2. Strange Whitespace areas

   I am using CC2019 and the have the same issue in CC2020. I have mysterious areas of whitespace that I can't use appearing on my pages. Please see the attached file. The file is part of a book. Page 110 (relative to book's start, the third spread in the file) is where the trouble starts.

   I don't mean to be a nuisance but sorting this out is rather urgent. I am going to destroy the document and start again out of desperation.

3. Exporting PDF from InDesign to an encrypted folder fails

   We have an enxrypted folder on our NAS. We use BoxCryptor to encrypt and access these documents.

   When we open a document in InDesign and try to export it to the same (encrypted) folder we get an error and the PDF is not created. The error mentions the background task not being able to export.

   Exporting the PDF to a different location (not encrypted folder) works OK. So I guess the encrypted folder is the cause. The worksaround is to just save the folder somewhere else, and then move it to the encrypted folder. So we can manage ;-)

   But maybe someone can look into this and figure out a way to be able to export the PDF to an encrypted folder. Not a huge issue for me. though...

5. Mystery white hairlines showing up on edges of Published Online Document

   I am having an issue with documents published online and viewed in Google Chrome. For some reason there are thin white hairlines showing up on the edge of certain pages that are not in the actual InDesign document. On a couple of pages in my book, I have made the background color the same as the background color that shows up in the browser, but these hairlines are still showing the edge of the page.

6. Footnote numbering in InDesign does not heed setting

   I have a single indd-document containing a book with 300+ footnotes in it. I have set the footnote numbering to "Restart numbering at every --> Section" (i.e. Chapter).

   But when I export the document to an EPUB file, InDesign does not heed this setting but keep running the numbering up to "348".

   I suspect this is a bug in inDesign 2020 (15.0.1), as there seem to be no good reason for this behavior.

7. Poor consistency between menus and short cut key mappings

   Hi there,

   It is very difficult or obscure to map a short cut key. This is because the drop- down boxes in the short cut key editor consistently don't match the menus.

   I am trying to match the menus to the short-cut-key editor. I am trying to map a short-cut key to Type->Hyperlinks...=>New Hyperlink.

8. Cursor - Zoom in and out/left and right on trackpad not working

   When using my trackpad on Windows 10, two fingers up and down works when editing a document. Two fingers left and right does nothing and pinching in and out doesnt zoom, it scrolls right to left. This is the same across all my adobe platforms. Everything else on my laptop scrolls accordingly on the trackpad.
   I only downloaded the adobe software last night and my laptop is brand new yesterday. All updates are up to date.

9. find/change search selection changes randomly

   ID 14.0.2

   I use certain Find/Change queries repeatedly.

   The queries are saved with the SEARCH option set to SELECTION.

   Normally I select a portion of text and run the F/C query to automatically make changes.

   Recently however, the query is sometimes applied to the WHOLE DOCUMENT.
   I haven't found a pattern, but maybe once out of every 4 tries. It seems it randomly defaults to SEARCH=DOCUMENT, instead of the way the query was saved.

   Hope I have described it clearly enough...

10. Publish Online Dashboard Fails to Show Analytics

    The analytics information will not load for individual documents or in the overview tab for documents published online from InDesign. I have found this to be a problem on macOS Mojave and Windows 10 using multiple web browsers including Safari, Chrome, Firefox, and Edge.

    When attempting to use view analytics or delete the online document, nothing occurs on the Document Trends page.

    Documents published from InDesign 19.0 onwards will no longer support integrated analytics from the dashboard. You can integrate Google Analytics to track insights into your documents.

    Analytics for documents published from the previous versions of InDesign will continue to be collected until November 30, 2024, after which no new analytics will be collected.

11. stall

    InDesign stalls most of the time for more than a minute after nearly every clic on any part of the screen : menus, boxes, objects, pannels... Even on buttons when saving or exporting.
    I have two macs with the most recent version of InDesign and Mojave 10.14.6.
    I complained about this a few months ago. We has to wait several weeks to get an improvement, but now it is starting again.
    Please do somethiing quickly, we lose a great amount of time and money.

12. Type tool hotkey still not working

    When moving from the direct selection tool to try to make a text box with the type tool hotkey (T), the hotkey still isn't working in InDesign. It shows temporarily as the I bar icon, and then keeps reverting to the direct selection tool or sometimes a disappearing + icon. It doesn't matter how long I wait or if I select the page or the pasteboard for the new text box (although I seem to have more succes on the pasteboard than on the page).. Also the direct selection key and the text tool frequently do not respond to the escape key. I am running InDD 15.0 on a MAC running OS 10.14.4. These features have not worked for at least a year. Experienced designers depend on hotkeys to expedite work. PLEASE fix it!!!!

13. Image tags all grouped in their own article at the end of the tags panel

    I have set up articles in multiple files InDesign 2020 (files first created in InDesign 2019 and updated to 2020 yesterday and today). When I export to PDF, all image tags are added to a new article in the bottom of the tags panel in Acrobat DC rather than in the articles that I assigned them to in InDesign. Luckily, I preserved a version of InDesign 2019 and can open them in there and export to have the tags show up in the correct place. FYI, I also made sure my layers order in InDesign is as I want it to be.

    Fix for this issue is now available in the latest update of InDesign 2020 – that is, InDesign 15.0.1

    In the Creative Cloud Desktop application, click on the Updates section on the left. You should be able to see the Update available for InDesign. Please update your InDesign application to this version to try out the fix.

15. Applescript Droplet: InDesign 2020 issue

    A much used droplet to export one or more InDesign documents to PDF (with dialog and settings) will not work with InDesign 2020 (v15.0.0.155) anymore (fine with InDesign CC 2019). InDesign 2020 opens the first (or the only) document. I can select options in the upcoming dialogue box, but then crashes immediately by clicking OK with an error message (see screenshot).

    However, the same base code of the script works directly from InDesign to export the active document to PDF without any problems.

    InDesign 2020 may not handle "on open ..." and / or "repeat with ..." in the droplet ?!

17. tabs in table

    It is not possible to tabulate within a table of In 2020. When you perform Control + Tab, you jump and open another document in the background. Tabs can only be entered manually via the Type - insert spicial charecter - tab .
    In the previous version 2019 when I used shortcut of ctrl+tab the tab was adgusted and the defenition was kept and I was able to place text the way I wanted, now when I press ctrl+tab as I mentioned it throws out to other doc

18. Crash when working with book TOC

    I have a book with 10 chapters. I created a TOC earlier and left it for a few months while working on the chapters. When I try to update the TOC, the program crashes. I've tried the create new TOC files. Same result.
    Same issue on both desktop and laptop.

19. [ID-4236500]Repackaged book-document cross-references do not update file path

    A series of documents in a Book have cross-references to one another. All are correct and working properly.

    I create a new package for my publisher and test the cross-references:
    they are pointing at locations in my original files rather than the ones in the new package.

    Since those files exist, the cross-references have good status. Moving that package to a new computer breaks them, of course.
