  1. Replaced text (when using Track Changes) in a table will crash InDesign/InCopy 2024 when switching to text views

    To recreate (See attached images):

    1. Create a simple table in InDesign and add some content to one cell, then activate Track Changes.
    2. Select the content and replace it with new content, then select to switch to "Story Editor".

    What occurs:
    1. InDesign will completely freeze up and needs to be forced to quit.
    2. This will also happen (in the same set up) if you are using InCopy and switch to either "Story" or "Galley" view.

It seems that this is triggered by the graphics that highlight the removed/new text. If you are not showing the colors in any…

The fix of the issue is now available in InDesign 2024(v19.2.0.046) and above. We recommend you upgrade to the latest version for the fix.

If you are unable to see the update, go to the Creative Cloud application click on the context menu on the top right, and click on Check for App Updates.

  2. Drawing glitches when placing transparent PNGs in RGB documents on monitors with specific color profiles

Applicable to Any Version of Mac/InDesign

When using an EIZO color management monitor with a profile created by ColorNavigator where "Reflect Black Level in Tone Curve" is enabled, placing a transparent PNG into an RGB document causes severe drawing issues, rendering the document almost unusable.

This issue occurs only when GPU rendering is enabled and does not happen with CPU rendering. Additionally, it does not occur when placing a transparent PNG in a CMYK document.

Even under the same conditions, this issue does not occur in Photoshop or Illustrator, only in InDesign.

While creating a profile with "Reflect Black Level…

  3. Changing Description in Buttons Does Not Stick

A description is needed in buttons for accessibility. This works fine if you add the description when you first create the button but if you try to edit the description it does not not stick. The only workaround is to recreate the button from scratch.

  4. Buttons on Parent Pages Create Form Field Errors in Acrobat

Using buttons on parent pages, e.g. for navigation, throws up 'Tagged form fields' errors in Acrobat. These have to be manually tagged as links, which is a nightmare in a large document with multiple buttons per page.

It's not clear whether all parent pages create this error or whether it's confined to parent pages based on another parent page.

  5. Indesign is freezes when a window opens.

Using Indesign Version 20.3.1, Whenever I open any pop up menu (e.g. paragraph styles, text frame options, Export window), Indesign will freeze and I get the spinning wheel on my Mac running macOS 15.4.1.

It happens maybe 1 in 3 times and I have to force quit indesign and reopen.

I have tried Resetting settings and preferences
Uninstalled and re-installed Indesign (this helped for about a week) then it started again.

I've never had this happen before and now it is driving me insane.

  6. SAVE

I’m using version 20.2 in English. I open a document, make changes and save. The SAVE AS window opens and tries to save without success. I need to save in another location and replace from the desktop. The translated window is this:
Unable to save the document. The document may be open in other applications. Close any other applications and try again, or use Save As to save it as a new document.

  7. InDesign windows do not allow resizing from top to bottom

InDesign windows do not allow resizing from top to bottom. Typically, the mouse pointer should change to a drag icon to indicate this functionality, but this does not happen with InDesign, while it works normally with other applications.

  8. glyphs

InDesign V20.3.1. (Windows) crashes when opening (or attempting to open) the Glyphs panel. The crash is consistently reproducible and definitely impacting production. The panel opens but remains blank (nothing displayed), then a few seconds later, InDesign crashes.

  9. Bug Report – PDF Export from Book Produces Low-Resolution Images (InDesign 20.x+)

    Product Version:

Adobe InDesign 2025 (version 20.x and later)
    Operating System:

    macOS 15.4
    Summary:

Exporting a PDF directly from a book (.indb) using book.exportFile() produces a PDF with low-resolution images, even though the source links are updated and the documents contain high-resolution images. This issue started occurring in version 20.x and was not present in earlier versions.
    Steps to Reproduce:

Create a book (.indb) containing multiple documents with high-resolution images.

Update links in the individual documents.

Use book.exportFile(ExportFormat.PDF_TYPE, ...) to export the entire book as a PDF.

The output PDF contains low-resolution images, noticeable especially when printing or zooming in.

  10. 'File is damaged' message appears when opening files

I have the latest version (20.2), the computer is a new M2 max, and these are all files I have created myself. They are stored locally. I have tried exporting as IDML and resaving, but the proble keeps coming back.
Is InDesign really corrupting my files or is this a false message which can be ignored?
Prompt investigation of this would be apreciated please Adobe.

  11. InDesign Help redirects to Adobe Tutorials Webpage Instead of Showing Tool Location in Menus

I use InDesign a lot, but I don't always remember the location of EVERY tool. Sometimes I just forget the submenu it's in, and go to the search bar so it will show me where the tool is in the program. For some reason, in InDesign ONLY, it will instead redirect me to the Adobe Tutorials website. Often it doesn't even have a tutorial for what I'm looking for, or it takes me to a completely unrelated tutorial.

This means I either have to read through the whole tutorial and hope that there is an image of the submenu with…

  12. [ID-4255870] Document Fonts available even if not active

Working on an indesign document that has its own “Document Fonts” folder that contains fonts specific to that document (not activated anywhere else), then switching to a new document that does not have any “Document Fonts” folder, the fonts of the previous document are still available, but if I close indesign completely and then reopen the new document the fonts are no longer available.

This is not correct, fonts that are not activated or not present in the “Document Fonts” folder specific to that document, should not be available for other documents that do not reside in the same folder.

  13. ID 20.0.1 locks up when resizing a table cell, either expanding the column or expanding the row width downward.

    Mac Sonoma, M2 silicon.

I have an academic text chapter with numerous tables; Hebrew is scattered through the text, and some tables have Hebrew columns. Many times working on the file, the slightest change to resize a table cell, or resize a column, or who knows what, ID will go into rainbow wheel of death mode and must be killed.

I just now found a repeatable lockup. A table had no header row, but crosses pages, so I created a header row to be present on each page for that table.

Copying the single line text from a cell into…

  14. New document size issues

When I create a new document in any Adobe program (mostly InDesign) and select what size I want to change it to (whether it be custom or a print size), the size reverts back to a previous size. I have to do this 3-5 times before I get the size I want. It has been like this on the last few updates. I'm currently on the latest InDesign version 20.0 2025. Others I work with don't have the same issue and are on the same IOS (macOS Monterey 12.7.6) and InDesign as I am. Mac IOS and Adobe programs are…

  17. Literal ampersand (&) doesn't show in font's OpenType stylistic set menu

    Adobe InDesign version: 20.1

    Expected Results:
    1. Use a font in InDesign that contains an OpenType stylistic set option with a name containing an ampersand (&).
    2. Look for that stylistic set in Character > OpenType > Stylistic Sets.
    3. The ampersand should be visible in the name of the stylistic set.

    Actual Results:
The ampersand does not appear in the stylistic set name.

  18. InDesign 2025 Crashing Constantly

Indesign 2025 has been crashing consistently since I updated it. The main trigger seems to be when you Option-drag any element. Text, image, shape. It immediately crashes. Any designer knows option-drag is a standard move for design work. This is very problematic. I have restarted, reinstalled, updated OS but still the same thing happens. Sometimes it now crashes when you PDF anything. Update has some serious glitches. Needs fixing asap.
