Page navigation counter resets for each chapter
When exporting a reflowable EPUB from InDesign (19.4), the "Page Navigation" checkbox in Export Options → General generates accessible and usable doc-pagebreak markers and corresponding page link entries in a TOC.
The minor issue I'd love to see resolved is that the ID counter of page numbers resets back to 1 with every chapter/file when exporting a .indb Book file, making all page numbers mismatched from Chapter 2 and forward.
Technically, the page links "work" from the TOC because they link to both a unique file and a unique marker within the EPUB. But the page ID#s don't match the actual page numbers that InDesign already knows about from the book file. This creates a huge headache and a mental model mismatch when needing to manually correct EPUB doc-pagebreak markers when pages may have reflowed in the print version, and we've done too much manual adjustment to the EPUB to re-export from InDesign.
See screenshot of existing export results, and note how the #page1, #page2, #page3 IDs reset for each new chapter. Instead, for Chapter 2 in this example, the page ID should continue in sequence (in both the TOC and markers within the text) with #page11, #page12, #page13, etc. so they correctly match with corresponding print pages 11, 12, 13, and so on.
