1. Select multiple cells in a table that are not next to each other.

   Good morning,

   When we creating a table in Indesign, it is impossible to select several cells at the same time, if they are not side by side.
   There is no shortcut yet that allows you to do this.
   This would save a lot of time, being able to change the background color, or font, of several selected cells.
   For the moment, we have to take the cells one by one, one by one, one by one, one by one... Not really fast...!

   Il n'existe pas encore de raccourci qui permet de le faire.
   Cela ferait gagner beaucoup de temps, afin de pouvoir changer la couleur de fond, ou la police d'écriture, de plusieurs cellules sélectionnées.
   Pour le moment, nous sommes obligées de prendre les cellules une par une.
   Pas vraiment rapide.

2. Color Swatch Menu Closes Upon Right-Click

   1. Adobe InDesign v19.0 When I click the color swatches panel menu dropdown, the menu drops down, and I am able to edit existing swatches and I am able to add new swatches. The problem occurs when I attempt to right-click on a color or if I press the hamburger button at the top right of the panel. When I try to do either of these, the entire menu closes.

3. [ID-4251249] Exiting Presentation Mode changes Application's Window size at higher UI Scaling when connected to external monitor.

   InDesign's Window size set by user prior to entering Presentation mode is not retained upon exiting from Presentation mode when connected to external monitor and with the UI Scaling set to other than Small setting.
   InDesign's window becomes fullscreen.
   It would be great to get back to same size and position.

4. Type palettes UI visual problem

   Something amiss with the paragraph and character palette, the field contents is showing not where they should be—the zeros or contents of the field are up over the alignment symbols. See screenshots.

5. High Cpu Usage indesign 2021-2022-2023-2024 versions...

   Hello, unfortunately I have this problem too, it constantly uses 30% of the processor when idle, I tried everything, but the problem is completely related to the new indesign versions. Adobe has not made a fix on this issue yet, when will you fix it, Adobe?

   I never experienced this problem in old versions. This problem is valid for 2021-2022-2023-2024 versions.

   I tested by installing all Indesign versions on my computer and found that the only problematic versions were versions 2021 and above.

   From the attached images, you can see the CPU usage of the 2020 version and the 2021 version. 2020 has no problems, but the 2021 version uses high processor idle.

6. Link Name as Page Title in Share for Review

   I have no idea why it isn’t set up this way, as the title of "Link Name" certainly makes it sound like that would be the page title, but instead I find that every single document I share for review has the page title of "Files | Adobe Creative Cloud" which is supper annoying when I have to share a few different proofs in a messaging app. Messaging apps (like Skype) convert the link to a card that features the page title in bold, so I end up with a series of links that all look the exact same, with no way for the recipient to know what they are until they click on them. Can the page titles of Share For Review pages please be changed to what we set as the Link Name?

7. composite fonts

   InDesign VERSION 19.1
   I Created a new font using "composite fonts", chose the base font, latin & Numbers. after creating the new font, i selected the text frame and applied the new font i created (like i always did)
   the problem is, tha the latin letters showed up with wide spacing (wide tracking) - shown in the attached image.
   While teaching my student that, they told me the encountered the same problem. Since i have used it in the past i assume it is a bug

8. Data merge panel blank

   Data Merge WAS failing to display data field placeholders in either existing documents or new ones. I'm getting a completely Data Merge blank panel when importing a new source file, and when opening an existing document with a linked file, I was only seeing a preview of one of the records.
   This persisted through a number of workspace configurations (most including a second monitor) until I broke the Data Merge panel off from the others, and cycled through the panel size presets (the up/down chevrons to the left of the panel title) - only once returned to 'standard' size did the Data Merge panel again display the merge tags, and allow the preview button to be clicked etc

9. Copy & paste within a numbered list can cause wrong numbering

   If you create a numbered list which runs over 2 or more columns and copy some text within the list from one paragraph to another the numbering changes. In my example you have 2 times 1 in the list.

   To make it even more crazy this only happens when you use the Adobe Single-line composer. If you work with the Adobe ParagraphComposer there's no problem at all.

   If you change the text frame from 2 columns to 1 column and back the error disappears as well.

10. PlaceGun does not have reference to idms textframe

    Hi,

    I'm trying to place a textframe from an idms file into an indesign document. The actual loadPlaceGun() operation seems to work fine as I'm able to paste the textframe on the page. However, I also want to have a reference to that textframe. I was trying to accomplish this by using

    placeGun.pageItems.everyItem().getElements(), but it doesn't return any elements. I find this odd because I'm using the same method when inserting images and it works fine, so I'm not sure what the issue is. 11. fit frame to content no longer working at all

    fit frame to content no longer working as top toolbar click icon shortcut or pulldown or help since recent sonoma update to 14.4.1

    ID2022 17.4.1 mac OS intel iMac 2020

    already restarted numerous times. recently had to start over for prefs/settings -- that is a waste of time & ridiculous to have to do it every time.

12. Right-to-left paragraph orientation causes problems

    Hello and thanks in advance to the respondents.
    For several months now I have been suffering from a very annoying problem in InDesign and I have not been able to find a solution.
    When I set the writing direction from right to left (using the edit menu - right to left), the arrow keys on the right and left keyboard stop responding as they should, and instead of each click the cursor moves one character to the right or left, clicking on them jumps the cursor to the beginning or end of the line.
    The problem only exists when I select the "Visual" option in the above menu.
    Of course, in my Adobe Creative settings, English is set to support Hebrew, and I also noticed that I am opening a text window of the Middle East type, and in the paragraph settings itself, the direction is set from right to left.

13. Page Label Not Inherited from Parent to Document Page

    I'm assigning a page label to a parent page using by script like

    myParentPage=app.activeDocument.masterSpreads.itemByName("PRD-Products").pages[0];
    myParentPage.insertLabel("page", "products");

    When I insert a new document page based on this parent page, the page label is NOT inherited but just empty.

    Impossible de modifer la langue en français dans la correction orthographe / dictionnaire.
    La langue et le dictionnaire sont bien en français dans les paramètres.
    Mais la correction orthographique se fait en anglais ou en italien : Le changement de dictionnaire ne fonctionne pas dans la fenêtre orthographe.

    We have released InDesign 2025(v20.2.0.036) with many stability fixes. We recommend you upgrade to the latest version (if you’re not already on it) as it is more robust.

    If you still face this issue even after updating, please submit the crash report to us. (Guidelines to submit crash are available at (https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/submit-crash-reports.html )

    Also, please send the following information to santalwa@adobe.com :

    • Reproducible Steps – What were you doing when InDesign crashed?
    • Video recording of the crash
    • Is(Are) the issue related to a specific document(s)/asset(s)? If yes, could you provide us with the document(s)/asset(s)? Please package the entire document (To package the document, choose File → Package…)

16. Disable the download video link in Publish Online

    When viewing video on Publish Online, there's an option to download the video. It would be nice to be able to turn that off when uploading in the same way that the sharing can be turned off.

17. creative cloud libraries bug

    Hi, in indesign creative cloud libraries is borked. In each library only the top level will show and only four items from that level, all folders within a library show as empty. True for all libraries. They all load fine in illustrator/photoshop etc.

    Latest version as of 27/03/2024. Windows 11.

    reinstalled, reset prefs etc. Not helping issue only present in indesign, seriously impeding work flow. please fix

18. Export - Jpg - Page Size - Suffix

    Love the new update where you can change the export options to include a specific Suffix, however could you remove the spaces between the sizes in the Page Size Suffix export? For example, 700 x 200 would be 700x200. This will help speed up the process in file naming as we can not have spaces in files names in any graphics for our websites.

20. Incorrect diacritic position for some letters when using bullets

    When using the latest version of Noto Sans Arabic (2.012), if bullets/numbering is enabled in InDesign for a line containing a word with a medial position jeem ج, the dot of the jeem gets out of place. If bullets/numbering are not used, then all is well. I submitted this as a bug on GitHub for the Noto Sans team, but they say it is an issue with InDesign and the layout engine. You can also see other issues on the GitHub issue at https://github.com/notofonts/arabic/issues/232.

    To reproduce:

    1. Create a text frame using the "ME Type Tool" in InDesign (for a right-to-left text frame).

    2. Paste وين نتجمع؟ in the text frame. Notice the dot of the letter jeem is proper, showing below the main part of the letter.

    3. Place the caret inside the text frame at the beginning of the phrase.

    4. In the "Bullets and Numbering" property section, click the "Numbered List" button to change the line of text to a numbered list.

    5. Notice that the dot for the jeem is no longer below the main part of the letter, but rather is now close to the baseline and barely visible.

    When using the latest version of Noto Sans Arabic (2.012), if bullets/numbering is enabled in InDesign for a line containing a word with a medial position jeem ج, the dot of the jeem gets out of place.
