  1. ID 2020 15.1 - All text variables (including page numbers) replaced by "ss" text

    Just updated to ID 2020 15.1 and found a bug which makes the program unusable forcing me to immediately downgrade.
    When I open on of my ID documents created in previous version of ID, all of my defined text variables as well as page numbers are corrupted and replaced by the "ss" text. Changing the style has no effect. I can create page number based on the 'Basic Paragraph' style but when i choose any other previously created style, the number changes to 'ss'.
    Even the variable field preview shows 'ss' text instead of variable name.
    The same document opens…

  2. Cross reference anchors are not sorted alphabetically

    When adding a cross reference into the text pointing to a certain text anchor, the list of anchors is not sorted alphabetically. The anchors starting with accented letters are wrongly placed at the end of the list. The alphabet order should respect the language setting of UI.

  3. Quick apply crashes Indesign with Page Tool selected

    Indesign 2020 - 15.0.3 (macOS Mojave 10.14.6)
    1. Select page with Page Tool
    2. Trying to execute Quick Apply (via keyboard shortcut or clicking on icon) --> Indesign crash
    3. If page is NOT selected everything is OK

  4. Type Tool Deactivates Itself

    v15.0.3
    When selecting the Type Tool by using the keyboard shortcut (T), it briefly activates, then deactivates itself and the previous tool selected is made active again. I am unable to use the type tool in the brief period of time it is made active. I can select it successfully by clicking on the icon on the sidebar.

  5. When exporting PDF/X1-a:2003, Indesign creates a PDF 1.3 instead of PDF 1.4. Why?

    When exporting PDF/X1-a:2003, Indesign creates a PDF 1.3 instead of PDF 1.4. Why? The standard has lifted the Version to PDF 1.4 for the :2003 (over the PDF 1.3 in the :2001).
    How do I change that (if that is not a bug in Indesign)?

    To identify the cause of this issue, we had started our investigation with the aim to resolve it. You might have also received an email from us seeking more details to help in our investigation.

    We’ve concluded our investigation and came up with the finding: Either the issue is fixed in the latest release of InDesign or the issue was intermittent in nature at the time of its reporting and is not reproducible now.

    We recommend you to upgrade to the latest version of InDesign 2020 (if you’re not already on it). It contains a lot of stability fixes.

    If you still face this issue even after updating to the latest version of InDesign, please submit the crash report to us. (The guidelines to submit crash are available at (https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/submit-crash-reports.html)

  8. Spinning wheel keeps running make program not responding

    When starting up InDesign 2020 (15.0.3) it runs a ok for a couple of minutes, then the spinning wheel comes on/off randomly. When on its impossible to use the program.
    Its the program CEP Html Engine causing the problem. A lot of instances is started up (se attached image). Tried to debug the problem and found that its the file cef.pak (in CEP Program folder) that’s the problem. When removing this, everything is fine except that the startup popup is missing.

    1. 문자스타일의 볼드체가 적용되지 않은 상태로 나타남.
      모두 찾아서 재정의해줘야하는 문제!!!

  12. Toolbar is unusable.

    Please help. See image. No Tools are selectable for use.

    I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software. But nothing changed. I had to revert to CC 2019 to complete my work. My entire toolbar is unusable and not highlighted like its supposed to be. I'm in the middle of a deadline.

  13. save as file name bug

    Suddenly, when saving a file, the Mac interface highlights the entire document name AND file extension. The software has never done this, why the annoying change? Designers often save version numbers, so now it's not as quick to hit the right arrow key, change the version # at the end of the file, then save. The new way it highlights the file name doesnt make sense, because nobody would want to affect the file extension when renaming a file.

  14. syntax issue in exported pdf out of latest ID Version

    Was exporting a simple white pdf created with Indesign and High Print Quality Profile. Preflight is saying that there is a syntax-issue (General File Format Error).
    Using the latest Version of Indesign. Thats happening with every pdf at the moment.

  15. Books Panel Does Not Operate as a Standard Panel

    The Books panel does not operate in the same manner as other, standard panels. When re-positioned, the panel size is changed, and the Workspace is updated or a new workspace is created, the Books panel does not 'remember' the changes that were placed on it. For the user, this is extremely frustrating behavior. The books panel should, at a minimum, remember its position/size in relation to a given workspace.

  16. Renaming hyperlinks shared destinations: broken links in exported PDF

    Hello,

    I encounter a serious issue with InDesign 2020 (15.0.3) when renaming hyperlinks shared destinations (linking pages in the same document):

    Those links seem still working in InDesign when clicking a page icon in the Hyperlinks panel (it leads to the proper destination page)
    They don't work anymore after the PDF export in Acrobat (the links are clickable but they lead nowhere)
    I had to re-create all the shared destination links in the document, which is a huge waste of time at least and makes the feature very unreliable.

  17. Publish online- Safari issues

    Using ID 15.0.3

    Using embed code on my protfolio page.

    Videos cause rescaling of the page, videos are 1280x720 mp4s and have not been scaled on their pages

    Videos also do not play on page load, you must click play on them.

    None of these issues are present when using chrome.

  18. refresh all stories not working correctly

    InDesign 2020 v15.0.3 running on Mac Catalina.
    When I type command-option-/ to refresh stories the refresh seems to go into a toggle mode swapping back and forward between correct and incorrect layouts. Very difficult to know if the correct version is working. Similar to the 2017 bug where table headers disappeared but even WORSE as the usual fix does not work consistently. Have to manually check EVERY page of document before sending to client as layout goes crazy.

  19. InDesign 2019/2020, PDF export deletes components of some composite CJK glyphs when they overlap

    Install the test font in the attached zip and open the the InDesign document. Exporting to PDF clears out the top part. This did not happen in 2018.

    I initially reported this to Josh Hadley on 23 Jan 2020, who wrote up an internal report and came back to me, saying the InDesign team could reproduce and suggested working around the issue by decomposing everything or diverting the export through PostScript/Distiller. A very large client told us that this is not an option for them and would like a direct fix.

  20. [ID-4224413]JPG 300dpi export with horizontal lines

    When I export photo albums as JPG with the latest version, some images have horizontal lines. I've had the problem since macOS 10.14. (now catalina) and with older Indesign versions. If I change the size or position of the image, the stripes may disappear. If I use the DPI e.g. set to 301, the lines will also disappear.
