1. Drop Cap size, is based on next character

   Indesign 2023 Hebrew Version
   Macbook Pro M1

   When i create a drop cap, the size of the drop cap is changing based on the next character after the drop cap, it only happens when the leading is fixed, when the leading is auto, it just moves up and down based on the size of the next character.
   As you can see in the attached images, both paragraphs have the same style but when i change the size of the character after the drop cap the size or the leading of the drop cap changes

2. Line Jumps by Half its Stroke Weight in InDesign CC (Version 18.3)

   In InDesign CC (Version 18.3), there is a persistent bug where a line jumps unexpectedly by half its stroke weight when attempting to change its length. This issue has been present for some time and occurs consistently. Enabling or disabling the scaling options in the settings does not have any effect on this behavior.

   Steps to Reproduce:
   1. Open InDesign CC (Version 18.3) on the affected system.
   2. Create a new document page or open an existing document.
   3. Draw a line with any length and stroke weight.
   4. Select the line to edit it.
   5. Try to change the length of the line by dragging one of its ends or adjusting the properties in the control panel.
   6. Observe how the line unexpectedly jumps by half its stroke weight.

   Expected Behavior:
   The length of the line should adjust accordingly to the changes made without any unexpected shifts or jumps.

   Actual Behavior:
   When attempting to adjust the line's length, it consistently jumps by half its stroke weight, resulting in incorrect positioning.

   Additional Information:
   - The bug consistently occurs and affects every line when attempting to change its length.
   - Enabling or disabling the scaling options in the settings does not impact the occurrence of this issue.

3. Share for Review

   Share for Review and PDF export have been consistently not working. Below is a screen share of my attempting to export a PDF and share for review. I recently got a new computer. I don't know if it's an issue with syncing but it's happening with every document I open. I get notifications from time to time saying PDF won't export because of a PNG file that is misplaced but it doesn't mention what file. Imagine trying to locate the needle in a haystack.

   I've closed the files, restarted inDesign, verified that it was up to date, scoured the forums, but nothing seems to work.

4. Pictures placed via copy-paste are not shown in link panel

   When inserting a picture via copy+paste, it is not shown in the link panel - neither as missing nor as "embedded".

6. Using a decimal tab negatively affects line breaks

   InDesign 18.5 on Mac
   Providing the steps would involve too many specific formatting choices, so I'll just describe what I'm seeing instead. I have a two-column text box for endnotes (literal; not InDesign-generated. E.g., "[tab]1.[tab]Note text."). I want the descriptors to align on the decimal point. When I use a decimal tab, the following text breaks like this:

   [tab]6.[tab]Paul Renouard, Docteur Char-
   cot, cover of...

   The width of the text frame, however, will clearly accommodate "cot, cover." If I change the decimal tab to a right tab (and adjust its placement slightly so that the period is in almost exactly the same place), the line reflows as

   [tab]6.[tab]Paul Renouard, Docteur Charcot, cover
   of...

   I've checked hyphenation settings, justification settings, and so on, but nothing will let the line rebreak as it should EXCEPT changing the decimal tab to a right tab. In fact, even if I try to a single letter after "Char" with the tab set as a decimal, InDesign forces the letter to the next line when it will clearly fit on the first line. Attached are two images showing the difference.

7. Relinking a .webp image with an embedded ICC profile freezes InDesign 2023

   When you try to relink a new image to an existing one, and the new image is in .webp format with an embedded ICC profile, InDesign 2023 hangs. This is reproducible. Relinking works as expected if the .webp image does not have an embedded ICC profile.

   The only thing that does work on the extended numeric keypad is the + and - keys.

    (2) Cursor in text block or selected text --> Click on Paragraph Sales drop-down field
    (3) See a listing of all of your styles , at least showing 15, 20 etc. with a list that dropdowns the entire screen
    (4) Sometimes it display a small window showing only 5 or so styles at a time, other times, a larger window with slightly more styles and sometimes, a large window showing all of your styles.

    Behavior is inconsistent, showing a large window with a full list sometimes and a smaller window other times.

15. Nothing changed, but InDesigns asks for saving changes

    When opening an object, doing nothing (or just print) and closing it, InDesign comes up with a dialog to save changes. That feels very uncomfortable - did I change something by accident?

    PS Pressing cmd-S for save brings up the Save As... dialog.

16. shortcuts

    non of my short cuts are working. I cannot resize an object and its frame at the same time, I cannot resize an image holding shift to keep it the same shape. Spacebar to move, option to duplicate, everything. none of it working. this is a brand new computer, installed InDesign, and the shortcuts have not worked at all. I've tried all of the solutions on the internet and none have worked. Please help.

17. Negative values needed size and position options in Object Style

    Currently, you cannot set negative values for the Size and Position Options inside of Object Styles.

    This is an obvious error because sometimes, you need a class of objects to bleed. For example, I would like a ImageFullpage style that I could use to set images that bleed on all four sides.

    This requires that they be positioned at -0.125 x and 0.125 y.

    Also, an ImageCaption style that sets a caption on top of an image should allow me to use -y: .125. When combined with the bottom reference point and the from: "group" option (another request), it would set the caption so that the bottom was aligned 0.125 Inches above the image easily.

18. Accessing alternate characters in fonts for paragraph styles

    MacOS: 13.5
    Adobe Indesign 18.5
    Version of font: Inter Medium 3.019;git-0a5106e0b

    Recently I have been trying to access the alternate closed ‘a’ character in the font Inter from Google fonts. For some reason I can not access this alternate character and set as a universal style to apply to other text boxes.
    I have approached GitHub to flag Inter with issues but have been informed that it might not be an issue with the font but rather how Indesign UI is accessing it. Please note that Adobe Illustrator seems to access this alternate closed ‘a’ character with the Open Type ‘Stylist Alternatives’ option but Indesign can not.

    Steps to reproduce the behaviour:
    Using Inter font - Type a normal ‘a’ within text box in InDesign (Ive been testing Inter Medium but seems any Inter weight should replicate the issue).
    Try swapping out the lowercase ‘a’ to the alternate closed ‘a’ with the character or paragraph windows - this is to make sure that I can save the style to apply to other text throughout the document.
    Please note: this option should be available to save as a style in order to use this as a universal paragraph style for any future text. Just swapping out an alternate character with find/replace is not a solution.

    Expected behaviour
    One of the alternate character options or stylist sets should universally change out all lowercase ‘a’ characters to closed ‘a’ character so that the style can be set for the whole document.

19. Publish Online Analytics slow or failing

    Many of us have raised the publish online dashboard analytics slow loading and/or complete failure to work and it still seems to ne ignored.

    We have noticed across our design team that analytics seems to work differently across different accounts. Accounts with less documents published online have greater success and speed in returning analytics. Those with over a 100 documents for example have limited success.

    We think this maybe due to that when you request the analytics for a 'single' document Adobe systems are not just loading that 'single' document. They are processing the whole account and all documents within.

    This would makes sense in that an account with less documents can retrieve statistics for 1 year or 'since published' options. But an account with hundreds of documents 'for us' is limited to 60 to 90 day statistics.

    We assume this 'whole account' processing must be the case because when statistics for a single document are received for say a 1 year date range - all other documents can be 'instantly' viewed for that 1 year date range without any reloading or searching of the data.

    Can Adobe please fix this or at least tell us if it will NOT be fixed.
