1. Acrobat extension for Chrome renders sheared rectangles incorrectly in PDF exported from InDesign CC 2022 / 24

   Filled sheared rectangles in PDF documents exported from InDesign are rendered incorrectly in the Adobe Acrobat extension for Chrome, but displays as expected in other PDF readers [ Preview, Safari, Quickview, etc. ]. The sheared rectangles are displayed as a box of the fill colour with the outer bounds of the sheared shape. Adding a stroke suggests the sheared rectangle is preserved, but is not honoured by the fill.

   Work around: Adding an additional anchor point, or rounding the corners, appears to correct this issue.

2. Hide Frame Edges

   I'm working on Windows 11. I'm not sure what the InDesign version is but I just bought it two days ago.

   Everything has been smooth so far but when I needed to hide the Frame Edges I met this issue. From what I found out there are two options: View > Extras > Hide Frame Edges or simply Ctrl + H

   Neither case worked.

3. UI settings greyed out

   No one EVER solves this. Those of us who work on TV monitors (for the large size) can never get the panels text (among other things) to scale up so they are legible. This causes great eyestrain and is just terrible, over all. Usually, it is suggested that I change my resolution, but I can't do that, because it would ***** up everything else on my computer, including ID. This problem has been around for about 20 years, and the folks at InDesign don't care. They have never fixed it.

4. Indesign transparency effect doesnt work when published online

   My Indesign is the newest version,19.4.
   The text transparency effect (multiply) doesn't appear in the online published version. it goes back to the solid color, not the color + multiply effect
   Preview is working fine and I had no problem when its exported to PDF

5. [ID-4245419]Auto-Sizing of text frames results in abnormally long widths

   InDesign 2023 v18.1 (Probably occurs in all versions after CS6)

   There is a terrible bug in Auto-Sizing for text frames that causes the width to become unusually long.

   Simple and reliable reproduction procedure

   1. Create a new document
   2. Set all units to points in Preferences
   3. Create a new text frame
   4. Set paragraph style to “Basic Paragraph” and clear overrides
   5. Set Auto-Sizing
      -->Change to “Height and Width” --> Click the upper left corner -->Turn on “No Line Breaks”
   6. Insert Spacing to 1 pt
   7. Corner Options to 1 pt and Round
   8. Enter “0 [Line Break]” repeatedly (about 20 times) in the text frame

   Workaround

   Set Columns
   -->Change to “Flexible Width”
   -->Set Maximum to a very large value (like 1000 pt)

6. InDesign V19.1 Updated Jan 18 2024 Bug: Double click on text frame moves the frame every time

   With the new version 19.1, every time I double click on a text box to change text, after each double click the text box is moving a tiny bit. This happens every time in any document and after a program restart.

7. Apple's Spoken Content not functioning in InDesign 19.2

   I use Apple's Spoken Content to have my Mac read my documents back to me as a way of proof reading sections at a time for continuity and structure (something no spell check provides). When I highlight text I want read aloud and hit the keyboard commands for Spoken Content, the Mac reads the actual file name of the document! If I copy and paste the text into a .indd file for InDesign 18.5.1 and repeat the steps, it works correctly and reads my text out loud. It works if I open any .indd file that is not saved in 19.2.
   PLEASE FIX THIS - accessibility for Spoken Content is a necessity for ADA users.

8. Text box (&photoBox) LAG & MOVE after clicking / editing

   When clicking on TXT box indesign freezes for about 1s then it's moving text box ON ITS OWN by few pixels (please take a look at video: 1-2s, 12-14s, 22-24s) like how is this happening??? It doesn't matter if the document is big or small, new or old - I've tried all options it's doing it every single time!!! I can't work since it;s driving me crazy FIX IT ASAP:

   INFO: Adobe InDesign v19.2, MacOS: 14.3 (23D56), MacBook Pro 16" m1 PRO, 32Gb RAM

   Additional info:
   1. tried on multiple documents all have the same poblem
   2. new document with one txt box and some copy also have the same problem after clicking
   3. tried almost everything to get rid of that stutter and txt/photo boxes moving by thier own but nothing works and trust me I'm advanced user when it comes to software

9. style from word not recognised

   When I, in a word document linked to Indesign add a style which begins with the name of anther style, followed by a comma (no space) and more text, InDesign does not recognise that this is a new style but instead treats it (and calls it) by the other (shorter) style name. Workaround is to e.g. use an underscore instead, but it took me quite a while that is was this issue that caused the strange indesign behaviour.

10. gpu view corrupt!

    Apple Mac Mini M1, 16GB / Adobe InDesign 19.2: even after today's update, GPU view doesn't display correctly some objects on the page! CPU view ok, overprint view ok, but after switching to GPU view, some objects disappear! Please see the attached footage.
    Adobe InDesign 18.5.1 on the same machine works ok with the same document.

11. Library assets missing in InDesign 2024 v19.3 but visible in Creative Cloud

    Many assets that i've made and added into my libraries that we use for production are now missing for me in InDesign, v19.3, although they are still present in the Creative Cloud app, and my coworker using the same library but on InDesign v19.1 does not have this issue so far.

    Both of us are on the latest version of MacOs, v14.4.

12. A Tabulação não aceita imagem Wrap

    Quando faço uma tabulação na largura da coluna e coloco uma imagem com text warp do lado esquerdo da imagem eu tenho que tabular linha por linha (ver Arquivo), do lado direito da imagem que é o início da coluna de texto funciona perfeitamente.

15. Accepting PDF Comments does not insert the comments, only deletes the text

16. Page navigation information built incorrectly in epubs exported from books (.indb files)

    In InDesign 19.4 x64, when an epub export is created for a book (.indb file), page navigation links restart at page 1 for every document (.indd file). The toc.xhtml file looks okay despite this, but in the document xhtml files, the software is treating duplicates as non-unique and appending a sequence number to them. As a result, many of the links in the toc.xhtml file are broken. I've attached a text file showing portions of the relevant xhtml files illustrating this problem.

    This is a major issue, because some epub distributors catch the error in validation and prevent the book from being uploaded. Amazon KDP doesn't care (for now), but IngramSpark does. I have to unzip the epub, manually remove the page navigation from the toc.xhtml file, and repackage it in order to distribute the epub through them.

    Notes:

    1. There is another request mentioning that the page numbers should reflect the page numbers in the book. If that were implemented, this problem would probably go away. However, that request indicates that the links work. Clearly, in my case, they do not work.

    2. There is another request reporting that the Page Navigation checkbox does nothing. I've verified this. I tried to resolve the issue by unchecking Page Navigation, but the page navigation code was inserted into the files anyway.

17. PNGs will often export at low resolution unless "high quality display" is selected

    I have a graphic which includes a cropped part of a PDF which is a CAD drawing. I select it all, export to a PNG at 600dpi. Put it into Word and when I zoom in it's fairly pixelated: definitely not 600dpi.

    If I select the placed PDF, turn the display performance to "High Quality Display" and re-export, it's a beautiful 600dpi file. This screams "bug" to me.

    I'll add this to another bug report of mine, which is that if a link is modified or missing, you won't get a warning when exporting a PNG that uses it (you just get the lo-res preview in your graphic).

    Enabling GPU causes some object disappear. Switching to CPU causes viewing all objects right.
    When I open the same document in InDesign 18.5.1, everything is shown good.

    This is terrible!

19. Is this a text wrap problem or something else??

    I use InDesign 2022. My Text wrap is set to 'none'.

    When I open a new text box it’s automatically applying a 1" a white space top and bottom that is the width of the text box. Also a 1/4" white space to each side of the box, that is the height of the text box. These 'white panels' (I hesitate to call them text wraps) blank out other text boxes and photos, but sometimes the text from the underlying text box shows through. Bringing the photo to the front can help where a photo is concerned.

    This is especially annoying when I need a smaller photo within the text and the text disappears to the side of the caption box. Photos text wrap just fine. Also if I have to put two text boxes together - one's 'white panels' invariably blanks out the other box's text.

    I have tried all sorts of on-line suggestions but none seemed to help, and after one I couldn't even drop a photo onto a page. Desperate, I used 'restore' on my computer to reset everything to June 27 (earliest date possible) and I can now place photos, but the white space problem persists.

20. Window with InDesign document goes black with clicks etc. when using 2 screens

    I am using InDesign 19.4. on a MacStudio with MacOs Sonoma 14.4.1. 2 screens are connected: Apple Studio Display 27 inch (main screen), to the right BenQ PD2710QC.

    When I have an InDesign document open on the main screen (left screen) and the window of the document touches the right and bottom edge of the screen, the window with the document constantly goes black when I perform various actions such as right-clicking or moving an object in the document. When I click again, the screen returns to normal. This problem is terribly annoying.

    The only solution so far: The window with the document must not touch the right and bottom edges of the main screen.
