  1. Wrong alphaphetic order in index

    Alphaphetic index order is wrong in Finnish InDesign 19.3.

    For example this is the result:

    Koivu, Jukka 143, 208, 209
    Koivula, Pauli 80
    Koivu, Saku 132, 142
    Koivusalo, Timo 110, 111
    Koivu, Tuire 143
    Kolmonen, Jaakko 17, 18

    Should be this:

    Koivu, Jukka 143, 208, 209
    Koivu, Saku 132, 142

    Also the W-beginnings word should be in own section, not in V-beginnings.

    We have released InDesign 2025(v20.2.0.036) with many stability fixes. We recommend you upgrade to the latest version (if you’re not already on it) as it is more robust.

    If you still face this issue even after updating, please submit the crash report to us. (Guidelines to submit crash are available at (https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/submit-crash-reports.html )

    Also, please send the following information to santalwa@adobe.com :

    • Reproducible Steps – What were you doing when InDesign crashed?
    • Video recording of the crash
    • Is(Are) the issue related to a specific document(s)/asset(s)? If yes, could you provide us with the document(s)/asset(s)? Please package the entire document (To package the document, choose File → Package…)

  3. Book/TOC

    For InDesign 2024: 19.3x64, there are problems with the TOC 'update Furniture'. After page a few pages the 'Running Headers' disappear from the page while it should be placed. With InDesign 2023, this was working, so this is a bug with the latest InDesign version.

  4. rtl paragraphs line break wrong direction issue

    In rtl text, I use rtl paragraph direction. when I add \n (forced line break) the remaining part of the text changes direction, unless I change character direction of \n character to "right to left". I use "default" as default character direction of paragraphs.

  5. I can't create my Composite Font and all of my C.F are missing

    Latest Version, Korean ver.

    Text > Composite Font > New > (making composite font) > save > ok > loading > pop up that i don't have access rights

    And When i open my works that i made with my personal composite font, pop up that indesign fail to make composite font (my composite font's name).

    I made a composite font and used it well, but when I turned on my computer and turned on InDesign, all the composite fonts were gone.
    Therefore, I tried to recreate the composite font, but the above window popped up and I couldn't use…

  6. Mac OS. The floating windows for Text Wrap, Paragraph, etc. go blank over time.

    Mac OS 14.3.1. InDesign 19.3. The floating windows for Text Wrap, Paragraph, and possibly others go blank over time. The only way to fix it is to quit, and relaunch while deleting preferences. Then preferences have to be redone. This has been happening for several years, over several operating systems, many InDesign versions, and at least two different iMacs.

  7. Text Anchors For Hyperlinking Keep Changing To Different Anchors

    After manually changing every single text anchor back to the proper destination and saving, the text anchors have now changed to different locations or have been removed completely. This is a huge bug that has caused me to waste a week of time.

  8. Select multiple cells in a table that are not next to each other.

    Good morning,

    When we creating a table in Indesign, it is impossible to select several cells at the same time, if they are not side by side.
    There is no shortcut yet that allows you to do this.
    This would save a lot of time, being able to change the background color, or font, of several selected cells.
    For the moment, we have to take the cells one by one, one by one, one by one, one by one... Not really fast...!

  9. Color Swatch Menu Closes Upon Right-Click

    1. Adobe InDesign v19.0 When I click the color swatches panel menu dropdown, the menu drops down, and I am able to edit existing swatches and I am able to add new swatches. The problem occurs when I attempt to right-click on a color or if I press the hamburger button at the top right of the panel. When I try to do either of these, the entire menu closes.

  10. [ID-4251249] Exiting Presentation Mode changes Application's Window size at higher UI Scaling when connected to external monitor.

    InDesign's Window size set by user prior to entering Presentation mode is not retained upon exiting from Presentation mode when connected to external monitor and with the UI Scaling set to other than Small setting.
    InDesign's window becomes fullscreen.
    It would be great to get back to same size and position.

  11. Type palettes UI visual problem

    Something amiss with the paragraph and character palette, the field contents is showing not where they should be—the zeros or contents of the field are up over the alignment symbols. See screenshots.

  12. Stop stealing focus

    Please find a way to make InDesign stop stealing focus every time it does something. It does it 3 separate times on launch, every PDF export, and every time a file finished opening. Some files are 100MB+ and can take time to load, so sitting around waiting for it is not something people with work to do can afford to do all the time, and getting focus stolen in the middle of an email is not a good way to maintain workflow.   13. Link Name as Page Title in Share for Review

    I have no idea why it isn’t set up this way, as the title of "Link Name" certainly makes it sound like that would be the page title, but instead I find that every single document I share for review has the page title of "Files | Adobe Creative Cloud" which is supper annoying when I have to share a few different proofs in a messaging app. Messaging apps (like Skype) convert the link to a card that features the page title in bold, so I end up with a series of links that all look the exact same, with…

  14. composite fonts

    InDesign VERSION 19.1
    I Created a new font using "composite fonts", chose the base font, latin & Numbers. after creating the new font, i selected the text frame and applied the new font i created (like i always did)
    the problem is, tha the latin letters showed up with wide spacing (wide tracking) - shown in the attached image.
    While teaching my student that, they told me the encountered the same problem. Since i have used it in the past i assume it is a bug

  15. Copy & paste within a numbered list can cause wrong numbering

    If you create a numbered list which runs over 2 or more columns and copy some text within the list from one paragraph to another the numbering changes. In my example you have 2 times 1 in the list.

    To make it even more crazy this only happens when you use the Adobe Single-line composer. If you work with the Adobe ParagraphComposer there's no problem at all.

    If you change the text frame from 2 columns to 1 column and back the error disappears as well.

  16. PlaceGun does not have reference to idms textframe

    Hi,

    I'm trying to place a textframe from an idms file into an indesign document. The actual loadPlaceGun() operation seems to work fine as I'm able to paste the textframe on the page. However, I also want to have a reference to that textframe. I was trying to accomplish this by using

    placeGun.pageItems.everyItem().getElements(), but it doesn't return any elements. I find this odd because I'm using the same method when inserting images and it works fine, so I'm not sure what the issue is.   17. fit frame to content no longer working at all

    fit frame to content no longer working as top toolbar click icon shortcut or pulldown or help since recent sonoma update to 14.4.1

  18. Right-to-left paragraph orientation causes problems

    Hello and thanks in advance to the respondents.
    For several months now I have been suffering from a very annoying problem in InDesign and I have not been able to find a solution.
    When I set the writing direction from right to left (using the edit menu - right to left), the arrow keys on the right and left keyboard stop responding as they should, and instead of each click the cursor moves one character to the right or left, clicking on them jumps the cursor to the beginning or end of the line.

  19. Share for Review: there was an error updating the artifact. NOT updating!

    Adobe InDesign CC 2024

    I am working a magazine. The size is pretty large, lots of pictures. I was able to create the Share for Review link, and share it. But I am unable to update. Although, I copy the link, open the address in Google Chrome and my edits show. When I mark a pin resolved, it does not show in my indesign file.

  20. Page Label Not Inherited from Parent to Document Page

    I'm assigning a page label to a parent page using by script like

    myParentPage=app.activeDocument.masterSpreads.itemByName("PRD-Products").pages[0];
    myParentPage.insertLabel("page", "products");

    When I insert a new document page based on this parent page, the page label is NOT inherited but just empty.
