnerGlow = false;
   myObject.strokeEffectsEnablingSettings.enableOuterGlow = false;

   But all I got is the behavior in the attached image. Is not really disabling and the effects is still active in the object.

   Posted the issue in a forum and we all realize that's a bug.

10. Indesign Saving Files

    In Indesign, the Interactive PDF save option needs to specify the file size before saving, how many MB will be. Just like when we save a JPEG file in Photoshop, it will tell you how many MB of the file will be before saving.

    I would appreciate it if you take this suggestion into consideration.

11. crash sleep mode

    Hello,

    I'm using InDesign 15.1.2 on a brand new Macbook Pro.

    Several times a day InDesign crashes. It seems to happen most often when:
    - my computer goes into sleep mode and I reawaken it

    but it sometimes happens when:
    - I copy text from a word document or email, and then try and paste it into a text frame within InDesign.

    Sometimes it happens for no reason, when I am using another program.

    I have spent a lot of time on the Adobe community page trying various solutions but nothing seems to have worked. I have 'problem reports' from the crash.

    Can anybody direct me to somebody who I can work with to try and resolve the issue?

    We have released InDesign 2021(v16.0.0.77) with a lot of stability fixes. We recommend you upgrade to the latest version (if you’re not already on it) as it is more robust.

12. dragging from cc libraries causes screen to move over

    HI, this bug has been around since forever. Please fix it.

    When dragging items in from cc libraries the page will move over a little bit. If you drag multiple times eventually you have to re-centre the screen. Its very very annoying.

13. ID crashes inserting a symbol as index reference.

    ID crashes inserting a symbol as index reference.

    Not a new problem by the looks of it.
    It doesn't matter whether I type a reference, copy and paste it or highlight text and use shortcut keys. ID always crashes if a symbol is the first thing in the index reference.

    however, if 'Sort by' is used and that doesn't start with a symbol it is okay. But this is only 'useful' when that is relevant, which is not always.

14. InDesign book has .INDD file extension

    I noticed that in v. 15.1.2 an InDesign "book" file no longer has the .INDB extension, but is now an .INDD. If that is intentional, Adobe needs to update the User Guide at https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/user-guide.html/indesign/using/creating-book-files.ug.html

15. [ID-4222280] GREP position marker "^" = Beginning of Paragraph (not beginning of a new line after a forced line break)

    Dear Support,

    with the GREP position marker "^" for "Beginning of Paragraph", the GREP-search should consider the position of the beginning of a paragraph.
    But this marker does not only recognize the beginning of a paragraph, but also the beginning of a new line after a forced line break (SHIFT-RETURN).

    This is not correct: A forced new line is not the beginning of a paragraph.
    The only correct way would be to consider the beginning of a paragraph (RETURN).

    Sometimes you can use "(?=\r)\w+" to look for a word behind a Return instead of "^\w+" to find only the hits at the beginning of a paragraph. However, a combination with the search for a paragraph format can be disturbing here: with the lookbehind combined with a paragraph style only those places are found, where two consecutive paragraphs have the same paragraph style.

    Please correct the effect of ^ to only beginning of paragraph (and not forced line break).

17. CC 2020 - Text tool switches back to previous tool, deselects itself

    Indesign 15.1.2 user here.

    Abnormally while im working in big sized files in indesign, whenever i press my Type Tool shortcut (which is "T") cursor goes to Type tool for a second then goes back to usally selection tool.

    When i go and choose the Type tool from left side bar it works.

    Im using windows pro 10. Re installed the program for few times.
    Saw other threads opened for the same issue but looks like you guys closed time bc it is fixed. But it is not! And it is incredibely time consuming!

    Beim PDF Export von Indesign Seiten kam es bei vereinzelten Seiten ohne Fehlermeldung dazu das einige z.B. Überschriften und Textelemente einfach nicht mit exportiert wurden. Schriften sind in Ordnung - keine Fehler auch im Preflight!!!!

20. [ID-4261000]Hebrew Text with Vowel Points Reorders Incorrectly When Pasted from InDesign to Word

    When keying (or importing) Hebrew text, InDesign often misplaces vowel points when two or more vowel points are attached to a single base character unless the base character and vowel points are keyed in a specific order. I don't totally understand it, but it has something to do with Unicode normalization. Microsoft Word gets around this problem, but I can't say how. It would be nice, however, if InDesign could get around it, too.

    One Hebrew font, SBL Hebrew, has written Unicode features (?) to prevent the normalization problem, but most fonts cannot do this on their own in InDesign. Times New Roman, for example, sets fine in Word, but the same file in InDesign shows vowel points displaced. The user guide for SBL Hebrew (available easily online) explains the problem better than I can.
