1. Problems with punctuation when exporting Hebrew files to epub

   Using Indesign V.19.5 on a Mac OS Sequoia V15.0.1
   
   When exporting a Hebrew document the punctuations move to the beginning of the sentences. I am unable to upload this book to an online shop. Had been in touch with Adobe support in the past but the issue remains.

2. interactive rollovers

   The Latest version of Indesign (20.0) has some bugs with rollover buttons in the EPUB Interactivity preview.

   Some rollover buttons work (buttons with basic changes made in the rollover state ie font/colour).

   Some rollover buttons do not work (buttons with different images placed in each rollover state) THE ROLLOVER STATE ALWAYS SHOWS, THE NORMAL STATE NEVER SHOWS.

   The 'publish online' documents work fine, this bug ONLY occurs with the EPUB interactivity preview in Indesign.

4. New document size issues

   When I create a new document in any Adobe program (mostly InDesign) and select what size I want to change it to (whether it be custom or a print size), the size reverts back to a previous size. I have to do this 3-5 times before I get the size I want. It has been like this on the last few updates. I'm currently on the latest InDesign version 20.0 2025. Others I work with don't have the same issue and are on the same IOS (macOS Monterey 12.7.6) and InDesign as I am. Mac IOS and Adobe programs are all on the latest version available.

5. Indesign opens on wrong screen with multiple monitors (Mac OS)

   This issue has been going on for years now. I recently updated to inDesign 2025, but it's still not solved for me:

   Expected result: I've assigned InDesign to open on my external monitor, just like all my other Adobe apps.
   Actual result: It completely ignores this, and just opens on my Macbook screen. The window resize buttons will be hidden behind my menu bar, so I have to alt+drag the window to make the buttons appear again. Then I can drag inDesign to my external monitor.

6. New Document Preset Bug

   When setting up a New Document, I am entering the custom width/height/margins/bleed settings I need, but as I click out of the fields, the settings revert back to the default Letter preset.

8. Text not active after clicking on pdf markup comment panel

   After clicking on the comment in the pdf comments panel, and applying the comment (or selecting the comment after auto-applying), sometimes I have to click again in the actual text frame to start typing any adjustments i need to make. It would be great if I could just type in the text frame after clicking on the comment, without having to again click in the text frame.

9. Wrong position of autocorrect

   Sometimes when a pdf markup is for a space between two words, the autocorrect creates the space in the wrong place, one character ahead of where it should be, so for example, if the markup was to the words removespace, the result would be removes pace.

10. Sharing InDesign Library files (*.indl)

    Sharing InDesign Library files (*.indl) with others on my team.

    I spoke with InDesign "folks" at the recent Adobe MAX conference in Miami, FL, and they suggested using the CC Library to share these files, but they are not allowed to be posted. This was the suggestion given to me at the conference/convention.

    I need to be able to share access to these files (I have several libraries), but if I'm using InDesign, others can't even open them, much less get the content within.

11. After updating to InDesign v20.0 Apple Emoji characters are NO LONGER SUPPORTED in the names of "Adobe PDF presets"!

    THIS BUG IS PRESENT since the update to InDesign v20.0.
    Menu: InDesign > File > Adobe PDF Presets

    After updating to InDesign v20.0 Apple Emoji characters are NO LONGER SUPPORTED in the names of "Adobe PDF presets"!
    After many years of functioning perfectly, now with version 20.0 Adobe dropped support of Apple Emoji characters in"PDF presets", resulting, that "PDF presets" can no longer imported to the latest version of InDesign!
    Symptome 01: after updating to InDesign 20.0 the existing presets with names containing Apple Emoji symbols are deleted.
    Symptome 02: When trying to import previous "PDF-presets" ith names containing Apple Emoji symbols, these DO NOT IMPORT into InDesign 20.0!
    Symptome 03: In InDesign 20.0, when creating new "PDF-presets" Apple Emoji characters in the preset name after saving the preset it just disappears without trace!

12. Guides aligned with cursor and not object

    Just updated to InDesign 2025 (v 20.0) and had to switch back to the previous version due to the smart guides functioning strangely. The guides should show up in the center or edge of the object so that I can align it properly on the page and in relation to other objects. Instead, it's producing the guidelines from wherever my cursor is when I click and drag the object. This has made it much more difficult to do simple things like center objects, since it's just centering my cursor instead. I've never had any desire to align things based on where my cursor is. I don't see an option to turn this off.

    I restarted the program and checked for updates, and there were none. I also turned off and on smart guides, which didn't help. InDesign 2024 is still functioning correctly.

13. Searching for fonts by Japanese name in the context taskbar is not reflected.

    Windows 10/11
    InDesign Ver. 20.0

    This is a trouble when searching for a font by keyboard input of the font name on the context taskbar and selecting from those listed.
    When searching by Kanji, Japanese, etc., the search is not reflected as a search list and returns to the font before the search was entered.
    If the font name is alphanumeric, it is normal, but if the font name is not alphanumeric, it cannot be searched.

    コンテキストタスクバーでフォント名をキーボード入力して検索し、リストアップされるものから選ぶ場合のトラブルです。
    漢字や日本語などで検索をかけると、検索一覧として反映できず、検索入力する前のフォントに戻ります。
    英数字名のフォントであれば正常ですが、英数字名以外のフォント名が検索できない、という状態になっています。

14. [ID-4256547] InDesign 2025 Won't Lock "Constrain Proportions"

    When creating a frame, rectangle, any object, or selecting any other object, InDesign 2025 will not keep Constrain Proportions locked when the lock icon is clicked on the control bar.

    The user now has to click it while they select each object and want to scale an object by scaling either the width or height.

    I didn't notice this at first, but found out from a Reddit post.

15. App window resizes after presentation mode

    InDesign 2025 (v 20.0) on Mac OS 14.6.1

    When opening presentation mode (Shift + W or View > Screen Mode > Presentation …) and going back to default/preview mode the application window resizes.
    When having the app window to its full size after presentation mode it changes back to its smaller size that you can toggle by using the green plus icon on the top left (Mac Version).

    When setting both window states manually to full size and toggling between the two (without effective size change) once it works afterwards the window stays in the same size when escaping presentation mode. But this does not work all the time an is a quite annoying work around.

    I also got help via the support chat and tried to quit and reopen. This does not help. I reinstalled the previous version (Indesign 2024 v 19.5) and there it works fine.

16. 2025 ID - Linked Files fail and just Spin

    Mac 14.7 - ID 2025 - Docs with Linked Files (simple PDFs and Jpgs) just produce spinners and never become workable. Display set to Typical. This happens AFTER a file is saved and re-opened. When it is made all is fine, until it is closed and reopened. Have reverted to 2024.

    We have released InDesign 2025(v20.2.0.036) with many stability fixes. We recommend you upgrade to the latest version (if you’re not already on it) as it is more robust.

    If you still face this issue even after updating, please submit the crash report to us. (Guidelines to submit crash are available at (https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/submit-crash-reports.html )

    • Reproducible Steps – What were you doing when InDesign crashed?

17. Export to HTML5 - options cannot be accessed

    In the new Indesign there is this HTML5 export advertised. So I gave a try. But it is quite unfinished. I attached a screenshot - a dialog appears on the top of the export options panel, due to this the export options cannot be accessed. Closing the top dialog automatically starts the export process. Clicking "Cancel" cancels the main dialog as well.

18. V 20.0 Bugs

    Text box content disappearing. Only will reappear after box is moved or typed in. Some content may appear and some will not be visible until box is moved again. This happens often when typing or deleting text.
    Also, now I only have 2 undos. History only shows two items.
    Just updated to 20.0 and these issues occurred right after. Please fix!

19. [ID-4256404]InDesign crashes consistently on book pdf export

    InDesign 20, Mac Ventura 13.7. iMac 27in, 2017.
    Every time I try to export a Book to PDF InDesign crashes. Crash occurs even with just one idd doc in the book (with nothing in the doc besides a single page with one rectangle shape).

    2. Steps to reproduce the issues
       Set any even number for the start page number on the Create New Document screen.

    3. Expected result
       An even page number will be displayed in Current Page Number as set.

    4. Actual resul
       The value set in the New Document screen will not be reflected, and “Current Page Number” will display “1”.

    As shown in the attached figure, when “Current Page Number” is inserted into a new document with the starting page number set to an even number, the document starts with “1”.
    (As long as the number set in the new document creation screen is an even number, any value will not be reflected and will become “1”).

    This phenomenon can be recovered by temporarily setting a different value in “Number & Section Option”.
    However, for users who are not aware of this behavior, it is sure to cause great confusion.
    It can also cause significant time loss in finding a solution.
    We have not been able to verify whether this bug is specific to the Japanese version, but we recognize that it is a very serious bug.
    We sincerely hope that the development team will fix it as soon as possible.

    新規ドキュメント画面で設定した値は反映されず、「現在のページ番号」に「1」が表示される。

    添付画像のように、開始ページ番号を偶数番号に設定した新規ドキュメントに、「現在のページ番号」を挿入すると「1」から開始されます。
    （新規ドキュメント作成画面で設定した番号が偶数である限り、いかなる値であっても反映されず「1」となる）

    この現象は「ページ番号とセクションの設定」で、一時的に別の値を設定すれば回復します。
    しかしこの挙動を認識していないユーザーにとって、大きな混乱を招く原因となることは間違いありません。
    また、解決策を見つけるために大きな時間のロスを生む可能性があります。
    この不具合は日本語版固有の問題なのかは検証できていませんが、非常に深刻なバグであると認識しています。
    開発チームには早急に改善していただくよう切に希望します。
